1 Electrical Jack problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/28/2020

The stock stereo will make a popping electrical noise and the stereo will stop working. Sounds like a person is banging on the trunk. If you turn the car off and back on the radio will work until the next episode. The radio stations usually stop before axillary jack. The cd player stopped working in 2018. Never had these issues in my 2005 Honda Accord.

2 Electrical Jack problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/13/2018

My car passenger side subframe is rusted out. I just replaced tires and now the car is unable to drive due to safety concern. I found out this when my car was vibrate a lot during on the road. When I come home, I jacked up the car and inspected the wheel and front chassis. I saw the rust is very bad, it can be seen in the pictures I submit below. The subframe basically separated, it will cause another thousand of dollars to replace the frame. Mechanics toll me that the subframe should not be rust like that. It is the basic integrity of the car safety for any car, it should last a life time of the car as long as you own it. I am hope that Honda should recall this rust issue. It is hard enough to owned an old car and try to keep it on the road.

3 Electrical Jack problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/17/2015

2004 Honda Accord lx. I was in the right lane on ( queens / NY city) grand central parkway west ( after the exit from jackie robinson parkway, coming from brooklyn / nyc). A pickup truck in the left lane, slight behind me, skidded at least 3 times perpendicular to the road, hit me first on the left 2 doors and on the 2nd skid it hit me on my (rear) trunk ( left side). The rear windshield glass was shattered into 1000s of pieces. I had 4 air bags in the car. None of the air bags inflated. Lucky for me and my wife, we did not suffer any broken bones or cuts. The geico insurance CO has declared my car as "totaled". The driver side outside mirror flew away. I think the air bags should have inflated as there was a lot of damage to the driver side door. The car now is in the possession of geico insurance company. I was the only owner since August 2004 ( brand new car). The car previously was in minor accident on the right side doors (just scratches).

4 Electrical Jack problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/28/2014

Warning light for air bag came on. I took it to a caa recommended garage who determined it was a defective "front drivers seat belt buckle switch" he has had several other Honda cars come in with the same problem. Honda says there is a 5 year warranty for this part. I believe that his part should be warranted for a much longer time as it is a important protection for the driver, should there be an accident before the part could be replaced. . Honda says they might review a possibility in paying me a portion of the cost of repair if I pay a Honda dealer to assess, at my expense, this problem, which I refused. I am a canadian, but wanted you to know of this problem. Thank you. Jack hoffman .

5 Electrical Jack problem of the 1998 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/08/2012

I recently encountered a very dangerous situation with my 1998 Accord. One day when driving home, I noticed the car felt like it was all over the road and felt like I had no control over the steering wheel. The next day after jacking it up, I discovered the entire right side of the subframe was rusted out, not even attached to the car anymore. It had broken loose. I hate to think what would have happened if I had kept driving it in this condition and hit a large bump. After researching parts for it, I discovered the many people with the same exact problem, and also found out nothing is being done about it. Apparently the ac drain lines leak and rust out the subframe over time. This is a major safety issue and Honda needs to do something about it. If undetected, this could be very dangerous and cause a fatal car accident! I had no choice at this point but pay the very costly repair bill to make my car driveable and safe again. Just bringing this safety issue to your attention. 98-02 6th gen Honda Accord. Thanks.

6 Electrical Jack problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/16/2009

I own a 2008 Honda Accord lx-p. On wed. , sept. 16, I hit a piece of construction debris in the road. The metal punctured the front driver-side tire. When I stopped to inspect the tire and replace it with the temporary spare, I followed the procedures for using the standard-issue jack that came with the vehicle to get the damaged tire off the car. The jack, however, bent under the weight of the vehicle; then it slipped out from under the frame, causing damage to the metal below the door. The jack, which does not feature a slot (more of an indented plate) to fit neatly around the reinforced part of the frame, did not hold up the car. Because I believe the poorly designed jack contributed to the damage, I contacted american Honda customer service and started a case. Following the direction of my case manager, david kitchen, I visited the breakaway Honda, where the parts technician commented that I did indeed have a "defective jack. " he took pictures, gave me an estimate, then communicated this to david kitchen. This was on oct. 21, 2009. Since then, I have fallen into a "black hole" with american Honda customer service. I have left many messages for david kitchen, with very little response or feedback. I even sent a letter to hiroyuki yamada, coo of customer service, which he never acknowledged. Finally, on January 19, 2010, I was informed by mr. Kitchen that my request for assistance to repair the vehicle was rejected by american Honda because the Honda engineers "could not verify the conditions under which I used the jack. " I shared that this answer was unsatisfactory -- that I was told by the parts technician that I had a defective jack -- and requested another person within american Honda to whom I could appeal. Mr. Kitchen said the decision was his and there was no opportunity for appeal. Mr. Kitchen has all photos, estimates and correspondence regarding this case. Four months of waiting on a relatively simple matter is inexcusable.
