I purchased a new 2004 Ford F-350 in October 2004. Since that time, I have had the vehicle serviced 8 times prior to 6/2006 for the same problem. The vehicle has not been driven since that time as it continuously stalls without warning and needs to be fixed again. The vehicle dies for no apparent reason and without warning and the dealer has not been able to correct the problem. This vehicle is unsafe and Ford refuses to buy back this vehicle as they should.

The contact owns a 2002 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was merged to the shoulder and towed to the dealer. The dealer inspected and replaced the cam shaft position sensor. The initial failure occurred in 2006 and would recur every two years, and every two years since then the vehicle would stall and the cam shaft position failure had to be replaced. The cam shaft position was replaced five times but the failure was a constant recurrence. The manufacturer was notified of the issue, who offered no assistance to the contact. The failure mileage was 49,000 and the current mileage was 140,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford f350. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. The dealer replaced the injector control wiring module and the owner was responsible for paying $2200. After the repair, the vehicle miss fired, black smoke was in the engine area and their was troddle resistance. While driving between 55-60 mph motor vibrated, followed by a loud bang. Consumer pulled off the road, and had vehicle towed to the dealership. The two piece flywheel came apart, which caused the transmission housing to crack where the transfer case (4-wheel drive was located. Dealership indicated that this was a common failure with this year trucks, and the two piece fly wheels were not installed in later model trucks. Transmission housing and the flywheel were replaced.

While driving vehicle stalled. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

When decelerating vehicle stalled. Dealership serviced vehicle, and technician could not duplicate the problem.

The consumer has not had the truck checked nor inspected in the year that he was having these problems. The vehicle was stalling at low speeds 0-20 mph.

While driving 75 mph vehicle stalled. Consumer managed to restart the vehicle. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While driving 30 mph the vehicle stalled without warning. This caused lost of steering and brakes. The dealer told the consumer that he was using the wrong gas but the consumer is using high diesel octane. Please provide any additional information. The consumer stated there was a technical service bulletin which stated there was a problem with wire chaffing.

Automatic remote starter started while the hood was up. Dealer was suppose to install a pin switch that would not allow the engine to be started while the hood was up. This was a precaution in the event of a mishap while a mechanic was working on the vehicle.

While driving approximately 70 mph on highway, the vehicle stalled 4 separate times, which resulted in loss of power steering and brake control. Dealer advised the problem was corrected, but was unable to guarantee the vehicle would not stall again. After the vehicle was picked up it stalled 15 times.

Vehicle stalls at various speeds, sometimes vehicle will restart on its own and sometimes it will light the "wait to start" light and you must wait to manually restart. This leaves vehicle without power steering or power brakes. This has happened for the last 1500 miles or so. Replaced the cmp sensor twice and no trouble codes exists in computer.

Vehicle stalls at any speed/ any time. Taken to dealer numerous times, cannot remedy situation. Also, transmission jerks when shifting gears.

Vehicle will stall intermittently without warning ,almost acting as if it ran out of fuel. It will take about 5-10 minutes before vehicle will restart. When vehicle stalls it will lose all power brakes and power steering. Dealer cannot determine cause.
