36 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/23/2013

My 2011 Ford Fiesta after not even 5 days of driving the vehicle it started jerking/lunging forward making crazy clicking noise. Transmission service soon light came on called them they came to my house and got it. It took them two weeks to find the problem and fix it. Then I was told the car has to get use to my driving never heard that a day in my life. Now it's grinding, slipping, hesitating, lose power, and roll backwards at take off. I was doing 65 last week when the car started jerking and I almost got hit. Taking it in Saturday to see what they say this time.

37 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/20/2013

Bought 2013 Ford Fiesta on 5/16/13 with 40 miles on it. After the second day driving it started hearing a grinding and rubbing type noise from front left side of car. Took it to one dealer who told me it definitely has something wrong with the transmission but since I did not buy it there they cant help me. So the next day took it to the place I bought it. The more the car was driven the worse this condition got! with 700 miles on the car the dealer at first told me there was nothing wrong, but after a ride along the story changed fast. After 4 days I contacted Ford about a buy-back since they did not know what the issue was. At 1 week in the shop I was told they wont do a buy back but fix the car when they know what the issue is. Now I got a call that its a known issue with the car and has a TSB on it. We will see if this works I guess.

38 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/20/2013

When I first drove the car it was so smooth and quiet; but that didn't last very long. After about a week a heard a grinding noise in the transmission, and the car began stuttering when I tried to accelerate. The grinding noise began to get worse as the week went on. I hear it when I am slowing down, and beginning to accelerate again. I took it to the Ford dealership where it was bought, and they told me it was normal and did not even attempt to fix it. I took it that exact same day to another Ford dealership, because it was still making the exact same grinding sound. The mechanic there test-drove it and said that it was not normal to be hearing that sound. He said it sounded like something was about to fall out. I read online about many problems with the Fiesta transmission; and I want to know what Ford is going to do about it. A sound like that and stuttering does not leave me to feel safe while driving.

39 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/13/2013

Bought a 2013 Ford Fiesta brand new and I have had nothing but issues with it. It feels like something is getting caught when I try to accelerate and then when it does accelerate it jerks, and grinds and all sorts of other noises. When I am in stop-go traffic it feels like it is bouncing up and down and at points I am being jerked in my seat along with the car. Going up a hill is the worst of all because it makes noises and sounds/feels like it is going to stall- sometimes just trying to get up a hill feels like I am trying to drive through thick mud. I have taken it back to Ford several times and they tell me it is nothing. One time the lady who was scheduling the appointment told me that her car does it but it is normal and something that you have to get used to because of the transmission. When I get my sheet back after I have had it in the shop they barely and vaguely acknowledge how they checked the problem and state they couldn't find anything. There is no way that it is normal to be apprehensive when driving your brand new car because you are not sure that you are going to be able to accelerate in time to pull out into traffic.

40 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/30/2013

This was a brand new 2013 Ford Fiesta purchased on April 2013 that has always intermittently stuttered / bogged on acceleration with sometimes a metal noise. I was told this was due to the "new" type of double clutch transmission designed to improve gas mileage. Clutch was already replaced once and I was told yesterday clutch needs to be replaced again. I took the car in to the shop a month ago as the car was stuttering on acceleration fairly badly and told then they couldn't find a problem.

The approximate failure mileage was 100.

44 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 12/15/2012

Within the first weeks of owning this new car - I was disturbed to hear a gear change rattle/noise on take off up to at least 30 mph. The car also hesitates on start when in stop and go traffic and this is actually frightening when in heavy traffic on the highway. I contacted the dealership within the first two weeks and was told "OH the computer is adjusting to the way you drive - by the time you reach 500 miles on the clock it will be all right" !!! I thought that was a bit of !!! but gave it the chance. By the time I reached 500 on the clock it was still a worsening problem. . And I took back to the dealership. On pick up I was told they couldn't find anything and all in order. The problem seemed get worse and a family member drove it and thought it may be transmission related. I took it back to the dealership. They replaced several parts and I was told 'this should fix the problem'. . . It didn't. I have less than 2500 miles and it is 6 months old now. I have told the dealership there is still a problem and I consider it unsafe when in busy commute traffic. I am waiting for them to respond.

45 Transmission Noise problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/30/2012

We purchased 2013 Ford Fiesta in November 2012. Since then we have experienced grinding noise from left side of vehicle, plus burning smell. Most noticeably at city speeds and from takeoffs. Thought maybe it was snow tire issue but when we took in for first service, Ford service recognized the was an issue with the automatic transmission, but gave no explanation or fix. We were told that Ford knows there is an issue but have been kept in the dark since, no followup at all. They added 'you do have roadside assistance' as a response. Are we to wait for the vehicle to completely fail or get in an accident before they do something.

46 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/28/2012

I purchased my "new" vehicle in August 2012 and very soon there after I heard a rattling noise in the front of the car. The dealership made a date for me to bring the car in. They stated that they were not able to hear the noise but that Ford was aware of the problem because other people have had the problem. Close to my second oil change date I brought my vehicle in and asked if they would again try to hear the noise because it drives me crazy. They again stated that they did not hear the noise and that Ford is aware there is a problem. On my 10,000 check up I again asked that the service person check out the noise well apparently by this time Ford had figured out that there was a shield in the transmission that needs to be sealed. On may 16th I was told the part would be at the service station in a couple of days. Today is the 30th no call and no part and now I am told the end of June. I am moving out of state and need to drive my rattling broken down transmission 2,000 miles in my what was supposed to be a brand new car. August will be a year. It is not fair I still pay my loan for my broken down piece of junk.

47 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

I leased a 2012 Ford Fiesta in March 2012. Shorty after, I contacted my dealers service department about grinding/knocking noises when I accelerate. They told me it was normal for the "new" transmission in the Fiestas. The noises got louder and more frequent so I took it in. They heard noises and said there was nothing they could do. Multiple trips to service, had parts changed with no change in noises. On one appointment, found they had to pull my transmission for multiple leaks, new seals, etc. Car was ok for a little while, but concerns back with noises, jolting, jerking, lack of acceleration. Dealership would take it out and say they experienced what I had been saying, but nothing they could do. According to Ford, it was operating within normal parameters. After some time, they would not take the car back again for service so I began going elsewhere. After multiple service visits for the sames reasons, I was finally into September 2014 and finding they had to order me my 3rd clutch. I waited months, with no answers or explanation from Ford, and part finally arrived 1/25/15. . . 5 months after ordering!!!! repeated calls to Ford that car was stalling, severe jerking, lack of acceleration, etc. And all they would say is work with service, nothing they could do. I have read many reviews and stories of people with same issues, poorly functioning transmissions in the Fiestas and other model Fords. Ford refuses to take responsibility of fixing, they just extend the warranty which is not fixing the immediate problems or keep from happening again. I am in the process of trying to terminate my lease.

48 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/05/2012

22 days plus additional 6 days: told by Ford dealership mechanic that oil pan is leaking oil, and water pump leaking. Dye pen fluorescent light inspection shows front crank seal leak, inspection of engine block damaged threads. Replaced engine per Ford, removed transmission from engine, disassemble engine from engine mount, mount new short block and install, reseal components, re-time engine, install engine to transmission assembly, rechecked for leaks coolant and oil. Ford Fiesta broke down next day after I picked up car from Ford shop for 22 days, automatic transmission would not go into drive, reverse or neutral, called tow truck for help to get vehicle back to Ford mechanic, who still working on car. I am very disappointed with the quality of the 2011 Ford Fiesta, doesn't get 40mpg, gets 35mpg, does not accelerate when you need to kind of lags, then makes gurgling noise in the water pump. 2011 Ford Fiesta is not made in the USA and it shows, it's a lemon.

49 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/08/2011

I have a various problems with the transmission. It keeps having a grinding noise like it has a hard time going into gear. I have noticed that the problem is worse when trying to quickly stop as well as accelerating right after. The transmission problem is currently keeping the Fiesta in the shop right now but the dealership is saying that this problem is normal and there is no repair is available at this time. I have also had problems with the window not rolling up right. This was fixed but I think that over time it will start to be a problem again. The final problem is the sound system not being properly wired as I plugged my phone to charge and the radio stopped getting reception.

50 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/27/2011

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. While driving driving approximately 10 mph, the transmission emitted a loud grinding noise with excessive hesitation. On a separate occasion the transmission failed to respond during acceleration. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer four different times for the identical failure. Most recent the vehicle was taken to the dealer and an engineer inspected the vehicle and stated the transmission response was a common characteristic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

51 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 06/10/2011

Car model: new Ford Fiesta year: 2011 delivery date: March 25, 2011 kilometers: 3000 following the replacement of the transmission assembly due to grinding noise and random acceleration in June 2011, I. E. 2 months after the delivery date of my new Fiesta, much more problems with the new transmission, the dealer refused to repair denying the exiting problems, a complaint was to Ford headquarters on 12 July 2011. A service manager left me a voice mail that everything is ok with the car! I wonder,on what basis did she build up her decision?! the following problems are not ok! 1- random acceleration 2- rolls back while on a drive position (randomly and unexpectedly) 3- hesitation (obvious can?t be denied) the car loses its power randomly and after a long drive. 4- buzzing grinding noise when pressing the gas pedal increasing day after day the above mentioned are safety issues and have to do with transmission. I'm still waiting for for headquarters to address the issue properly, and take the responsibility, escaping the problem won't solve it.
