Side/window Air Bag Problems of Ford Mustang - part 1

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph the driver side airbag erroneously deployed causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a concrete wall. During incident the driver sustained an injured right arm which required medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene and the destroyed vehicle was towed away. The manufacturer and local dealer (unknown) were notified of the failure. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure mileage was 102,000. Jft.

I was driving approximately 40-45 mph and t- boned another vehicle that pulled out in front of us. I slammed on the brakes, and slowed our speed down as much as possible. The driver side airbag knee airbag deployed. The passenger side attempted to deploy but didn�t.

I have a confirmed issue with my son's passenger side airbag. The local dealer woody anderson Ford was not able to schedule repairs until March 17th and would not offer a loaner even for the day of the repair. As a result my son will have to drive an unsafe vehicle for 2 1/2 months until the repairs can be made.

2006 Mustang took the car to holman Ford dealership for the airbag recall. When removing the passenger side airbag the threaded holes on both the airbag assembly and the holes on the frame of the car were stripped. I was told there is no way to secure the assembly back onto the car safely. The dealership contacted Ford corporate for a remedy. It's been 2 months since I dropped the car off for the recall and other non related repairs. I filed a complaint with corporate and was issued a case number. It's been a week with no response from corporate or the dealership. I'm concerned that if and when the repair is done, will the repair be done correctly and will the car be safe to drive. I feel as if any repair is done it will be just be a quick fix and not safe. I'm at the mercy of the dealership at this point to return my car in a safe and secure condition. I have a few pictures the dealership sent me showing the stripped threaded holes. At this point I'm not sure what course of action needs to be taken. I get recall notices on a weekly basis which infuriates me considering I haven't had my car for 2 months for that exact issue.

I had the drivers side airbag replaced but they did not do the passenger side airbag at the same time so now its a major inconvenience to go back into the dealer for another round of waiting. They said they would come to my home (as recall notice number three and four spelled out) to perform this service but they did not show up as set up in advance. The dealer is golden circle Ford in jackson TN (731-554-7142) and the service rep is melinda. Since the dealerships are not serious about performing this recall I guess like millions of other owners I will not try to get this done. The dealerships are not taking this recall seriously and Ford is not pushing them to perform this service in a timely manner. I think you are going to have to start put growing fines in place to get their attention.

Takara recall my daughter was driving on a city street and all of a sudden front and side driver side airbags deployed spontaneously and exploded causing her burns and lacerations. Also caused bruising and pain on her shoulder,pain in neck lowerback and ribcage area. This caused her to rear end another vehicle. The battery completely died after and needed to be jump started by tow company. They also couldn't get the trunk to open. I have a claim with Ford and they did ask me at my cost to deliver car to dealership so they could retrieve the rcm but my insurance will not allow the vehicle to be removed. I did contact my product claim rep and now I am being completely ignored. This is a very dangerous defect that needs to be investigated. Thank you.

I had both driver & passenger side airbags replaced at bob swope Ford in elizabethtown, ky 42701. The last one being done on the passenger side in March 2019. I have been getting these notifications that say I haven't had it done. I called bob swope Ford and they acknowledge that it has been done and they can't do anything about it. I have been telephoned and I have told them where I had it done and I am still getting notifications. Can someone please help me resolve this issue?.

Takata recall - I have tried on several occasions to have the passenger side airbag recall performed at autonation Ford, sanford, FL. They keep telling me that they have to order the part. I keep checking back and they keep telling me that they still have to order the part. Most times no one answers the service line at autonation Ford. Sterling mccall Ford only replaced my driver's side airbag on March 28, 2018. They were to contact me regarding my passenger side airbag but haven't done so. The airbag recall group contacted me to set an appointment, which I did for August 17, 2018 but then seemingly knew nothing about it when I called to confirm. They wanted me to drive 50 miles to another dealer for a chance to replace it.

Takata recall. Ford refuses to fix the recalled drivers side airbag until we fix the malfunctioning airbag clock spring at a cost of $400.

Takata recall - safety recall notice 16s26/NHTSA recall 16v-384. I received notice that parts are now available to repair the passenger side air bag of my vehicle. However, I have called two different Ford dealers and they both claim that repairs cannot be made because no parts are available at this time.

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang, the contacctg had received a recall notice from Ford motors in February of 2018 ,and the contact called Ford customer service twice and was advised that parts were not available to complete NHTSA recall number 17v024000 passenger side airbag, exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact took the vehicle to langlade Ford 2530 neva rd, antigo, WI 54409 : (715) 627-2200, where the contact was advised that parts were not available and that no date could be given for when the recall would be completed. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the situation. No failure had been experienced with the vehicle. Cb.

Takata airbag (passenger side) can not get repaired told by dealership that we are not in the right zone for them to order replacement. This has been going on for several years. The driver side airbag was replaced.

Was notified two years ago that my passenger side air bag is under recall. Ford says there is no repair available. I want to know why not. Is the passenger not safe?.

I received a notification about a recall regarding my driver's side airbag. Shortly after, I received another one stating that my passenger's side airbag needed to be replaced as well. The notification stated that if the airbag deploys, it can result in the death of the passenger. It's been over a year since I've been notified and they have yet to inform me that they can make the repair.

Takata recall-- failure to fix in a timely manner. Notified of recall on 03/2017 and no remedy for recall has been released as of 02/2018. Car is not useable for carrying passengers in this condition due to inability to disable passenger airbag. This vehicle was also affected by recall for drivers side airbag interim fix (2014) and no permenant fix has yet to be released for this issue as well.

Takata recall, passenger side airbag could rupture in an accident killing my passenger. My passenger is going to be someone I love so the law suite will be severe. This is a well known problem that has been going on for years! not having a solution to the problem yet is not acceptable.

Takata recall. My local authorized Ford dealer has been unable to replace my passenger-side airbag because replacement parts are unavailable. My driver-side airbag has been replaced. The dealer is unable to tell me when parts will available or even provide an estimated time when parts will be available. I have made several attempts since I received the original recall notices in 2015 (driver-side) and 2016 (passenger-side). My last contact with dealer was Jan 16, 2018. My repairs are not being accomplished in a timely manner.

Takata recall. Ford has yet to fix my passenger side airbag. They predict they "might have" replacement parts in the spring of 2018 but the letter received only states select vehicles. Their remedy is to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat. It is a Ford Mustang. The backseat is not big at all and is only comfortable if you have a double amputee back their. How is my wife who is claustrophobic supposed to ride with me? this is not acceptable. This will also effect if I ever want to trade it in or resell my vehicle as it is a potential death trap for a passenger. Ford has taken a 4 passenger car that is really only for 2 people comfortable and made it a one seater.

Takata recall. I have had the driver side airbag replaced but I am being told the parts for the passenger side are unavailable. I am a little concerned as to what I do at this point with the car. Will parts become available at some point ? or am I stuck with a car with a bad airbag ? I was hoping to get an answer as to what I am to do next. I haven't had any accidents with the car but would like to get the car repaired.

Takata recall. I have the issued recall form Ford for the passenger side airbag and have contacted the dealer multiple times to have it replaced but they allways tell me no parts are available. I am trying to find out when I can have the vehicle repaired or will I allways have an unsafe vehicle that cannot be fixed even though a recall has been issued?.

I have been waiting almost two years it seems for parts to become available to replace my passenger side airbag. There has been barely any news about this subject and many of us are starting to lose hope that they are even really concerned about getting these things replaced. I am unable to even have my girlfriend in the car anymore because she feels unsafe. I'm unable to sell the car because people feel unsafe. And I'm unable to trade the car in because the recall is giving the dealerships reason to low-ball me. I not only think that the automotive companies should start taking more action in getting this worked out but I think that people who are in my situation should receive compensation. Why should we have to drive around in cars with hand grenades in the dashboard?.

The passenger side airbag was recalled couple of years ago but Ford is yet to provide a recommendation to replace the airbag.

After getting the drivers airbag in my 08 Ford Mustang I have received info that it read only a temporary fix. So the drivers airbag had to be replaced again. The passengers side air bag is also defective. With no replacement parts available until spring/ summer 2018. So anyone riding in passengers side is st risk of harmful damage or death. They are not willing to provide me with a loaner car. So I asked what I can do to protect my passengers in the meantime. They tell me to have them ride in back seat. There's no back seat for adults bc it's a. Convertible. That leaves the trunk for a passenger. I'm afraid of getting sued by someone getting hurt in my car due to the negligence of Ford motor CO.

Ford has not made the repairs to my vehicle to comply with the passenger side airbag recall issued over a year ago, even though I have attempted to schedule the repairs multiple times.

Takata recall. Manufacturer recall 16s26. Two dealers where I have inquired state that passenger side air bag parts are not available and may not be manufactured at all because takata will be going out of business.

Takata recall. I have been asking my local dealer when the driver side airbag will be replaced. I have been told the same quote for years, "when Ford finds a new supplier for the takata air-bag we will have one for you". My family cannot ride in my passenger front seat. If this is a mandatory recall, then why isn't Ford made to replace the part? why cannot Ford just use a new airbag in place of the old air-bag? I have been told by many mechanics that the front dashboard of recent year Mustangs take the same style of airbag. If another person is injured, it will be on the hands of NHTSA for not forcing the replacement airbag. I live in one of the hottest, most humid climate changing areas in the USA. Summers of humid 105 f. Degree, and winters down to 20 degrees. My Mustang is a convertible and receives 100% of the humidity when the top is down.

Takata recall Ford dealer informs me that the recall parts are not available. Ford motor company has sent urgent safety recall notice for both driver and passenger side airbags but only half of the problem has been corrected. What can I do next?.
