Transmission is getting stuck in 1st gear. The speedometer is not working when this happens. The vehicle is not showing any mechanical problem lights on the dash. The truck s a supercab lariat limited 6 speed 4x4, awd. It is not showing up on the recall list vehicle has almost 90,000 miles.
Vehicle abruptly shifted to 1st and is now stuck in 5th gear taking to dealership but the fact that this is a known issue and can get us killed it is beyond me how Ford is dealing with this. There is a 2 week delay just to ger our vehicles in. What are we supposed to do?.
2011 f150 ecoboost: thud came from transmission, seems to be stuck in 5th gear. Speedometer doesn't work during this time and truck goes very slowly.
Truck gets stuck in first gear when shifting from park or reverse to drive. The vehicle then remained in first gear until slamming into 5th.
"2011 Ford f150 lead frame in transmission recall'. I was driving down the interstate when my speedometer dropped to 0, my mileage indicator was showing all dashes ------- and the transmission was stuck in gear someone between 2nd and 5th and my truck started slowing very quickly on its own. I pulled off to the side of the road and disconnected my battery to see if it would reset the readings. Which was unsuccessful. After calling Ford directly I was told my VIN # was not included in the recall that was noted in some other research I had done. I was told in order for it to even be considered it had to be diagnosed at a certified Ford service station. I took my truck in today and was told that it is the exact issue that was in the recall but my VIN was not covered under the recall, even though my truck was the same exact year and manufactured in the exact same place where some of vins were recalled. This is a very dangerous issue and I am grateful I was not rear ended on the interstate as a result of the sudden drop in speed. I want to be included in the request to have Ford broaden the recall that obviously my truck should be included in. If you need additional information please don't hesitate to reach out.
Trans 6r80 was recalled but not for my tk due to the fact it was made in different Ford location being dearborn mi. The truck won't go in reverse, wrench light comes on,when it finally does its stuck in gear. Have to turn truck off to restart and then it will go in gear. Took to Ford dealership for diagnostic. Cause were in codes. . P0705, p0731, p1702, p1921, pinpoint test c p0705. Nec to replace lead frame in transmission. It should not matter what trans shop it was made at if it's doing same thing and poses a safety hazard on the highway at 70 miles per hour. Discovered the problem in a slow construction zone and needed to back up. This tk should of been in recall. Same sr80 trans as ones recalled.
Beginning approximately 9 months ago, when I purchased this vehicle, it began suffering sudden down shifts. At highway speeds it would suddenly drop into third gear, or first gear, very dramatic! very scary! sometimes it would get stuck in first gear when I pulled away from a stop sign and, while in heavy traffic, I had to find a way to pull over and shut off the car and restart it to clear this fault. Sometimes the fault would not clear when I restarted the truck. This began happening more and more frequently and I was very concerned for the safety and well-being of my family, wife and two children. We purchased this as a family and work truck and suddenly we felt our lives were in danger driving it. I learned there was a recall on 2011 F-150s for this very problem but was told my particular truck was not covered in this recall. No reason was given. I opted to pay for the repair myself and it solved the problem. That was a little over a month ago and we have not had a single recurrence of the fault since I paid for the repair. During a phone call with Ford motor company I was promised by their employee shay, employee number to 19116 3, that for it would be fully covering my repair. Cas - 17206 574 they did cover a repair number one nine s07, but the mechanic in charge at valley Ford in kalispell montana told me I needed 16 n 02. Once 16 n02 had been performed my truck no longer has suffered any downshift or transmission errors. It is my belief that my truck and many like it should be included in the 16n02 recall. Thank you for your time.
2011 Ford F-150 lariat 5. 0. 132,000 miles. 16n02 molded leadframe extended coverage 2011-2012 Ford & Lincoln. My F-150 built in January 2011 at kansas city assembly is not covered by the current extended warranty coverage due to the range of months covered in 2011. My truck downshifted while driving. The wrench indicator illuminated and the truck would only go into 5th gear after I stopped and cycled the key. When driving to the dealership in limp mode, it downshifted again and was stuck in 3rd gear. Dealer is replacing the lead frame, electrical sleeve, and the necessary filter, fluid, and pan gasket. They admit it is the same issue as the TSB but I am not covered. Ford customer service was unwilling to help. Lucky for me this issue happened on a back road close to home. It is obvious this is a known defect and I would like to see the current coverage extended to include all affected vehicles. Ford should not be making money in the service lane off this defective transmission safety issue. I don't just feel that myself and others should be reimbursed. I know we should.
Ecoboost engine. Loud clattering on cold start. Runs very rough, exhibits propensity to stall when idling, and very sluggish acceleration coupled with transmission issues. Example 1: coasting on the freeway with traffic around 40mph, shifted lanes, then made attempt to accelerate and pass another vehicle, but the vehicle did not downshift. Accelerator will be down to the floor, and truck will remain stuck in a low gear (like 6th) and go nowhere. . . Zero acceleration. . . After a few more tries, and a few seconds later, the transmission will slam into 2nd gear, shaking the entire truck. At this point, the turbos kick in and the truck takes off like a rocket. Creates 2 dangerous situations, a potential rear-end accident by the lane change without acceleration, and then the sudden, rapid, unpredictable acceleration of being randomly thrown into 2nd gear. Seen various other incidents like this in other scenarios and various gears. Accelerating out of a traffic circle, or out of a turn, is an easy way to see the problem. Truck has basically lost its ability to accelerate/downshift on demand. Example 2: stopped at a stop sign. When I then proceed into intersection. . . Acceleration is very slow, then all of a sudden turbos kick in resulting in rapid unpredictable acceleration. Often times, the wheels will spin, and if the road is dry, the truck will bounce up and down all over the road! accelerator will in the same position the entire time. I have rapidly accelerated towards cars that I didn't want to get that close to. I now have to stay even further away from cars to maintain a safe distance due to unpredictable acceleration. Frustrating, because the problem is frequent now, but inconsistent. I have 2 kids in booster seats, and now I have to be especially careful when I drive with them in this truck because I feel it's unsafe.
