Brake Loud Noise Problems of GMC Sierra

1 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2003 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 11/11/2014

On 11/11/2014, truck suddenly veered to left, crossed middle of road and went halfway into ditch, road did have a small amount of snow[1/2 inch], this happened just as I topped a small hill. On 11/16/2014 again as I topped a hill on a curve the truck suddenly veered to the left, crossed the middle of the road and did go completely in the ditch. On 11/30/2014 as I backed out of the garage, the brake pedal went to the floor and had a horrible noise when I applied the brake. I made an appointment with my mechanic and he found the brake caliper was froze up and sheared off the brakepad and this ruined the brake rotor, this of course caused the loss of brakes on the right rear side, which must have been pulling me off the road. Luckily we suffered no serious injuries and no other vehicles were on the road.

2 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 08/08/2003

While driving and applying brakes vehicle produces a loud noise, then, pedal goes to the floor. Extended stopping distance is necessary for brakes to perform. Dealer notified.

3 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2003 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 06/30/2003

Brake failure at low speed stop, brake pedal became soft, went to floor, loud noise in front end, vehicle pulled to the right. Did not stop until pedal was pumped again. Works normaly now.

4 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2002 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 04/23/2003

There was a loud noise when the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer felt that the brakes had a manufacturers defect due to open drums.

Failure Date: 09/13/2002

Anti- lock brake motor stays on and makes a loud noise causing brakes to be inoperative.

6 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 08/14/2001

Encountered total brake failure while braking on an off ramp. Approximate speed was 25 mph. When attempting to brake, abs module emitted a loud noise, brake pedal remained firm but total brake loss on all 4 wheels encountered. Evasive steering and release of brake pedal restored vehicle braking and avoided contact with other vehicles.
