Automatic Transmission Problems of Ford Mustang - part 2

Nhtsa item # 620988 - I have had this problem in my original new transmission and also in a Ford rebuilt transmission installed by reliable motors on 12/03/02.

While driving along at any speed vehicle stalled . This happened more during stopping. When vehicle stalled, all power was lost, which made it very difficult to control vehicle. Vehicle has been checked by the dealership for this problem. Dealer was not able to locate the problem.

Taken to dealership on three seperate ocassions for transmission trouble.

I pull into my garage to retreive something from on top of my washing machine. I put the car into park and began to exit the vehicle. The engine was still on at this time. I was about 3/4 out of the car standing with only my right foot still inside . When all of a sudden the car begin to back out by itself in reverse draging me with it about ten feet before I could free myself. I tried to get to the brake but the door of my car was to the wall of the garage and the door took me with it. Slamming me against my water softner garage springs and planter box outside of the garage. I was then able to free myself. The car continued down the driveway across the street into my neibhors yard before stopping. When I got to the car the gear was in reverse. I substained many cuts and bruises as a result of this incident. I contacted Ford about this matter 08-02-99 and they seem to not be intrested. All they said was um!! um!! really. If we hear anything in the future WI'll notify you. Without any information, my name or phone number hung up.

Two certified Ford delaers, as well as two independent mechanics have been unable to identify the problem. All four concur the problem is there, but none are sure how to fix it. Car stalls occasionally while coasting and clutch is pressed to the floor. Car has become very dangerous to drive due to the fact that it could die at anytime and it looses power steering and breaking becomes very sluggish. Don reid Ford (maitland, florida) says nothing is wrong with the car.

I lost count after 22 times for that car being in the shop. Now. . . I can barely get it out of park. . They ordered the part for it, but failed to call me when it came in, therefore it was sent back. Then after I complained again to the service manager. I was told that the part was now on back-order, but they found one in oklahoma that was going to be sent to them for me in a week. After 3 weeks I went up there again and I was told that there is no part coming in from oklahoma, that one's on back-order too ! I am getting the run around for a car that doesn't even get me around !!!!!! this is ridiculous ! please someone help me ! I don't know what to do now and I'm always late for school and appointments because I can't get my car out of park !!!! my thumb is so sore and swollen and calloused from trying to get it out of park !.
