Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Ford Mustang - part 1

I was injured in an accident on 8/22/20 while driving my 2018 Mustang gt. The side air bags did not deploy. . . Even the insurance adjuster and collision shop are wondering why. My car was totaled. . . I do not believe the airbag system worked as intended. I was hit on the driver side while traveling approx 30mph, the driver that hit me stated to police that he was going 45mph.

We were stopped in fast lane in freeway traffic, car in center lane hit back passenger side, pushing us into tahoe in front of us. Driver that hit us was going 30-35 mph on impact. Only the drivers leg airbag went off, passenger airbag popped cover off on right side and got stuck so did not deploy. Drivers front steering wheel airbag did not deploy. Driver injured with severe bruising. Back windshield shattered in tiny pieces across entire inside of car. I have confirmed this car did not have any airbag recalls associated with it.

I have had two collision in my vehicle and the air bags did not deploy either time. Both were at a rate of speed approximately 50 mph. One was a rear end collision that was on the drivers side rear. The other was to the driver side wheel and light area. The rear collision I was in motion about 10 mph and was struck at approx. 50 mph. The frontal collision I was traveling about 40 mph and was struck moving at approx. 40-50 mph. This complaint is in regards to the frontal collision. I have photos but cannot get them to upload but provide them for further investigation.

Takata recall I have made several attempts to have the airbags replaced at multiple Ford dealerships since 2017, and have been unsuccessful in getting the repairs made. Recently the vehicle was in a head on accident (impacted the drivers side of an Acura) with another vehicle, while going approx 45 mph, and the airbags failed to deploy during this incident which is an issue that should have been corrected by the recall being repaired.

Takata recall. I was involved in a car accident on the freeway. A trailer truck turned into my driver side rear wheel destroying it and pushing me towards the front of his truck. To prevent ending up in front of the truck I turned the wheel to my right causing me to crash into a construction barrier at 30mph. Advanced track light kept coming on as well as traction control lights though car was fine then new years eve a driver caused me to have an accident and seconds before impact my brakes locked up, and sterring wheel locked up. "takata recall" I was driving my 2009 Ford Mustang on a neighborhood street 30 mph, when I turned a corner (10 mph) I attempted to honk my horn and the passenger airbag deployed, my car accelerated with a hard right straight into a dumpster damaging the drivers side of the vehicle, the drivers side airbag did not deploy. I was in a car accident 8/28/2020. The car was pushed off the road by a tractor trailer and hit a guardrail head on. The air bags did not deploy. Noticed a recall for the takata airbag that I never received. How many other cars are out there. The car was a Mustang bought in 2016 and was totaled.

On may 25th, 2016 I was driving my 2010 Ford Mustang down vineville avenue when a car stopped in front of me and my car came crashing in to theirs, my front end of my vehicle went under the tail of their car, upon impact my airbags did not deploy. On that day I was getting another chance at life ,thankfully I had my seat belt on ,because I could have been easily another addition on the list of fatalities. I contacted Ford about my air bags not deploying and they had me to take my vehicle to riverside Ford in macon GA for testing on July 8th. After perfoming two test Ford still couldn't figure out why my air bags didn't deploy . Ford finally did one more test and they concluded that the air bag sensors went under the vehicle and missed all of the impact of the accident. Because of how the vehichle was made. I was beyond blessed to have not been severely imjured but what if the next person isn't as lucky as I am . I am writing this vehichle complaint not only for my self but to hopefully save the life of someone else . The mother coming home form work , the young adult headed to graduation, he or she who have been deployed and on the way home to see his or her family any and everyone could be affected by this. I hope no I am begging that you look into this matter. There are over 400,million drivers lets keep them safe . On may 5, 2016, I was driving on hwy 395 (nevada). Driving at approximately 40 mph due to rain/hail. I felt my car begin to hydroplane, and then began to spin out of control across the hwy. At least 5 complete circles until I slammed into a concrete wall where the car came to a stop. My airbags did not deploy. The drivers seat bolts broke upon impact as well. No other cars were involved, but I suffered multiple bruises on my rt. Arm, as well as severe whiplash and internal bruising from seat breaking free upon impact. My back/spine are in serious pain due to being knocked out of alignment when the seat broke, and airbags did not deploy. Takata recall my 2009 Mustang has a defective passenger seat occupancy sensor. When no one is seated the airbag flashes code 16. When I fasten the belt on that side still unoccupied, the fault code stops, but the center dash lights up indicating passenger airbag is off. My research shows the problem is not unique to my car, and that it has and is an ongoing issue with many cars not just Ford. This vehicle is on the takata recall for drivers airbag replacement since March of 2015. As yet Ford does not have replacement parts. I believe the passenger seat cushion assembly which includes the bladder, sensor, and ecm should also be recalled. I live in hawaii (high humidity) and research has shown this to be the root cause of the failures. At this point the vehicle is completely unsafe for the driver and passenger in the event of an accident, the drivers airbag has the potential to cause serious injury or death, and the passenger airbag may or may not deploy or effectively prevent injury or death.
