The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked and starting the vehicle up a warning message illuminated stating steering motor sensor fault, and the contact had not automatic power steering on the vehicle. The contact shut down the vehicle and restarted vehicle and the message went away and the automatic steering was back working, however the failure persisted several times after initial time. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as the entire steering racket would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
