2 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2020

The car shudders when trying to speed up after a stop, this happens on and off, but, very frequently. It also produces a slight clanging sound when this happens. 3 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2020

The vehicle shudders in first gear and changes hard to second gear. The vehlcle was checked and was diagnosed with clutch problems, in which the company which had the car knew about. It is not clear if the company had the car when there was a recall for that particular part 2 years ago. The Ford company knew about the problem all the time, and issued a warranty which has expired. If the car was worked on under the first recall, the warranty should be valid because it wasnt fixed.

Severe shuddering returned at 98,000 miles and was not scheduled for service until after 100,000 miles - Ford motor company and dealer now refuses to repair the dangerous and faulty dps6 clutch assembly on my vehicle. 8 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2019

I purchased a 2013 Ford Focus se on October 2014. Immediately noticed issues with car shaking upon acceleration. Figured it had to do with the torque I didn't know better. Wasn't till I started having problems starting car and it was hesitating everytime I stopped at a light. After few minutes it would pick up speed without hesitating until I stopped again. ( this car is an automatic but feels like a standard. ) had recalls and repairs done in 2015, a week after that had to take car back again for same issues. It was repaired again. Here we are September 16, 2019 and same issues. But now dealership is saying recall expires 7 yrs from when car was made. Not purchased. I was just a week past the expiration date. Now I have to pay out of pocket for something Ford could not get done right. Not only the first time, second and now third time! this will be the last time I purchase a Ford.

When accelerating from a stop sign/ light, the car shakes violently. I've had the car in the shop multiple times where the information on the bill states "clutch misfire". 19 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2017

Vehicle shudders at take off or when slowing down to make a turn when initializing gas. Issue was found to be a problem with the clutch. Similar vehicles with the same make, model and year have been given extended warranty# 14m02 for this same issue. My vehicle does not fall under the VIN#'s being covered. I believe this issue is affecting more vehicles than Ford realizes. My car is currently at 65,369 miles.

20 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2017

My vehicle is having an issue with the clutch. It has been called as a clutch shudder issue by Ford. The vehicle does shake as accelerating from going through gears. I have contacted the dealership and Ford motor CO. But they refuse to offer any resolution due to the vehicle going over 100,000 miles by 300 miles. The vehicle was bought used with approx 96,000 miles.

26 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2015

The car shudders - and is worsening and will soon be inoperable - very dangerous. Took to dealer and they said it needs a new clutch but it would be 3 months or longer as they are out of stock. Ford issued an fsa and that is 14m01. Do they expect me not to drive the car for 3 months.

27 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2015

Car shudders and jerks when driving, particularly when shifting automatically between 2nd and 3rd gear. This is problematic when accelerating to merge into fast-moving traffic, going up hill (which is virtually impossible), and when attempting to drive in stop-and-go heavy traffic. Car is slow to accelerate due to difficulty shifting. Once it does, it unexpectedly surges forward. Based on discussions with Ford dealership technicians and numerous other online complaints, the problem is obviously the new dct transmission. We were told the car had to "learn" our driving style and the problem would fix itself. There have been no improvements and it hasn't "learned" anything over the last year. The car is barely 3 years old and has already been taken to the dealership several times for transmission issues that haven't been fixed and apparently will not be fixed.

28 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2015

30 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2015

Car shuttered, grinded and rpms went up and down, and have temporary loss of power. Took into Ford and replaced transmission. After breaking in the transmission, it has started to shutter and grind again once the car warms up. Car had grinded ever since we purchased it and was told by Ford many times that it was normal, but found out later it was not normal.

31 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2015

The vehicle shudders and makes noise when shifting gears. When accelerating at around 15mph, the vehicle bogs down and lacks power. Engine oil leaks also.

32 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

Car shakes and hesitates while trying to accelerate. Seems like clutch or transmission slippage. There is also some type of vibrating/rattling noise at the same time. Once the car shifts past 2nd gear it seems to be better. Bought the car with 35000 miles and didn't notice it right away. Slowly has gotten worse and the car now has 56000 miles. Something is not right.

33 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2014

The car shudders & hesitates upon take off from a standing start. It fails to pick up speed after starting & hesitates instead of moving off. It jerks forward then hesitates. We have taken it to the dealer 3 times, but they only do what Ford has dictated that they do which does not fix the problem. I have contacted Ford motor CO. & they say they are not willing to fix the problem but we need to live with it.

34 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2014

When I first got the car in September 2013, the car would jerk and shake when pulling off from a stop and was also very loud. I took it to be serviced and they told me that was normal. I took it back a few months later because I didn't believe that was normal. They fixed it. But now it's starting to shake again. In June 2014 the engine light started coming o for a few days. I took it to Ford and they claim they fixed the problem. The light came back on in July, they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. The light was back on in September, they claimed yet again, nothing was wrong with it. I took it took a small transmission shop, they read my codes and immediately found a problem, claiming it was a transmission issue. A few days later, the light was back on. Each time the engine light comes on, it would stall and immediately slow down right in the middle of traffic. Each time Ford claimed nothing was wrong with the vehicle, the engine light would be on for two days. Each time I took my vehicle to Ford, they would keep it 2-5 days. . . I couldn't get a rental car half of the time because they wouldn't actually do their job until the last day and then tell me that nothing's wrong with my car. We all know, your warranty company needs to know the problem before authorizing a rental vehicle. This last time in October, they claim to have fixed it. They claim that a sensor had to be replaced. I will never buy another Ford vehicle. I cannot wait to get rid of this car! my car is still shaky. It makes a kind of loud noise now as well.

35 Vehicle Shudder problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2014

I purchased a brand new 2013 Ford Focus in June 2013, I began having issues with the car lurching and shuddering in fall 2014. When I apply my foot to the gas, the car hesitates and then lurches and shudders before fully accelerating. The problem is the transmission. When going uphill, the car hesitates and shudders excessively. The shuddering is worse in cold weather and when air conditioner is running in hot weather. I was told it was an issue with the clutch in the transmission and it was replaced in oct 2014. In Jan 2016, I was back with the same problem and they gave the same fix. There were recalls that required reprogramming which I had done but the shuddering continued. 4 months ago, I was told it was not shuddering outside of normal amounts and I had to pay for the repairs even though it should have been covered under my dealer warranty. When I got the car back it was still shuddering and I have not gone back. If I get the car serviced anywhere else, I lose the lifetime power train warranty that the specific dealership offered. I cannot afford a new car nor can I continue to pay out of pocket for repairing the same problem over and over again. The problem is continuing and I am frustrated with the service managers attitude about getting it fixed. The last time it was "fixed" was March 2019 but the shuddering never went away. I was told the transmission would re-learn my driving style and it would go away.
