Transmission Failure problems of the 2011 Ford F-150

1 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the vehicle inadvertently shifted to first gear causing the tires to lock-up. The vehicle was turned off and restarted with no issues. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that there was a recall for the failure. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to darlings Ford Volkswagen Audi (403 hogan rd bangor, me 044101) where the failure was diagnosed as a transmission failure. The vehicle's computer was reprogrammed however, the failure was not remedied. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer overnight for repairs however, a week later the failure recurred. The contact was informed that the repair would be over a $1,000. The contact was unaware of the diagnoses since the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was emailed and made aware of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The contact stated that the recall was not confirmed by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

2 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the transmission failed and the vehicle exhibited engine oil failure. The vehicle was taken to randall reed's planet Ford (19000 eastex fwy, humble, TX 77338, (866) 844-5995) where it was determined that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 19v075000 (power train) and NHTSA campaign number: 11v128000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 172,245.

3 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into reverse when prompted. Also, the "r" indicator did not illuminate on the instrument panel. Al bilton Ford (7621 old state rd, holly hill, SC 29059, 1-803-496-3150) was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v190000 (power train, exterior lighting); however, the vehicle exhibited the same failure as listed in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

4 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2018

While vehicle in motion, started to lose acceleration and jerk, lost all power while driving uphill on major road in traffic and indicator panel displayed wrench. Per owners manual appears to be transmission failure and truck is in �limp home� mode, will need tow. Truck is 2011 Ford f150, lariat with v6 ecoboost turbo. Mileage is only 64k, truck is lightly used, has never been driven hard, otherwise in excellent condition.

5 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2018

F-150 transmission fails to shift into gear at some points, will up shift into 3rd or 5th gear when accelerating randomly and will drop into 2nd/1st gear at highway speeds. Has progressively gotten worse and worse to the point that it is almost daily. Vehicle is now unreliable and unsafe.

6 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2017

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving various speeds, the transmission failed to shift without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (tallassee automotive, 1618 gilmer avenue, tallassee, al, 36078) where it was diagnosed that the lead frame wiring harness to the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

7 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2016

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the transmission failed to shift into gear as the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician made the contact aware that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v190000 (exterior lighting , power train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
