36 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2012 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/15/2012

On numerous occasions while accelerating to merge into traffic or to pass a slower vehicle or hard accelerating from a standing stop vehicle shakes and stalls, stays in second gear and has no throttle response, in wet or dry conditions, sometimes completely dying. On one occasion vehicle stalled and died while entering expressway causing me to have to run off road, hitting a sign and dirt bank to avoid approaching semi truck. Engine oil is diluted with gas, has burning smell in engine compartment. We are afraid of engine explosion and fire, burning smell is so bad. Ford has attempted several fixes, but problem continues, now there is a grinding grunt when going into reverse.

37 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2007 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/13/2012

Vehicle shakes at low speed violently. Did research on the web this is a common problem with Ford trucks. Stories of getting the run around from the dealer for shaking new truck to expensive repairs that didn't remedy the problem. I'm a family man with 6 kids and limited means which means I will attempt to fix this myself because I can't afford a pro-tech to tell me the shaking is normal for Ford trucks as in the stories posted all over web dating back several years. I'm still paying for my truck for about another year $647. 00 a month bought it new in 07 zero down which it seems that I will end up with zero. Wife and kids can't ride in the truck until I fix it because she has done something in one day that it seems is taking you guys several years to do. She deemed our family car unsafe and dangerous. Oh well I suppose there might be a certain amount a people that have to die first before this agency acts. I remember the roll over tire thing. Lets hope I'm not one of them because that would leave my wife on the hook for rest of the truck payments she's a great stay at home mother but that's not gonna pay off this truck mc shaky. I bet that last part made you smile. Wish me luck and do your job. I gotta go try to do mine.

38 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/09/2012

While traveling down I-55, towing my travel trailer on a trip from st. Louis, mo to gulf shores, al, vehicle experienced a total loss of power on the interstate. I had been driving multiple hours in the rain when in jackson, ms, I had to let off the gas to allow other vehicles to merge onto the highway. When I re-applied the gas, the vehicle started shaking violently and would not accelerate. This caused the vehicle to lose speed and drop from around 60mph to 35mph on the interstate. After letting off and re-applying gas about three times the vehicle finally recovered and I was able to continue on my way. Luckily the other drivers on the highway were able to avoid me and I was not rear-ended or otherwise caused a serious accident.

44 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2004 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 09/21/2004

I have two main problems with my Ford f150, my vehicle has a vibration which is at its worse between 40 to 60, which is getting worse, constant at around 50mph, and to a lesser extent throughout the 0 to 40 mph and a strong vibration is sometimes felt on deceleration, just before stopping, I also hear a loud booming which coincides with the vibration speeds and I think that this vibration is setting up a resonance or reverberation in the vehicle and with the windows in open positions, on the second day I noticed scratches and indentations on roof, approx 5 of them running on a diagonal, called and left message with salesman, no response, Thursday 9/23/04 had sales manager and body shop manager look at dents, truck was taken back and buffed out, scratches and dents still visible. Appointment was made for a specialist to try to massage dents out, but in case results werent satisfactory, then body filler could be applied and painted, told them repeatedly I dont want body filler on my new truck. I also made a complaint about a vibration between 40 to 60 mph, and that I believed that this was setting up a resonance or reverberation and causing booming sound in truck, service manager took ride in vehicle and said it was wind buffeting, said he would check with Ford engineers and send me a transcript of findings, never did. Sat 9/25 I called Fords complaint number that is listed in the manual, explained that the truck was delivered damaged and requested a replacement truck, also explained that I felt pressured to accept body filler and vibrations in my new truck, was told that a transcript of the conversation would be sent to the complaint manager, he would receive the transcript on Monday, 10am Thursday 9/30/04, I expected a call regarding this transcript, after receiving none, I called the complaint manager and I was asked if it was alright for them to call me back, I said that would be fine, 5:30pm sat 10/02/04, have not recieved a call back, despite request made.
