The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while making a left turn at slow speed, excessive force was required to complete the turn. The "service power steering now" and "service advancetrac" messages were displayed. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 15v340000 (steering) which he linked to the failure. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a defective power steering angle sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
