I traded my 2005 Ford focus 26410 miles to wade raulerson GMC on October 3, 2007 wrote two checks in the amount of 500. 00 each that they held for four weeks for a down payment. We looked at a 2004 GMC Envoy with 65,000 miles the salesman quoted us a price of 17,000 so we did the paper work the first time on the 16th we were called in again and told we had to sign more documents this time the price of the Envoy rose to 21698. 35, I asked about my 05 focus was told it sold the next day and we had to have gap protection. Payoff on my car was 12,502. 95 and it looked as if they were giving me 14900. 00 but raised the price of the truck by 4000. 00. Bad deal to begin with. The problems began. I had to return it at the end of the month in October 2007 to have the headlights, seatbelt, and motor in the window replaced, and diagnosed to find why the service engine light will not go out. Two weeks later stranded at the daycare I had to buy a new battery. On 05/05/2008 the conditioner went out. I paid the dealership over 100. 00 to tell me it would be an additional 600. 00 plus dollars to repair the mode actuator door motor. October 17, 2008 I spent 375. 02 to have both the shift control cable and gear shift lever removed and replaced. Thank god I was actually on a parking lot when the cable broke and not in traffic. Contacting wade raulerson GMC has been useless I have practically been told you bought the "lemon" as-is now it's your troubles! there should be a law against this type of business and not just for new cars. Now no-one will touch it because of the problems it is having and the large amount that's now owed. Every time the VIN is pulled I get pushed out of the door faster than I can blink. Btw the service engine light is still on and has been since I left the dealership. I?m tired of honest hard-working people being raked over the coals by unscrupulous dealers while they get protected by the "as-is" rule then laugh all the way to the bank.

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle vibrated and the engine stalled intermittently. Prior to the failures, the engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they replaced the intake valve, head gasket, timing belt, and cylinder head. The failures recurred on a separate occasion. The vehicle is currently not being driven due to the safety risk involved. The contact will take the vehicle to the authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and repair. The failure mileage was 14,000 and current mileage was 16,000.

First the engine started making noise and the engine light came on, the dealer replaced a belt for 200. 00. Secondly the gas gauge stopped reading fuel levels, dealer stated that the sensor was dead and would cost 300. 00 to replace. Next the engine died in the middle of the street. The vehicle will not turn over and the engine light is back on. Also they had a sunroof installed for me. A week after purchase the sunroof started to open and close even when the car was shut off, it was repaired but now I am having the same problem again.

- the contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. The headlights, dashboard, and tail lights flashed randomly at any speed, this failure started in October of 2006. The weather and time of day were not factors in the failure. The dealership said that the failure was normal. There were tsbs for the failure, as well as for several others. The fuel neck had been replaced twice due to a design change. The seal around the licenses place holder came loose and had to be replaced. The brake pedal was squeaking, the contact took vehicle for service on three occasions, and replaced the serpentine belt twice, an airbag sensor, the rear wiper arm, the oxygen sensor twice ,the first time at 7000 miles. There were cruise control failures, when the contact tried to accelerate it hesitated and then surged. The weather stripping on the rear doors has been repaired three times. The abs would skip on a bumpy road and would not engage. At one point the contact could smell fuel in the passenger compartment and vehicle had very poor gas mileage, the dealer stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, but air valve became stuck and would not close. The rear door hinges squeaked. This winter it won't go to full voltage until a minute elapsed after the vehicle has been started. The original failure mileage was 3829, and the current mileage was 23700. The brakes were inoperative, the belts squeaked, there was a problem with the abs, the air bag light illuminated, the cruise control didn't work properly, the rear wiper would only wipe the middle of the back windshield. A new fuel neck was installed. Updated 03/15/07.
The contact owns a 2002 GMC Envoy xl. The contact stated that he has been experiencing the same failures as noted in recall # 03v096000 (electrical system: wiring: interior/under dash). He has taken the vehicle to the dealer, but the failure still persists. The contact stated that the seat belts continue to lock and the windshield wipers are malfunctioning. The wipers have been replaced numerous times and the failure causes limited visibility in certain weather conditions. The suspension for the arms of the ball joints was replaced and the vehicle continues to shake, shimmer, and make a loud noise. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures are ongoing. When turning, the steering wheel hesitates and causes the vehicle to jerk uncontrollably. When the windows are down, the interior lights dim due to an electrical short. The tires were changed four times, but continued to fail. The contact stated that the brakes have been replaced repeatedly. The dealer stated that the discs were failing due to adverse weather conditions. The current mileage is 68,000 and failure mileage was 38,000. Updated 1/15/09
the catalytic converter, the camshaft, and engine coil was replaced. The check engine light is still on. Updated 01/21/09.

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy. It suddenly dies at highway speeds. No engine, no brakes, no steering. And won't restart for 30 or 40 minutes. This has happened 6 times, the last 2 on I-99 and the washington beltway, where I was nearly killed by the truck behind me. While searching the net , I discovered about 12 other owners of the same vehicle who experienced the same problems. The dealer can find no problem and gm refuses to help. After a month in the shop, my Envoy was returned to me without a fix. The dealer says gm will offer no consideration. I called gm customer relations, talked to a monica cox, no help. Subsequent calls to her were not returned. This is a very dangerous vehicle as I have experienced more than once. I don't know how long my luck will hold out. The date of the event that I will indicate below will be for the last episode and is approximate. The vehicle was used but had less than 1000 miles on it when I purchased it. 953 to be exact.
We experienced, like a lot of people who posted complaints with NHTSA about engine failure in Envoys that are not even year old or over 10,000 miles. We had an experience with our 2002 Envoy where on thurs. 12/19 my husband was accelerating off of a take off ramp onto the beltway and all of a sudden he heard a loud clattering noise. He pulled over to the shoulder and could not go any further. We had it towed to the GMC dealer and they determined that there was a drive train failure with pieces found down to the six cyclinder head. They are replacing the engine with an "updated" engine, which means to me that there was a problem with the first run engines. According to complaints posted to your website this has happened to lots of people. When is the recall coming? stopping abruptly in the middle of the highway is very dangerous. Does it take someone to get killed before a recall can be done? we are in negotiations with GMC at this time. I would like a response to my e-mail.
