Automatic transmission with v-6 engine. Transmission flex plate and torque converter was finally replaced by coast mesa Ford dealer after three years of complaining to h. B. Ford dealer. H. B. Ford also has over serviced the engine oil several times when complaining about the noise. No root cause was given for the replacement of flex plate and torque converter replacement. Is there a Ford recall to grease tip of hub of the torque converter? end.

2 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 2000 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/01/2000

When vehicle is put into gear, from park to drive/reverse, and when vehicle comes to a stop, it will accelerate suddenly for a moment, then stop. This happens mostly during cold weather conditions, and will happen from 25 to 50 percent of the time. Dealership could not determine any defect. A second dealership replaced torque converter, and verified that there was a problem. It was a possible software defect - no upgrade available to repair defect. 4 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 1997 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/01/1998

Driver's seat track leveled out and caused driver's seat to move frontward unexpectedly which could have caused loss of control. Dlr replaced seat track. Problem reoccurred. Also torque converter needed to be replaced. Please provide further information.
