GMC Envoy owners have reported 1 problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My car overheated on a normal day, about 80 degrees outside. I checked and replaced a defective thermostat, and started the engine only to find it misfiring badly for the first time. I gained advise from a local auto store and changed my spark plugs. When I pulled out the old ones, I found three of the six covered in oil. Upon further research, I was instructed to remove the manifold and replace the tube seals but the plastic manifold cover would not come off as indicated in a gm mechanics manual. This is the last of several problems I've had with the 2004 GMC Envoy xuv 2wd inline 6. I see many complaints on the oily spark plug issue and cracked manifold but no tsbs. Last year, I had my a/c compressor go out and replaced, my gas tank leak and replaced under a 'special warranty', a diagnosis that my heater core is bad, all three motor mounts go out and replaced, and a number of various small electronic components go out. I need GMC to correct these issues outstanding with my vehicle and expect appropriate action from them. I spent well over $40000 for this vehicle and its not even 10 years old yet. Gm has been well known for long life of their engines and body frames, and have said so on their behalf. They need to live up to the reputation I have so loyally painted for them.
