The contact owns a 2005 GMC Yukon. The contact stated there was a steering shaft clanking noise whenever the vehicle was being driven. The universal in the steering column failed. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who inspected the failure but had not repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer stated they have no knowledge of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 27,200.

The incorrect fuel levels when it run low, it was showing that have 120 miles to go, when I just drove for 20 miles and it empty, it drop down so fast that I'm so nervous, almost on freeway no where near by for gas station, it happening seen I bought this truck back in 2009 and still now problem with it, I have to refill almost haft of the tank every time, can't wait until it empty light it will out of gas so quick, and second problem is steering making noise every turn on a colum of steering.

I am a single mother of one 11 year old son. I have just purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon and I have serious safety concerns. I have a loud popping noise in my steering column and my speedometer is operating very erratically. I have an extended warranty and have been told by my local GMC dealer that these problems are not covered. My concern is if I should be killed in an accident on the interstate because I can not tell how fast I am traveling when the front steering breaks due to a steering component failure who will raise my son the state or GMC? I have lost all respect for GMC and their products.
