Failure Date: 09/02/2011

Slow speed stop approaching a locked gate. Brake pedal was applied. Pedal dropped to the floor with complete loss of brake pressure. Brake pedal was pumped twice with the final application locking one rear wheel. The above vehicle stopped within 2 feet of striking a metal security gate. Brake fluid was observed dripping from under the drivers side compartment on to the ground. Vehicle was towed to my mechanic. Mechanic found that there was excessive rust on all metal brake tubing. One of the metal brake lines from the master cylinder to the abs pump completely rusted through causing loss of all brake pressure and brake failure. All metal brake lines had to be replaced. Before and after the incident there were no warning indicator lights that were activated on the dash.
