Purchased car with 8 miles on it in 2015. Both batteries were defective and had to be replaced . One battery blew up, and the other caught on fire. Not sure if that caused anymore extensive damage. The car is dragging when I start it now. Dealer at koons Ford in MD. Says he cant find anything wrong. Took the car to liberty Ford and they replaced batteries and suggested I go back to koons Ford because the car is under warranty. I believe something is wrong the starter or ignition. Default tire pressure sensor will not go off. Even after maintenance. Some severe electrical issues are happening. Having suspension issues as well truck shakes real bad if I hit a bump. Very poor gas mileage. Bumpers are of poor quality. These issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the car. The truck only has 47,000 miles with no missed maintenance dates. Problems occurring both on the highway and on city street while in motion.

The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road where starter fluid was dispensed into the engine and vehicle was able to resume normal operation. The failure recurred four times. The contac referenced NHTSA campaign id number 05v270000 (electrical system:wiring) however, the VIN was ineligible for repairs under the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. 1. When starting for the past couple of months the starter turned a little more slowly than it should have. On the morning of 7/2/05 the starter turned the engine very slowly but did not start the engine and it seemed like the batteries were dead. The key was turned off and removed from the truck. 2. A few minutes after removing the key from the truck a fire started under the hood on the passenger side. The truck was on fire for about 20 minutes and was totaled. 3. Nothing has been done since as the truck is totaled.

While starting my Ford truck with the 5. 4 l engine I heard a very loud pop and the engine ran as if the head gasket blew. A non-Ford mechanic verified the no. 3 spark plug on the passenger side blew out and stripped the threads from the cylinder head insert that this Ford dealer inserted to repair an earlier blown spark plug. The old insert for the previous failure was removed and replaced with a new type according to the Ford mechanic. This is the second time for this to happen. On July 10, 2003, approximately 1 yr and 2 days before this failure the no. 3 spark plug blew out stripping the treads in the cylinder head. Numerous non-Ford mechanics I've talked to have verified this been a fairly common occurrence in the 5. 4 l Ford engine in trucks and SUV's. An individual that I work with had the same spark plug (no. 3 passenger side) blow out from her Ford explorer with the 5. 4 l engine approximately 6 weeks ago.

My Ford F-250 6. 0 diesel failed to start and made a funny noise. Minutes later it was on fire and destroyed the vehicle completely.
I went to start the Ford 250 diesel at 0515 with a temperature of 50 degrees (fahrenheit). The starter was turning slow, to slow to start a diesel. I tried one more time and it got slower. I got in an another car and went to work. About 10 minutes later my wife heard some popping and looked out the window and the truck was on fire. She called the fire department and me. I got their in about 5 minutes and it was in flames. It was totaled.
The vehicle caught on fire, consumer believed the fire started due to a defective starter componet.

I own a 2002 Ford F-250 super duty,4x4,extended cab. The vehicle has less than 12000 miles and was towed to Ford dealer as it would not start. I was informed that due to "mother nature" excessive corrosion was the cause of starter going bad and cables also,I had to pay over $600. 00 repairs, not warranted by Ford.
