1 Transmission Noise problem of the 2014 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 04/21/2015

I just got this car used took it in for a noise in the transmission in 5th gear knowing it is under warranty the Ford dealer started the work on the car three days later I was told that it was abused and not under warranty I was told that the old owner changed the clutch that caused the damage I find that hard to believe this car is not modified in any was so why the clutch and I have read all of the 5th gear problems like mine. They have told me the repair is 3400. To fix and if they put it back together it will be 500 or 600 I didn't give them writhen or warble permission to do this so I don't know how I will handle it. This is a on going problem with this transmission I'm trying to work it out with the dealer but I don't know how it will go. Thank you tim.

2 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 06/18/2014

I took my 2012 Ford Mustang (62,000 miles) to a Ford dealer to have the oil changed. They talked me into a transmission fluid change, because it would "extend the life of my vehicle". When I picked it up, it was not running right. The wrench light came on and the transmission was making a very loud noise. I had to have it towed back to the dealer. They replaced some sensors and sent me on my way. I made it home but the car wouldn't start the next morning. To make a long story short, after them attempting to fix it 3 times and it still not being fixed, they finally replaced the power train control module. I picked up the car and it still making a loud noise changing from 1st to 2nd gear. I see that there has been a recall on some 2012 Mustangs for a power train control module. I was never notified of this recall.

3 Transmission Noise problem of the 2002 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/20/2013

1 - engine makes horrible sound in cold weather. Also appears to be issue with electrical wiring harness which caused a fire. Very bad gas mileage - big change in decreased mpg. Have issues when trying to fill up gas tank where fuel gun filler wont allow me to fuel as the gas pump at most gas stations will immediately stop and kick out the fueller gun and spit gas out of my tank and spill on my car. There is also oil on my spark plugs and ports. 2 -powertrain - poor stability in driving and squeaky noises coming from rearend. I bought this car brand new and went through four automatic transmissions, first time at 800 miles on the odometer only. Ford replaced all defective transmissions while car was under warranty. Presently I am re-experiencing the same exact transmission problems. All defective transmissions had problems with the second and third gear to final inoperability causing the car to stop dead while driving. It caused an accident.

4 Transmission Noise problem of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/25/2013

I was traveling on a major highway at the speed limit (75 mph in this area of texas) and had just changed lanes when the car would not go, I kept pushing the accelerator and the car would not go. Fortunately, I was able to coast off the highway and was able to go up an off ramp and pull off the shoulder of the road. The Mustang started to make a noise and shuttered, so I turned off the engine being afraid that the engine would be damaged. I was able to start the car again and was able to pull into a parking lot and call for help. The engine started to shutter again and the accelerator would not work. Also, luckily a Ford dealership was with a mile so I was able to drive to it and was told it was a stuck throttle body and charged a deductable for a defective part that Ford should have had a recall on a long time ago. I could have been hit from behind while on the busy highway and injured or killed. Also my transmission fills very "jerky" at times when slowing down or after stopping and starting again from a red light or stop sign. I am very glad that my Mustang is still under warranty.

5 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/12/2011

Was turning left at approximately 35 mph to get onto hwy on ramp. Had clutch in on manual transmission and stick in "out of gear" position during turn in anticipation of dropping to lower gear to gain acceleration. Was unable to put stick into 5th gear after three attempts - seemed "locked out" of gear. No grinding noises like the clutch wasn't in; just like the gear slot didn't exist. I released the clutch and pushed in back in and was finally able to get the transmission into 5th gear.

6 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/12/2011

Shortly after purchasing 2012 gt Mustang (6 speed manual) we starting experiencing transmission issues. 2nd gear had a rattling noise and 5th gear had a significant vibration. County Ford had the vehicle for two weeks performing repairs. They replaced 2nd & 5th gear and I have a long detailed list of repairs on the invoice. I've only driven the car a few times since getting the car back. It's different but I'm not sure its repaired. I feel vibrations in 3rd & 4th gears now and 2nd sometimes grinds when you put it in gear.

11 Transmission Noise problem of the 2007 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 04/06/2008

The car is a 2007 Mustang with 4. 0l v6 and 5r55s automatic transmission. The car makes a whining sound when accelerating in 1st gear, and a lesser noise in 2nd. It seems to be coming from the transmission. I checked with several Mustang owners who told me that their cars normally don't make that kind of noise. Ford service checked the car and contacted the factory and concluded that the noise is from the planetary gears and that it's normal. They did no corrective work. Afterwards, I found that an earlier version of the transmission, 5r55e had problems with planetary gears which were replaced under warranty - TSB# 02-22-2. Also, I found 2 or 3 people said that their Mustang transmissions made whining noises due to internal parts rubbing on the transmission case. In one case, the noise went away on the car after the transmission housing was changed. In another case the transmission failed. One person describes a similar problem in odi id number : 10209790.

12 Transmission Noise problem of the 2007 Ford Mustang

Defective window channel - driver side. Replaced 2/1/02. Now the window will not go up nor down (after warranty has run). Also clunking noise under hood when stopping or accelerating 1/02. Cause per dealer: rear transmission mount bolts loose. They were tightened and the problem was resolved.

14 Transmission Noise problem of the 2002 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 05/10/2003

Manual transmission sticks, it won't go into to gear or come out of gear. Especially first, second, and reverse. We have been stuck in traffic and not been able to get our car into first gear. I have at times, had to spend 5 minutes trying to get our car in reverse. Already caused one accident, and many more near misses. Also ticking/rattling noise coming from clutch at all times. Dealership is completely unhelpful. They say they can't duplicate the problem so their is no problem.
