1 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2016 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 03/25/2021

My 2016 vehicle was not on a recall list and I have not (never) missed a Ford maintainence service or oil change etc. On this car. 85,000 miles - now my transmission is going bad, jumps out of gear, won't start sometimes, won't back up in reverse and in forward stutters and jerks. It is scary and the local Ford dealer said it will cost about $2000. 00 depending on that they find. I don't have that kind of money to spend and my extended service warranty just expired. Why wasn't my can recalled like many of the similar. Its electronic? I have no safe vehicle and I am at a terrible loss as to what to do. I like the car but this is going to kill me. Paris mcneny.

7 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

Transmission slips out of gear during normal city driving. I have had the car completely lock up, become unable to drive, and needed to be towed to the dealership. This is the 3rd time I have encountered this issue. I've had the transmission computer restarted, one of the clutches replaced, then a few months after that had the car towed to the dealership again due to "immobilizer malfunction" design for the car is great but the mechanics are terrible.

8 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 10/03/2018

I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta with 88,000 miles on it and it has the faulty dps6 transmission that slips out of gear and shudders so bad under accelerating that it sometimes barely moves, this is a major safety issue and Ford knows it! , I have taken my vehicle to Ford to asses the transmission and they agreed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be repaired under the new extended warranty that they offer, the problem is my vehicle has a rebuilt title and they refuse to do the warranty work even though this is a serious problem and Ford know it since they are in arbitration for it. Just because my vehicle has a rebuilt title doesn't mean that it should not get repaired under the warranty. This issue needs to be made a factory recall so they will have to fix it!.

9 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 01/26/2018

I purchased a 2014 Ford Fiesta new in January 2014. It has the infamous dps6 transmission. It was explained to me that it is a standard transmission in an automatic box. It did the shudder from day one. I didn't think there was anything wrong because I had driven many standard transmission vehicles over the years and figured it was supposed to act that way. In January of 2018, I had stopped at a red light on a busy street in colorado springs, CO where I live. The light turned green and my car would not shift out of 1st gear or go faster than 5 mph. I pulled to the side of the road and after sitting there for 20 minutes and shifted the gears box from park to neutral to drive, I finally got back on the road and the car shifted but very slowly. This was on a Sunday. The next day I made an service appointment with phil long Ford where I purchased the vehicle. They knew immediately what the problem was and told me it would be covered under warranty. I took the car in to them that week and they ran the VIN and it was not in the warranty batch to replace the clutches. They called Ford and asked them to cover the repair. Ford declined. The service adviser gave me Ford's 800 customer service line. They built a case based on my information. A day later I received a phone call and email telling me that it was not covered under warranty and Ford would not give me any financial assistance. Phil long Ford estimated the repair at $2,200. 00 but since Ford would not cover the cost and I purchased the Fiesta from them, they did the repair for $1,500. 00 out of pocket cost. I'm just a simple working man and can't afford those types of repairs. I had to put the charge on my credit card. I will not purchase another Ford due to their total lack of concern and not taking responsibility. The car still doesn't operate properly.

12 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/16/2015

I slowed down for a truck turning into a driveway, when pressing the accelerator the transmission slipped, and I had to pull over into the turn lane, and put my car into low to re-ingage the transmission. I cannot help but to think that this same scenario with me slowing down in the same manner could have happened at a stoplight when trying to turn left before an oncoming car. I have had it bog down and hesitate quite a few times at lights, but this is the first time the transmission actually slipped out of gear. I have had the car in twice to the dealership, and the second time they told me they didn't do anything to fix it because everything is normal. I bought a new car so I did not have to worry about my family's or my safety. Could you please look into this issue. Thanks.

13 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 12/23/2014

I purchased a 2014 Ford Fiesta in may 2014. In December 2014, the vehicle began exhibiting significant shuddering and would slip out of gear when accelerating from low speeds and from a complete stop. When I contacted the Ford dealership for assistance, they did not seem concerned and offered to schedule an appointment for a month later. I am currently waiting for that appointment. Internet research has shown that this is apparently a common problem with this vehicle, which needs to be addressed by Ford ASAP.

14 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/28/2014

I am writing in regards to my 2012 Ford Fiesta which was purchased in june2014. Since then I have had nothing but transmission problems. It was taken to dealer who said there is no problem. The issue persisted and was taken to a different Ford dealer who upgraded software. Vehicle was fine for a month, now worse than ever. Was taken back to same dealer and was told yes, we hear grinding noise, and we feel the slipping but there is nothing they can do. What kind of sense is that!!! I did some research and found thousands of others with the same issues and same responses from the Ford people. This is unacceptable! Ford should take some kind of responsibility to this issue my car is so bad,my wife is scared to drive fearing slipping out of gear. I have no choice but to file a lemon law suit with Ford for negligence. I will also forward this email to consumer protection, news stations and the better business's bureau and any other corporate service I can. I would like response back.

15 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 01/28/2014

I bought a 2013 Ford Fiesta in April and by January 2014 the transmission started chattering, shuttering and feeling like it will stall or drop out of gear. I took the car to the Ford dealership in monroe mi. On 1/28/14 w/20829 miles, was told this is normal for your transmission. They reprogrammed the trans. Took back 5/21/14 at 30282 miles same problem, was told this is normal for your transmission. They reprogrammed the transmission. Took back on 7/18/14 at 34361 miles same problem, dealership rebuilt transmission. Took back on 6/24/15 at 59048 miles same problem again happening. They reprogrammed the transmission. I've been having this issue for over 40000 miles with a 23000 mile time after the rebuild that the problem was very small or weak until it started getting worse again. Ford won't do anything, they say the transmission is in specification according to the dealership. The dealership drives the car very few miles and deems the car in specification. I drive 30 miles to work and this problem persists daily, intermittently from stop to stop. This is a dangerous flaw in the transmission because at times when taking off the car looses power feeling like its going to stall or pop out of gear.

16 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/21/2013

My cars transmission is noisy, it grinds, it slips, it sounds like it's going to stall and I've had it at the Ford dealership twice and they refuse to touch it. They tell me it's normal and they can't do anything about it. It's not safe. It sounds horrible and it does slip out of gear.
