[xxx] my 2019 Ford f350 extended cab 4x4 6. 7 diesel engine caught fire while I was driving on [xxx] I was pulling a small gooseneck horse trailer with 2 live horses inside. I was traveling at 60mph. No modifications to the truck, everything stock. A car pulled along side me pointing to the front of the truck yelling your on fire. Immediately got off on an exit ramp, the truck engine died and I lost all power . I tried to put it in park nothing happened. The truck and trailer started to roll backwards off an embankment. I got the emergency brake on. My wife and I exited the truck the whole front end was on fire 50 ft + flames . We got the horses out and away . According to parkhills mo. Fire dept truck burned to the ground in less than 15 minutes. They stated it was a fuel fed fire. All the fire crew and responding police officers stated it was a common occurrence for that model Ford to catch fire . This truck had 19,967 miles no modifications. No warnings ,no fuel smells . Nothing to indicate any problems. Truck went from running perfect to burned up in less than 15 minutes. Total loss of the truck along with all my personal belongings. We were lucky ourselves and our horses escaped. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I have sent in a previous complaint as our truck would die in the middle of the road, due to the fuel pump. It is unacceptable that Ford has not resolved the recall issue in 9 months. Our truck is needed daily for our business. Please make Ford take action.

Engine is the 2. 7 ecoboost and is becoming louder and louder with many ticks and sounds whether you are driving or idling the vehicle at a stop light. Every morning the engine ticks and revs very high and emits huge billowing white smoke from the exhaust whether it’s warm or cold outside. Believe the engine is needing to be replaced in the upcoming recall from Ford for the exact engine.

Had engine light on in 2019 . Nox sensor replaced under my 4year extended warranty. Truck had 103,000 miles 2021 had engine light on, nox sensor fault, calibration of nox sensor preformed. Truck mileage 110,000 2024 engine light on. Nox sensor fault, nox sensor replaced, my cost $1058. 64 truck mileage 113,945 so in four years and only 10,000 miles , I have had to install two of the same location , nox sensors and one calibration. So in my vue, Ford has an issue , with these parts and warranty. I would appreciate , if you would get back to me on the issue sunrise Ford of north hollywood seems to be on my side technically the part in question has an issue,as do many other truck owners with same part.

I've gotten about 15 to 20 on-screen messages that tell me my vehicle may not restart, my dash just dies in the middle of driving, my car will shut off by itself one started, my air conditioning will shut off automatically, I've got an issue with craftsmanship on my rear driver side door, and a plastic molding part just fell off my truck. I have taken pictures or videos as evidence where I could when it was safe to do so. It started in April but started documenting it in may after several repeat issues. I have more photos and video but can't upload them here due to size limitations.
Vehicle shut off while driving, just missed getting hit. Seeing recalls for the same issue with the fuel system and being rejected for them to admit and take accountability for the issue. As this is on recall for 2019 and up. Same issue cracked fuel system circulated through complete fuel system.

We have a 2012 Ford f30 diesel and we are having issues with one of the exhaust gas temperature sensors (bank 1 sensor 3) which would have been covered under Ford's recall campaign# 15m02. However, since our vehicle is 11 years and 9 mo old, they are declining coverage as the campaign is limited to 11 years.

When you drive this truck for extended periods of time the entire instrument cluster shuts off loosing blinkers lights and any indication of speed, among that if you're towing a trailer the trailer lights shut off, Ford has tried fixing it under warranty to no avail, now the truck is out of warranty and the issue is getting worse and they're not sure what's wrong. I also have videos of this issue.
I scan the truck misfire keep popping up I change four coil packs and all new sparkplugs and the same thing 4cyl misfire again and its paper sucking up thru tail pipe.

During recent oil change at a Ford dealership, Ford warned of an oil leaknon the “upper oil pan” that could cause a fire and total loss. This problem was due to the improper installation of a gasket sealant at the time of manufacture. 2020 variants of the same vehicle saw the silicone gasket previously being used replaced be a conventional gasket which has rectified the issues being experienced by these models. These affected vehicles could pose a major risk not only the owners but to other motorists in the event a fire spontaneously ignites. They should be recalled and a conventional gasket (as has been implemented by Ford themselves) installed.
While driving 60 mph, in heavy rain, flat roadway the vehicle down shifted from 6th gear to 4th and from 6th gear to 3rd several times. The shift to 3rd from 6th was hard and accompanied by a temporary loss of forward momentum. No check engine light came on. All temperature gauges remained within normal range. The tachometer jumped and fell wildly during each of the events. I pulled off the highway at the next exit, turned off the ignition, and waited a few minutes. I restarted the truck and proceeded without additional problems.
The contact owned a 2021 Ford F-350 diesel. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the contact residential yard, the contact noticed vehicle was on fire. The contact had just parked the vehicle and walked around to the back of the residence. The contact stated that the fire came from under the center area of the hood. The contact attempted to extinguish the fire, however the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle is still located at the contact's residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. VIN unavailable.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving 60-63 mph, the vehicle began to shudder and lost motive power and stopped. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated after the failure. The contact had to abandon the vehicle on the highway due to safety concerns. The vehicle was towed to his place of employment. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump had exploded through the fuel system line. The fuel line and engine were contaminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. Additionally, after the failure, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v957000 (fuel system, diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 192,202. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Several months ago I noticed a shrill whining noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon closer inspection, I observed raw emissions coming from the exhaust manifold. Upon research I noticed that this was a very common problem with the 6. 7 diesel between 2011 and 2014 with Ford even putting out a service bulletin (ssm50330) and designing repair parts and new heads for their defective design of exhaust studs. The repair of this defective part is very costly and they expect the owners of the vehicles to bear the entire cost of this repair. This is not only a safety issue because of exhaust gases entering the cab of the vehicle, but is also an epa issue because these gases are passing directly to the atmosphere without being treated or going through the catalytic converter!.

2017 Ford f350 superduty 6. 7l diesel will intermittently surge/buck while towing uphill under load causing loss of power and creating unsafe driving situation. When it happens I’ve also observed electrical power loss to obd-ii port where I have accessory guage installed to monitor critical truck systems like oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, etc. . No dtc or fault codes are generated when this happens. I haven’t taken to dealer yet but I’ve researched and read lots of truck forums where multiple Ford owners have had the same issue. When they’ve taken their truck to the dealer they’ve been told this is “normal”. I don’t agree and believe this is a serious safety issue to a consumer that suddenly loses all power and must let off all acceleration while other cars are following/around vehicle when vehicle surges. This has now happened four different times and various speeds (30-60 mph).
The diesel emission fluid injectors are becoming clogged due to crystalized def. This causes a def error to be generated which DE-rates the vehicles speed over time from 50mph to 5 mph over a range of ~50 miles. In remote areas with desert, like where I live this can cause you to be limited to 5 mph on an 80 mph fwy which is incredibly dangerous, especially when some of the more remote fwys are 1-2 lane with limited emergency lanes for nearly 100 miles (especially over bridges). My understanding is this speed limitation is not due to the mechanical operation but is a manufacturer software introduced fault condition, which cannot be bypassed. This also appears to be a wide spread issue as my truck has been sitting in the Ford dealership lot for 2 months waiting for a new injector as these are nationally out of stock. Ford has changed the design on 2023-2024 trucks, the new parts are not forward and backward compatible. Was the design change due to reliability issues with their previous design, should there be a recall for existing customers. P. S. I have a 2021 f350 with less than 15000 miles.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated he heard an unusual sound as if something was loose. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed engine. The engine need replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.
Truck refuses to regen. Find a service bulletin for known maf problems on the 6. 7 engines. This issues cause truck to go into limp mode and can shut truck off with little to no notice. Leaving people stuck possibly in the middle of the road. Cost over $1100 to fix. How is there no recall or even warning to owners that this may be an issue? just a technical service bulletin for service departments at Ford….
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph when they noticed that the temperature gauges had been increasing fairly quickly. The warning that the vehicle had been overheating had displayed on the dashboard. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer who diagnosed that there was coolant leaking inside the engine and the cause may be a defective head gasket. The dealer was unable to identify where the exact location of the leak. The engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 317.
I purchased this truck brand new in August 2022. I have performed routine preventive maintenance on it as prescribed by the manufacturer. (Ford) at just over 96,000 miles and just days after a professional oil change service, the truck began to misfire and the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer that I purchased it from and they diagnosed a lifter and cam shaft failure. (a delamination problem. ) I've researched it online and have discovered that it is a pretty common issue with this relatively new engine. I've contacted Ford consumer affairs and filed a complaint and as of yesterday Dec 14, 2023 they finally got an answer for me. They are offering to pay $5400. 00 of a almost $15,000 repair. I cannot afford this! I take their offer as an admission of liabilty and that they know of the problem. As common as this is becoming I believe there should be a recall on this 7. 3 litre gas engine. One blogger on the internet estimates that about 20,000 of these engines have had this same issue already. (so far) I believe it to be a defect in the parts and not a lubrication issue because its happening in different cylinders. Mine is cylinder #2. I know for a fact that this engine is being used in motor homes and rvs that won't have the 30 to 50 thousand miles on them to make this problem show itself for probably several years. Google; "Ford 7. 3l problems" or "Ford 7. 3l lifter and cam issues" and see for yourself what I have read. I use this truck to make a living, I paid $60,000. 00 for it and expected it to last over 300,000 miles. I tried to upload photos and emails but it wouldn't allow me to. Please help!.
The engine failed on our 2020 f350 at 75,989 miles of normal usage. We only purchased this vehicle used may 2, 2023 from a Ford dealership in michigan and drove it 5k miles when the check engine light came on. It is currently at the Ford dealership in olympia washington getting a new engine at a cost of $13k. Per the Ford service representative in text, the issue was "there is internal damage in the motor and metal in the oil from the camshaft being damaged. " we were told that an engine valve failed, the initial error code was p03035. We are understandably very frustrated that such a young truck/engine failed.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-350 sd. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the diesel exhaust fluid (def) message was displayed; with the “default see owner’s manual” displayed. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to exceed 5 mph. The dealer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The vehicle had not been diagnosed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 192,000.
On 7/23/23 I experienced the death wobble in my 2014 f350 for at least the fifth time since purchasing the truck 4 years ago. This time was the most violent, scary and dangerous time of all. I was on an interstate, in heavy traffic, traveling at 65 miles per hour. Previous incidents have resulted in repairs to the suspension. Everything from tie rod ends, stabilizers and shocks. This most recent incident required that the steering damper to be replaced. All total, I have spent at least $3,000 in repairs in the last 4 years for this problem alone. Not to mention that I fear for me and my wife’s safety.
