The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The rpm fluctuated, and the transmission shifted roughly. The gear shifter indicator was randomly illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that after a while, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact used a scanner and retrieved dtc: p0705 (transmission range sensor circuit malfunction (prndl input)" was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred, and the contact parked the vehicle and the vehicle was no longer driven due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while shifting the vehicle into reverse, the gear indicator failed to display the gear position. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle several times, the gear shift indicator resumed normal operation. The check engine and service engine warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
We took our vehicle to woodhouse Ford in omaha, ne (72nd st location) for the 19s07-6r80 sudden transmission downshift-powertrain control module programming recall. It was supposedly fixed with a software update. Not long after we experienced the prndl illumination and backup lamp activation (recall 12c23) symptom. We were told, while this is a known issue and a recall for other 2011 Ford F-150s, your vehicle’s specific VIN is not “officially in the recall”. Thus, your bill is $867. 26 and $636. 57 for the associated repairs; transmission leadframe, the backing light issue, and an associated parasitic leak. We pay, we get the vehicle back with no resolution of the parasitic leak and now a backing camera that no longer works (blue screen)…was working just fine prior. We now learn that the backing camera is a recall in other Fords…but not our VIN. Woodhouse quotes another $900 (new backup camera) and another $450 for the unresolved parasitic leak—which they had previously declared was resultant the leadframe malfunction.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact was parked in the residence driveway and had moved the shift lever into "drive" and depressed the accelerator to begin to move forward down the driveway. The contact stated that the vehicle was in "reverse" and not in "drive" and the vehicle backed into the garage door at approximately 2 mph, hitting the door with the trailer hitch. The contact stated that "prndl" illumination on the dashboard was not functioning and he observed that the "check engine" was also illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer and it was diagnosed that the "lead frame" and the "transmission range selector" needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 12v190000 (power train, exterior lighting). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Truck will not go into reverse and throws a code reflecting an issue with the transmission range sensor. The issue began shortly after I had the dealer address a safety recall 19s07; which has to do with a failure of the output speed sensor. As the vehicle had shifted into first gear unexpectedly. There is a compliance recall 12c23 dated may 30, 2012 which addresses the exact same issues I am experiencing: transmission will not engage into reverse gear electronic transmission prndl indicator does not display reverse (if equipped) back-up lamps are inoperative intermittent rear video camera operation when I contacted Ford, they verified my truck was manufactured in may 2011; which was before the terms of the compliance recall covering the period covering October 2011 - February 2012. Yet my truck is having the exact same issues reflected in the compliance recall. I believe this should have been covered under the compliance recall 12c23. As it is the exact same issue I am experiencing and was manufactured a few months before the recall date range and was manufactured at the same manufacturing facility listed. Ford did open a file and issued a case number but I believe this is an issue NHTSA should be aware of.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that there was an intermittent failure of which the vehicle had failed to crank and start. Several times the contact had to wait a brief moment before the vehicle may restart after several attempts. In addition, when the gear selector was changed, it was not illuminating on the dashboard to specify once the gear was changed over so the contact was uncertain if a failure may progress. The back up lamp "prndl" illumination had also failed to illuminate when gears had been changed. The dealer long mcarthur, 3450 s 9th st, salina, KS 67401, (785) 823-2237 was notified of the failure however, the manufacturer and dealer indicated that the vehicle had been excluded based upon the mileage from the manufacturer campaign 12c123 and was also excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 12v190000 (power train, exterior lighting). The contact was uncertain if the dealer may be authorized for the repair. The manufacturer provided no assistance. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000. Dyd.
I have a 2011 f150 ecoboost. When I put it in reverse the lever on the truck does not dial reverse and the truck wont go in gear, after about 10 seconds there is a wrench that appears in the dash and check engine light and the truck is finally able to move back but the reverse lights wont work while the truck is backing up the reverse sensors or camera dont work either making this a big safety issue. The truck also experienses a major loss of power. After the wrench and check engine light appear indicating there is an issue none of the other gears light up when I change to other gears and if I put it on drive the truck has a limited amount of power. And still with the wrench and check engine light on, if I put the truck in park and step on the gas a little bit the truck will accelerate on its own for a about 6 econds. This only goes away if I turn off the truck and back on, but as soon as I put it in reverse it will have all the issues again. And there is no reading of the transmission oil temperature either. I connected a scanner to the truck to diagnose it and it gave me the code: p0705 transmission range sensor circuit (prndl input) I had the truck scanned also by different scanners and all 3 give the same code. That caode calls for a bad transmission range sensor, but I looked at the transmission and there is no sensor on the side. I checked online and there are more people experiencing this problem and some Ford mechanics say changing the transmission lead frame will fix the issue. Dealer says mi VIN doenst show a recall fpr this. I believe there should be. I am nit the only one experiencing this. The dealer did say their transmission department was backed up though.
I stopped to back into a parking spot, but when I put the shift lever into reverse the "r" indication would not illuminate, and reverse would not engage. This caused the check engine light to come on. When I attempted to shift into any other gear, the "prnd" lights would not illuminate. When the truck was put into drive, the gear would engage, but it seemed to be under limited power. When gears a changed, the transmission shifts very hard. If the vehicle is placed in park and turned off, when it is turned back on the gear selection illumination light shows, but once the transmission is placed in reverse, the issue repeats. A recall was done for this exact issue on this year, make, and model of vehicle, but the VIN does not show any active recalls.
