3 Engine Failure problem of the 2011 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 01/26/2016

This 2011 Ford 350 diesel had a catastrophic engine failure on January 26,2016 while driving down nc highway 113 pulling a hay trailer. The mileage was 136,539 , the vehicle was well maintained, and the engine suddenly stopped running with oil blowing out of the front base of the engine. I bought the above Ford 350 on February 13, 2014 from nostalgic motor cars in amherst, va. The truck was extremely clean, well maintained, and had 112,156 miles. The truck ran well for almost one year until 136,539 miles. On January 26, 2016 there was a catastrophic engine failure. The engine locked as we were traveled on highway 113 here in alleghany county, nc. No warning lights whatsoever were displayed. There was a sudden loss of power and oil was spewing from the front of the engine. We immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the road. Bill¿s garage of west jefferson, nc charged $100 to haul the truck to blue ridge truck and equipment. Kelly joe barker, an experienced diesel mechanic and owner of blue ridge truck examined the truck and found the crankshaft was locked up. Front seals and bearing from around crank shaft had spewed oil. In his opinion, an internal engine component had broken and the engine seized. We ordered a new Ford engine from piedmont truck center in greensboro, n c . It took 6 weeks to arrive. The cost of the repair is excess of $16,000. 00. While the engine was removed, we had kelly joe do any and all maintenance and repairs as reflected on the bill. The original engine was returned. The 6. 7 engine was recommended to me as being a great engine, and was good until this catastrophic failure. A Ford f350 6. 7 must last more than 136,539. Ford took the old engine when the new engine was purchased, but they have denied any responsibilty for the engine.

4 Engine Failure problem of the 2004 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 12/30/2014

The truck started to stall on several occasions as I was attempting to get up to road speed of 55 mph. The truck was losing speed, jerking and black smoke coming out of the exhaust. There were no indications of engine failure to warn me of any problems, ie. Engine light. This occurred on more than once, causing potential traffic hazard. The cam sensor and fuel injection control module needed to be replaced. The repair costs involved were high thank goodness there were no injuries or accidents due to the stalling. Thank you,.

â â  â  â  â  dear court of common pleas, juridicial ditrict, county of cambria, â  the reason for this notice of appeal to last wednesdays ( 11/10/10 ) civil case with Ford motor company and Ford dealer [xxx] versus myself, at district magistrate honorable xxx courtroom is as follows below: â  I represented myself to all parties with a condensed " readers digest" version of my lengthy, mutiple three ring binders of supporting eveidence simply thinking that time is money so I best not waste either.   this may or may not have contibuted to the outcome of the judge ruling in the favor of the defendants.   either way I am pleaing to appeal the verdict and provide the entire word for word, line for line, page by page, binder by binber, facts.   it is my understanding that my attorney and / or I shall present this in a extremely more precise and detailed manner with exhibits where apllicable to a team of at least three arbitration attorneys.   this case concerns much more than just money at stake but about principals, truth, common courtesy and facts, as a miminum.   my hope is this case can bring to light to the entire public the failure of the manufacturer ( Ford motor company ) to recall over literally millions of vehicles for several engine component failures. Also, the dealership, [xxx] could of helped me with my engine failure, at a minimum of good faith, as a repeat customer but chose not to.   [xxx] â information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. 7 Engine Failure problem of the 2001 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 01/31/2004

Engine failure in December of 2003 Ford covered motor under warranty. Transmission failure in Feb of 2004. My truck has 37,700 miles on it and Ford offered to pay for parts but not labor. I was told I should have bought the extended warranty, which tells me Ford only stands behind their vehicles for 36,000 miles. I am very dissapointed. I have found many other Ford vehicles same make, model and year with transmission failure. I do not feel I should have to pay for any of the repairs. My vehicle is is stilll under the 3 years and just over the mileage.

9 Engine Failure problem of the 1997 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 02/11/2002

Proceeding down steep hill at night approaching a t intersection, engine quit running. Attempts to restart failed, just narrowly avoided a collision, minimal brakes and steering available. Contacted personal mechanic, explained situation. Checked fuses, 30 amp fuse for powertrain control system relay coil/glow plug controller had failed. Mechanic advised open the fuel filter housing, remove filter, check the heater wire in bottom. If loose, shorted out fuse, thereby shut down engine. Found the soldered wire loose. Removed same from the assembly per instructions and replaced the fuse. Engine started. Mechanic said he has repaired (4) Ford diesels within past few months with same failure when the vehicle is being operated. He further said Ford will not honor replacement of the failed part. My warranty book states the entire fuel system (less lines and tank) are covered. Contacted two dealerships, both indicated they had never heard of the problem. Contacted frontier Ford where truck was purchased. They stated those parts are not covered by warranty in their books. Advised them of the critical nature of engine failure while operating the vehicle and was told they could not assist. Contacted Ford mtr CO. And was essentially told the same thing. The parts were replaced, but I had to wait until a dealer could be located who had them in stock, I was told they are on a national back order status. The internal assembly made of a thin metal plate with the heater element soldered to the plate which placed under the fuel filter at the bottom of the housing. By design any water particules drawn into the filter system are forced into the bottom of the assembly where a drain valve is located. Ford requires draining the assembly every 5k miles or when the water in fuel light comes on. I have had the fuel filter replaced when I first purchased the truck and use the drain valve every time I refuel which is on avg. Every 400-500 miles.

10 Engine Failure problem of the 2002 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/14/2001

Engine began failing at 1200 miles and has gotten progressively worse. When the engine fails all power options are lost as well and has caused several close calls. Failure occurs without warning placing my life in danger. The Ford regional representative has refused to talk with me until they try to repair the truck again. I can't trust this truck and feel it should not be on the highway. The dealer has the truck for the third time and hope they will replace it rather than use me as their crash dummy.
