Erratic shifting upon acceleration and deceleration, clutch shuddering on light acceleration, lack of power, and car jostling forward when braking at low speeds followed by almost stalling. This jostling requires me to press the brake hard to prevent a sudden forward-jerking motion. The jostling/jerking often happens when decelerating at intersections, making it dangerous for cars and people in front of me if I do not press the brake hard before coming to a complete stop. Since early July, the car exhibits the same symptoms all the time when driving, making it generally unsafe for regular use. See uploaded vehicle service assessment from Ford - they determined that there is a clutch and clutch fork b failure but no codes related to this concern were present during their diagnosis. The care was released and deemed "drivable" by the dealership.

Excessive "shuddering" in dual-clutch transmission when pulling away from a stop. This is a widely-known design defect, but Ford has not done enough to help affected customers. Every Ford technician openly acknowledges that it's a design flaw, and they know how to fix it. This is a safety issue since the car can stop dead in its tracks on a highway when the clutch fails. A recall is warranted.
I had both recalls regarding the computer module reprogramming performed (#14m02 and #15b22) but my car still experiences sputtering between gears. Took the car in for another recall regarding the door latches on 7/10/17 and during the transmission check, my Ford service representative told me that I had a faulty dual clutch failed and that it needed to be replaced. Cost of replacement is over $2000 at all american Ford in hackensack so due to the expensive financial burden, I unfortunately declined to have the service performed to replace the dual clutch shudder. . The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving 10 mph, the contact noted that the vehicle jerked and shuddered during gear changes. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The second time, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed again and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Clutch fails to catch properly when changing gears. Sometimes when downshifting, it will go into neutral for a second or two, then catch at a high rpm causing a sudden lurch forward potentially causing an accident. When in stop and go traffic, or coming to a red light turning green, the braking and accelerating pattern confuses the transmission, often guessing the wrong gear to shift into, exacerbating the aforementioned issue. Particularly when slowing down for turns, and then accelerating during or after the turn, the gears will grind and fails to properly transmit adequate power, causing potentially causing a t-bone accident when doing a left turn or causing a rear end accident when turning right onto traffic. When changing from forward into reverse, the clutch fails to catch for a second or two, and when it catches at a high rpm for being in neutral so long, it causes a sudden jolt backwards, potentially causing an accident. At lower speeds (<20 mph) the gears grind when shifting, especially when turning. This has been an issue about a year after buying the car, within 20000 miles. The issue has only gotten progressively worse.
Car has had transmission problems delay in shifts and jerky loud grinding noises. Have had 3 clutch repaires to solve and now to my forth. I've had three close calls as the car failed to accelerate acting almost if the brake was applied when entering trafic. These have been spaced over my ownership since 10/2011. The dealer and the tech tells me this is a design defect and that Ford will no longer offer this transmission design. This is a truly unsafe car when the clutch fails. The car was purchased new and had been reprogrammed 6 times and now will have its 4th new clutch installed and it only has 58,800 miles.
Multiple clutch failures. First one started failing around 50,000 and replaced at 70,000. Replaced second clutch at 100,000. This third clutch is now failing at 130,000. I see from reading many other similar complaints on this site that it is a systemic problem. I have experienced the same chronic symptoms of erratic acceleration and shuddering in first, second and third gear. I have had many near accidents due to this problem. To me this is clearly a defective part and needs to be recalled.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of power, lack of acceleration, and shuddered. The failure occurred without warning. The contact stated that the failure occurred five times and the clutch was replaced four times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
