2 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2018

Transmission will suddenly and intermittently shift from drive to low which causes and sudden down shift causing a very loud noise. I have had the truck into the Ford dealership four times and the truck still downshifts without notice. This occurs on any city street asphalt or on a dirt semi improved road in motion. I am concerned because while towing a travel trailer the truck may downshift and cause the truck and trailer to jack knife injuring or killing the occupants Ford has acknowledged problems but the final fix remains elusive. Ford should replace the eight speed with a new 10 speed transmission. A class action lawsuit should ensue.

My 2011 Ford f150 ecoboost is making a humming noise when you start the truck and move the shifter into a gear and apply the brakes. , does this for about a minute or I rev the engine and it goes away. The brake pedal feels very week then the pressure comes back up. I have had this truck into gateway Ford in greeneville TN since the second day I own the truck. The saleman said this is normal for this type motor. They also changed the spark plugs for a miss I was having in the motor. I have been to the dealer 4 times always get sent away like im crazy its all in my mind. Don't know where else to turn any help would be very grateful. Thank you this happens thru out the driving of the truck.

4 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2017

Backed out of driveway and it would not shift into drive. Screen went blank to indicate gear. Very loud noise when it finally shifted into gear after several minutes. Dealer repaired and said it would be under recall. It took a couple of months to get parts and dealer said not to drive on highway.

5 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2016

My 2011 f150 fx4 has been acting up with the transmission. This has happened multiple times and the dealer is unable to replicate it. So far they have changed all of th coil packs, reset the transmission, changed all the spark plugs in a hope that was the issue. Well it's not. The truck lunges forward with loud bangs and grinding noises. Rpm's go up and down and the truck sounds as if I downshifted from 6th gear to first. Then I can only go 40 miles an hour with high rpms. Engine lights have lit up and now a wrench. This is crazy my gauges don't work this is dangerous.

6 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2016

When driving at slow speeds (ie parking lots) the transmission downshifts into first gear with a very large "bang" noise. This problem is very intermittent. Ford has issued a recall (16s19) which was performed on my vehicle by the local Ford dealership, but it did not resolve this problem. I returned to my local and they keep clearing the transmission's computer in the hopes of relearning my driving habits. This was done twice since the recall was performed, with no improvement.

7 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

In 2016 I went to get recall repaired from franklin TN dealership I purchased the truck from, they refused, in 2019, they claim that the software was not available from Ford, online in emails to another dealer, I have not been told when to bring truck in to get all recalls repaired. Both dealerships are in TN. When in first gear, the truck will jerk back down and won't allow me to go to 2nd gear without pressing hard on gas, loud fan noise from the hood, breaks go to the floor and I have to pump to feel truck slowing down, air and heat continue to not work, air won't get cool and heat won't get hot, both dealerships have refused to repair or blamed Ford for not giving them what they needed to fix the recalls. I am documenting so my family will be able to give this to attorney. The down shift happens when the truck is in drive moving on any and every street, parking lot, stop light/sign. The loud fan noise from the engine only happens when the truck is started, the brakes have been going to the floor for 8 years at different times of the day/night when driving.
