1 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/13/2017

Shift solenoid d : veh is part of recall 16s19 and recall 16n02. The vehicle is shifting still at without warning at various speeds. This device was not included in the original recall, and Ford is refusing to cover this defect although it is clearly a part of the same problem. Ford had ordered these transmissions from a manufacturer in china, and they've been nothing but trouble from day one. This occurs while the vehicle is in motion and there is no warning when the malfunction occurs. The car was sold to me this way in February of 2013, and at the time the dealership had told me that this was an open ecm issue and was nothing to be concerned with. I took them at their word and am paying the price for it. I have checked my car fax, and there is absolutely no mention of this as a problem. . Read more...

2 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/05/2014

On oct 30, 2014 I was shifting to 2nd gear and the engine bucked, lost speed, then the "wrench" symbol illuminated, indicating the limp home mode activated. I pulled into a parking lot, shut off the engine and restarted it and the light went out. I drove it to an auto shop and they could not detect a malfunction code. Today, Nov 5, 2014 when leaving my neighborhood, the same loss of speed occurred in 2nd gear and the wrench and check engine light came on. I drove back to the local auto shop and they determined the throttle body was defective. The solenoid was bad. Fortunately, my incidents happened at a low speed. This could be catastrophic at high speed, running the risk of a high-speed, rear-end collision.

3 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2012 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 07/11/2012

Front hood has paint peeling issue within 2 years of purchase. Auto trans doesn't shift properly in at least 1 of the first 3 gears. It bucks when cold in winter weather until car warms for at least 30 minutes. . Ford has had the car on 3 occasions without fixing the issue. They replaced the first 3 solenoids in trans without success. Purchased new. These 2 issues remain a big problem. On another note, interior cabin flooded due to rain entering the cowl from a design flaw. Dealership detached a hose.

4 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/13/2012

It's known on the forums at the internet the problem that the v6 Mustangs from 2011 and on are having. The v6 Mustang's with automatic transmissions are presenting a problem when coming to a stop or when you push the gas rapidly, the shifting of the car has some kind of lateness response causing when you come to a stop to feel like a bang in the car after you have come to a stop or when you step on the gas the car wont react rapidly. This cars are presenting some kind of problem with some internal parts on the transmission (solenoids) and when you take the cars to the dealerships for repair the employees always says that there is nothing wrong with the cars. Ford is not taking responsibility of this defects on the v6's automatics because they don't want to make a recall on the cars and they know what the cars have. I'm asking for your company to take action on this matter since there are a lot of us out there with this problem and when you take the car to the dealerships is always the same thing. Please check on the forums and see how many of us are presenting this kind of problem. It's time that Ford comes out and assume the responsibility on this matter.

5 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2006 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/09/2011

I started to notice that once I hit a steady 30-35 mph (on the streets) it hesitates to accelerate. Then it jerks and im running normal again. Took it to the transmission mechanic. He said my trans fluids are fine, however, my pan is "burnt". I do fine on the freeway. Its mostly when im driving through the streets and stop and go at lights. He ran some codes and the results were the "gear 5 incorrect ratio and the solenoid" ---something(sorry). He said to overhaul a trans I would be looking at $1800+.

6 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

The car began to have intermittent shifting problems about 3-4 months after I bought the car. When slowing down and then accelerating, the car would not shift into gear and then lurch and make a popping noise (first time it did this, I thought someone had bumped my car in traffic). I dismissed it the first few times it happened. Then it began to happen on a more frequent basis, not as bad as the few prior times but more frequently. I took the car to the dealership back in July or August 2011 and was told they could not duplicate the problem. After that I took the car in 3 more times and was told the same thing. Finally this week, I called Ford motor company and now their customer relations department is handling my case. The car has been at the dealership since Tuesday and I was told yesterday they think it is a bad shifting solenoid and have ordered the part. I'm not even confident as this point, if replacing the solenoid is going to fix the problems. I wanted to make a complaint as I know you are investigating Ford Mustangs for the shifting issues. I am concerned as there have been several times I thought I was going to have an accident because the car would not shift properly and accelerate. I believe that the only reason the issues on my car have finally been addressed is because I called Ford directly. It appears according to the information that I have been able to locate on line, Ford may have known about the shifting problems since mid last year but the consumer has been left in the dark about the issue .

7 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 12/20/2010

Mt82 manual transmission, difficult engagement into all speeds(forward and reverse). Occasionally locked out of 2nd gear, sometimes due to mpg savings solenoid other times not explainable. I believe this transmission is dangerous due to time to needed to find alternative gear and lack of power to wheels could result in a collision, most notably in a merging, crossing or avoidance maneuver. Manufacturer's only documented fix is to replace fluid, which was accomplished and did not change problem.

9 Transmission Solenoid problem of the 2006 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/13/2009

My car started jerking when I put in reverse and drive. While drive I hear a rattling noise underneath the gear shift. I took the car to the dealer and they stated the transmission had a loose solenoid box and that it needed tightening for $900. Also at lower speeds I feel the car slipping especially on turns.
