My wife was driving vehicle and dash started flashing "hill start assist not available", "service advanced trac" and the wrench icon started displaying on console. Vehicle vibrated heavily slowed down in a "cripple" mode no matter how hard gas pedal was pressed. She pulled over, turned the ignition off and waited 5+ minutes before restarting. It re-started with engine light lit. In order to get it to dealer, she had to drive approximately 15 miles. Vehicle drove ok for a bit and then exhibited similar behavior 4 more times, including once going up the conejo grade between camarillo and newbury park where a big rig had to take evasive action to avoid hitting her when the Ford f150 suddenly and uncontrollably slowed down. Had the semi driving not been paying attention, he could have easily hit her. Ford dealer diagnosed as bad throttle body on 11/2/2020 same vehicle had exhibited brake loss due to faulty master cylinder (now a recall) in August of 2019.

After driving like for 30 minutes if I make complete stop and when I press gas paddle my car starts shaking and hard to get pick up. It shakes for couple of time and then goes normal. And while driving also I can feel the same.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving 50 mph, the transmission slipped and the vehicle jerked so hard that the contact almost struck the windshield. Shortly afterwards, the gear shifted back into drive on its own. In addition, the speedometer malfunctioned and none of the gauges functioned on the instrument panel. The vehicle started to drive normally hours after the failure, but the service warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to shaker's family Ford Lincoln (831 straits turnpike, watertown, CT 06795, (860) 945-4900) where the dealer denied that the vehicle malfunctioned and that there was a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired, but another appointment was made for next week. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle downshifted in the middle of traffic, decelerated and lost power. When the contact applied more pressure to the accelerator pedal, the engine shuddered and the vehicle hesitated violently. Also, the check engine and multiple unknown warning indicators illuminated. Afterwards, the vehicle returned to normal; however, the failure recurred the next time the vehicle was driven. The vehicle was taken to rodeo Ford (13680 w test dr, goodyear, az 85338) where it was diagnosed that the computer needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed to drive the vehicle two hundred miles. The contact complied and the transmission failed again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a third time where it was determined that a tune up was needed. The contact performed the tune up himself and the vehicle failed again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The failure mileage was 171,600.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. While driving 50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle started to vibrate while shifting into low gears. The contact mentioned that the maintenance wrench warning symbol also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to woody anderson of madison (1638 hughes rd, madison, al 35758, (256) 217-8440) where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall and the vehicle needed diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
At times my 2015 f150 loses all power and go to a low power/ "limp mode" setting. Cautions received are (1) service advance trac, (2) hill descent control fault, (3) hill start assist not avail, (4) traaction control fault light. When this occurs, the vehicle goes to a very low forward power setting (<5mph), runs extremely rough to the point where the vehicle shakes aggressively. This problem is intermittent in nature, and yesterday was the final straw. This suddent oss of power occurred on a busy road and I nearly got rear ended. I immediately limped off the road and was able to get the vehicle towed to the dealership in castle rock, CO. Currently I'm standing by for the mechanics diagnosis. Of note, I do see several similar write-ups of this problem on the NHTSA site regarding the 2015 f150. Ironically, a similar occurrence (ref. Nhstsa id#11083485) happened right up the road from me in castle rock, CO (4/5/18). I hope Ford is aware of this extremely dangerous, recurring problem within its f150 fleet.
Vehicle idles rough and stalls after driving for about 30 minutes or so. Rpms drop to below 500, vehicle shakes and sputters, and sometimes dies. I have had the vehicle die multiple times before turning at a stop light/sign.

Drivng 60 mph hour and vehicle suddenly lost all power. This happened twice. The vehicle hill decent light and some other warning lights would come on and the vehicle would shake violently. It would then lose all power and I had to coast off to the side, turn the vehicle off, wait 30 seconds, and restart. It would then go about a 1/2 mile and do it again. I purchased the vehicle as a certified vehicle a month earlier. The electronic throttle body has failed. However, the dealership was having issues replicating the issue and they were back ordered on the part. The vehicle has 29500 miles on it. This is dangerous as I could be rear ended. Believe me, if that happens, lawsuits will fly!.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while stopped a light, the vehicle's rear end made an abnormal noise and jumped off the road. The contact stated that once the vehicle landed they attempted to move the vehicle however, when depressing the acceleration pedal, the vehicle made a grinding noise and failed to accelerate forward. After observing the vehicle, the contact found that the transmission gears in the rear blew out. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact contacted the all star Ford dealer located at 300 century CT, pittsburg, CA 94565; 925-752-7800 who informed the contact that they would have to have the vehicle towed into the dealer to receive a diagnosis. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that in various speeds his vehicle was shaking as he slowed down and pressed the accelerator pedal, that felt like it was in neutral. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (taylor Ford 13500 telegraph road, taylor mi 48180) who diagnosed and informed that their was no issues. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. Jc.
I excelerated from a stop, suddenly my check engine light started to flash and I started to lose power and acceleration. My vehicle then began to shudder, I let off the accelerator pedal and moved to the side of the road. After about a minute the engine light turned itself off and the full power came back to the truck.
Driving on interstate at roughly 70 mph with cruise control engaged, truck lost power and started to coast. Speedometer swept to 0 indicated speed, tachometer indicated engine at idle speed, around 1000 rpm, while coasting from 70 mph slowing to roughly 40 mph. Vehicle regained powered drive briefly then again lost power and coasted. After resuming coasting, the back tires then breifly locked up, vehicle shuddered, then resumed coasting. Extremely dangerous as vehicle being driven in traffic on interstate and became nearly uncontrollable. Explanation from dealer service department was that the wiring harness from transmission to ecu passes through firewall through a grommet that is known to fail. The wiring chafes and causes a short and the transmission to malfunction. Apparently a TSB is issued for repair at customer's expense per dealer but I have not been able to find it. This appears to be a proverbial ticking timebomb for f150 owners and should absolutely be subject to a recall.
Under acceleration the vehicle shudders, and shakes. It seems to lose power for seconds before it picks back up. Has happened several times while pulling my camper and passing vehicles on highway and interstate. The other day while driving down the parkway the truck down shifted from 6th gear to 1st or 2nd without warning. I was almost rear ended and had to drive off onto the shoulder to avoid the collision. I have contacted Ford and I will be taking the truck in for warranty work on Wednesday April 6th 2016. I only have 3k miles left on power train warranty and none left on bumper to bumper. I purchase Ford vehicles cause of there long lasting and reliable reputation. I have two children and wife that I expect to keep safe while driving this truck. I hope Ford will look deeper into the problems at hand, dont be like gm and kill people before you fix the issues.
Vehicle vibrates and hesitates to accelerate to the point where the truck engine will shut off around 1500 rpm on both highway speed and normal street speed. I took it to a local Ford dealership, and they said there's nothing wrong with it or maybe they just don't know where it's coming from since the engine light is not on.

Vehicle exhibits a shudder/vibration/shake when starting from a stop. Problem is more apparent with weight on the truck. With approx. 400-500 lbs. Or more problem is most apparent. At 300 miles, the problem became very noticeable. Informed dealer, set appointment. Vehicle had 800 miles at servicing, 2/23/2015. Dealer removed rear driveline and drove the truck with just the front driveline and shudder did not occur. Dealer replaced entire rear driveline and problem persists. After 8 days at the dealer service shop, customer was told the problem is normal, especially with any type of load. 400lb is a load???? what happens when I attach a tow unit to this vehicle? is this safe? after acknowledging a problem and replacing the driveline, dealer now says this is normal and has something to do with the shocks and computer. But rest assured this is normal. Waiting for Ford factory representative to investigate. Problem is disturbing and one has to wonder what the long term consequences of this shudder is to the vehicle, vehicle driveline, etc. I was told numerous things by people at the dealer; salesperson said it was probably in need of a transmission reflash, shop foreman originally said maybe there was not enough grease on the driveline splines. Now it's the computer and the shocks? I asked the service mgr. Why they replaced the driveline if its a normal situation. He responded that they didn't notice the weight (400-500lbs under the tonneau cover) until after they replaced the driveline. One has to wonder about dealer competency when they apparently know a problems exist with weight on the truck, yet fail to check for weight on the vehicle. Also, is this not some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem? as of 3/2/2015, the truck is still at the dealer. I've spent less than one week in the truck and over one week in a ram 1500 rental truck. No new car joy here.
Just purchased my vehicle. Then take it in for service for rotors thats are shot with 25k on it. Find out the last guy blew the turbo chargers at 4000 miles n traded it in. The vehicle shudders from take off. Then shifts hard. Also shifts hard from reverse to drive. Noone wants to admits theres problems. Dealers keep says OH its ok. Not true. I want a new vehicle. I just got it. They can shove it. Losses power when it wants to. I plug a charger into the ports the radio goes static. I mean wtf .
While traveling at interstate speed of approx. 70 mph, I attempted to pass a slower vehicle going up a slight hill. There was a shudder and then the vehicle lost engine speed. I went from 70 mph to 55 mph without the abiliry to maintain any speed, I was not applying the brakes. I could not complete the pass and had to pull over to the side of the road. If I tried to maintain speed or accelerate the vehicle shook violently, waking up my family. The check engine light came on and just flashed. I pulled from the driving lane and restarted the vehicle. The light went off and I was able to continue the drive, had to be very mindful of my acceleration. It happened a second time the next morning, again passing; shudder and then an inability to maintain speed or increase it. I pulled over this time the light came on and stayed on. I will be taking it to a dealer this week. I was traveling for approx. Two hours prior to the first event. It was raining during the first event, the second event it was partly cloudy.
My two children and I were driving up hwy 75 north from macon when we accelerated to the next lane. The speed limit is 70 so we were just going to pass in at a normal rate when the engine just quits and the whole car starts to shudder. Now I have had this happen at 19,000 miles and took it in to the dealership. This was only about two months ago. Went in today before I read all the complaints about this 3. 5 eco boost engine and the similar problems I experianced. It was raining on when we had this happen but it occered before with no rain. As the turck stopped and shuddered we were fianlly able to get to side of the road and did not get hit by oncomming traffic. There are six lanes of traffic in this area. Supprised today when I went to the dealership and told them what was happening and they didnt even know of the problems or have ever heard of it. ????? so based on what I have read I called back only to find out they have had issues.
While attempting to merge onto the highway the engine shuddered and the cel came on which put my truck into limp mode. Since, under any load the vehicle shudders and goes into limp mode when there is any load put on the engine.
The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle began shaking violently. The contact mentioned that the failure also occurred when in reverse. In addition, the vehicle was leaking fuel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the spark plug needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to vibrate violently while the contact was hauling a capacity of over two thousand pounds. The malfunction recurred whenever the contact was driving 10 mph or less. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who was unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 1,600.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph in rainy weather conditions the vehicle began shaking violently nor would it accelerate. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage 7,475.
I was driving on a 2 lane highway, behind a semi truck, with several cars behind me. We came to a passing zone and I began to pass the semi truck. I moved to the oncoming lane and accelerated, but the truck lost power. I began slowing down in the on coming lane, but couldn't return to the right lane because the vehicles that were behind me were passing me in the right lane and I had a vehicle directly behind me that was followed me to pass the semi truck. I locked out 5th and 6th gears on the transmission to gain some rpm but the vehicle started to shudder violently. I moved to the shoulder of the on coming lane and shut the vehicle off. I sat on the shoulder for several minutes, got out of the vehicle and checked under it for fluids. There were no fluids under the vehicle. All the gauges read normal. I did all this on the shoulder of the oncoming lane facing oncoming traffic. This was not a good position to be in. I started the vehicle, put it in gear to see if it would move, it did. I had full power and got back into traffic and the truck ran fine. No warning lights, no indication that anything was wrong. Several miles later I lost engine power again, and again got the violent shudder, and the check engine light came on. Going to see the dealer today. This is bad! the first incident could have caused a huge accident. Moving onto that left shoulder proved to be a good move, but I was at pucker factor 10 for a few seconds.
Tl - the contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started to shake violently and hesitated when shifting gears. The contact mentioned that the vehicle would constantly drive roughly. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 800. Kmj.
On 2 separate occasions, approximately 3 months apart while in hard acceleration attempting to merge on an interstate on-ramp, vehicle began to shudder violently and lose power. In first instance, I was able to merge in the left lane and let off the accelerator. As vehicle coasted, the shudder subsided and within 1 minute stopped all together. In the second instance, when the vehicle lost power, traffic conditions would not allow me to merge and I was forced to coast along the shoulder of the road until the shudder subsided and power was resumed. In neither situation, did the vehicle go into safe mode or the check engine light appear. Vehicle simply resumed normal operation.
V6 ecoboost my family and I were traveling in heavy rain on i65 in birmingham, al. I pulled into the far left lane to pass slower vehicles. When I accelerated the truck began to shake violently and rapidly lose speed and power. Several vehicles including a semi had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The second time was on my return trip home. We were traveling on a two lane road in foggy conditions. We came to an area when the road split so you could pass slower vehicles. I, along with a car following, went to pass a slower vehicle which had moved to the right. When I was alongside the slower vehicle my truck began to shake and lose speed. I had to take evasive braking action to fall in behind the vehicle to my right because they were running out of room. The vehicle following me also had to take evasive action to avoid hitting me. And the car to my right. I took the truck to the dealer when I returned home. They replaced the cac, installed a plastic shield, reprogrammed the computer, and replaced a defective cat as was the recommended repair according to the issued TSB. On April 18th I was traveling on hwy41 in the rain. Twice on my trip the vehicle began to shake and lose speed when passing slower vehicles. The applied TSB did not fix the problem. I returned the vehicle to the dealership at the request of Ford customer care. They were unable to find an issue. The day the vehicle was returned the second cat went out and had to be replaced. Ford has acknowledged the issue but has informed me that there is nothing they can do at this time. They offered to send me a buy back offer within ten days and after twenty days and several phone calls today they informed me that they are unable to buy back my truck. They also told me that I would have to live with the issue until they (if) come up with a fix. I am unwilling to put my family at risk.
Vehicle was purchased on 3/16/13 as a demo model with 6300 miles on it. Made a left turn and accelerated to merge into traffic on 3/19/13 when the whole vehicle shuddered violently and the engine lost power resulting in people having to hit their brakes and honk at us to avoid hitting us. The engine continued to bog down as the accelerator was pushed. I let the vehicle coast to almost a stop before the symptoms went away and could drive as normal. I looked up symptoms on internet and found many people experiencing same symptoms with this new eco-boost engine by Ford in their trucks. It seems that the intercooler can collect condensation in humid or rainy environments and have that water forced to the engine when the accelerator is pushed hard causing the vehicle to shudder and lose power. Ford has apparently identified this problem and issued a tbs service bulletin instructing the charged air cooler be replaced with a newly designed one for model year 2011-2012 F-150's with the 3. 5l v6 eco-boost engine if a customer complains of the above symptoms and some people have reported this solution has not fixed the problem. This is extremely dangerous as one could lose power as many have reported, towing heavy loads, on the highway passing and other situations that a loss of power could lead to a fatal accident. The "newly designed" charged air cooler has been on back order for months and people are being told to "drive their vehicles carefully" if their dealer doesn't provide a rental or vehicle to drive while awaiting repair. My vehicle was taken back to dealership on 3/21/13 and has been sitting their awaiting the part as I feel it is unsafe to drive.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact continuously depressed the accelerator and the vehicle began to vibrate abnormally. The check engine light was also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer several times. The technician diagnosed that the air cooler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
My Ford f150 eco boost lost power suddenly while trying to enter a rural route at a stop sign. While trying to accelerate it just died for several seconds and then took off since I was pushing on the accelerator wondering what had just happened . The vehicle has been shuddering a lot on acceleration now with a substantial loss of fuel economy . I have personally had it at two Ford dealership which say they can find no problem with it , but shop forman told me and my wife we where stuck with it and to fix it by pulling the battery cable off every once in awhile.
I was driving to work entering the freeway doing 55 I tried to accelerate the vehicle past a slower moving car and the vehicle began to shake violently and the truck lost power. Had I been in heavy traffic this would have certainly caused a serious collision as I was unable to control the vehicle and had to slow down to 30 mph on the freeway before I could slowly accelerate back up to speed. This has occurred multiple times since October especially after rain or even in the mornings when it has been a heavy frost overnight. Also my m. P. G is down to 11 to 13 m. P. G this is horrible especially this day and age in vehicle technology. I have brought my truck to the local dealer and of course they stated they were unaware of a problem. I had to show them multiple complaints from this website and off the Ford 150 forum. It has been 6 weeks and the part still is not in for my vehicle.
Vehicle began shuddering heavy between 40mph and 50mph. Requiring me to depress the gas petal heavy to avoid the shuddering, its almost impossible to drive my vehicle at 45 mph (which is the speed limit in most of the area I drive in). This occurrence is when 5th gear changing to 6th gear, which is typical between 45 mph. Not sure what damage this is doing to my vehicle, let alone the safety risk this may be causing. I have had the vehicle in the dealership at lease 6 times for this issue and with no results of the issue being resolved. Just the run around and false promises. 2011 f150 5. 0 motor and 3. 55 gear ratio.
Traveled from benton, la to little rock ar. Was driving down two lane highway at 55 mph in the rain. Had to come to stop as a vehicle was turning left. Upon accelerating vehicle began to shake violently and would not accelerate past 15 mph. Was able to pull over to shoulder. Turned off vehicle and removed key. Restarted engine. Vehicle would only run approximately 20 mph. Drove to next town about 10 miles away. Stopped at gas station for approximately an hour. Since it was late in the evening we had to continue traveling. Truck then would run about 70 mph down the interstate, but any acceleration would cause the truck to hesitate, shake, and loose power. Only extremely easy acceleration would work. No down shifting possible. Truck was diagnosed at chenal Ford in little rock ar. Found to have water in the engine from entering the turbo charger air intake. Water apparently accumulates in the turbo charger in the rain. If hard acceleration occurs during the rain, water is pulled to the engine damaging the spark plugs and coil packs. This is a known issue with Ford as the have several service bulletins out. Unfortunately, the dealer in louisiana has not been provided a correction from Ford. My understanding is that the turbo intake system has been redesigned for the 2013 model year. Ford at this time is not offering to replace the air intake. As such, I this vehicle is not safe in the rain. A car should not stall when accelerating.
