1 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/03/2025

The infotainment system (car audio) in my car is intermittently extremely defective and very distracting. The system will intermittently have ghost touches on the screen, switch screens on its own, end gps routes, place phone calls on hold, and all kinds of other things while I am driving. Searching the internet for a solution this is a problem that many owners are experiencing and they also report it to be extremely distracting and dangerous. A recall should be issued to correct the problem before someone is distracted and has a bad accident and gets injured or killed.

2 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

The infotainment system is registering multiple "ghost" touches, switching screens from gps air play, to fm radio, to system info, to screen saver, to making actual phone calls, etc. This happens many times within a 30 second window. Many times, the infotainment system will power on its own Accord and then flip through various screens. It has been reset 20-25 times and a hard reset by disconnecting a battery 5 times. Nothing helps. Honda said nothing they can do. I have multiple videos to prove the problem. This is a common problem as stated across multiple Honda Accord forums. It creates an unsafe driving environment.

3 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

The screen is not working. In the middle of driving, the screen keeps changing and appears that someone is touching it, but no one is. It starts beeping, the audio switches, the gps goes off, and will not change even when you try clicking the buttons. It is extremely distracting while driving, navigation does not respond, and interferes with the ability to focus on driving. The problem has been reproduced by the dealer, has happened to numerous other customers, and the dealers have done nothing to fix it. It has been inspected by the Honda dealership multiple times. No warning prior to failure. According to research, this has been an ongoing problem for various other people, yet there is still not a fix available for this safety issue. This is unacceptable.

4 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/29/2025

Digital display (screen) is glitching by unexpectedly changing screens and performing operations by itself such as changing driving direction settings (gps), and making phone calls while driving. The issue is not consistent, sometimes no issues are experienced for entire drive time, while other times it keeps glitching from start to finish of the drive time. There is no way to turn display off, and when glitching the display does not respond to any commands (touch screen). This sudden change of screens or performed operations take driver's attention away. The issue almost cost me an accident while driving on a highway. My wife afraid to drive the car since she does not trust its electronics now. Honda refuses to fix the issue and asks to replace the entire display unit without providing any diagnostic details on the issue also failing to provide explanation on why it is so inconsistent. If display is broken then it should be consistent. . .

5 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

I have the same problem with my 2016 Honda Accord. Loud static noise is driving me nuts. I took mine to my local Honda dealer and they said that they need to change the whole gps radio worth $1400. They charged me $86 for diagnostics only and did not bother even unplugging the radio for the meantime while there is no head unit available. I am not happy. I really believe Honda should recall these units. The volume from the radio is at zero and the noise is too much that’s not even safe to drive.

6 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/07/2024

My touchscreen randomly started glitching, randomly dialing numbers and when I tap it to go back to my gps, the screen freeze. This is a danger for me as the driver, I’m not able to drive the car with confidence because the apple carplay gps will change screens while I’m actively driving, making me unaware of the gps direction and road. Is there a recall? there are many threads online of 10th gen Accord drivers going through the same thing. When I call Honda of south miami dealer, they told me that I can come in and change it under warranty, but then suggested that it’ll be a waste of my time since there will be a recall soon. Customers have gone to the dealership with the same issue repeatedly after Honda replaced theirs.

7 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/02/2023

The gps goes unresponsive as part of the symptoms of the infotainment system acting by itself. This poses a distraction and driving risk while trying to not miss the destination. Also radio touchscreen becomes unresponsive while radio changes from stations to bluetooth back to stations on its own.

8 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/11/2023

I would like to report an ongoing issue with my infotainment system. I reported to Honda, but was told there was nothing that they could do about it since I had not had the issue diagnosed in the shop. I did not want to go this route because I knew it would cost an enormous amount of money, especially after reading several reviews online of others having the same issue. I reported to the shop once and later discovered that there was no documentation when I took the vehicle to fred anderson in greenville SC. The tech stated he would reset to factory defaults. This did not fix the issue. As I have done more research, I have discovered that there was a recall on models between 2017-2020, but not 2021. I feel this is a safety issue because the gps would go out at any minute as well as drop calls that have could be emergency calls. A glitching infotainment system in your 2021 Honda Accord can absolutely become a safety issue for several reasons: driver distraction – if the screen freezes, reboots, or doesn’t respond, I may be tempted to look at it or keep pressing buttons instead of focusing on the road. Even a few seconds of distraction can increase crash risk. Loss of critical features – modern infotainment systems often control or display important functions such backup camera, navigation / maps, hands-free calling and texting (via bluetooth). Vehicle settings (like driver-assist features). If the system glitches, I could temporarily lose access to these safety aids. Impaired communication – if bluetooth cuts out or the system won’t connect, you may be more likely to handle your phone directly, which is unsafe and often illegal. In SC there is a new law for hands free use while driving. Malfunctioning alerts – some infotainment systems integrate with driver-assist warnings (lane departure, collision alerts, etc. ). If the system glitches, those warnings may not display or may lag. Unexpected resets -sudden reboots frozen screens can startle you while driving,.

9 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

Infotainment head unit (touchscreen radio) overheats in the warmer months, causing the touchscreen to process commands without human touches (acts like a ghost is operating the unit). This can range from calling radom people within my contacts, turning th volume of the radio up to the max volume (startling and distracting), starting/stopping a gps route, to freezing the screen altogether. I feel this is a safety issue, as we are warned not to operate this unit while the car is in motion. When the head unit is operating on its own, it is distracting and startling at times while driving. This can cause an accident. I've heard other owners say the manufacturer of this head unit has stated they don't have a fix for the "overheating" issue. Honda should be pursuing a remedy for their consumers to correct this safety hazzard.

10 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/30/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the engine failed to start and the navigational system failed intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition electrical system caused the battery to drain. The navigational electrical system failed to operate due to battery failure. The dealer replaced the battery and the starter assembly; however, the failure was not corrected. The vehicle failed to start and the navigational system continued to fail. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 52,031.

11 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/07/2014

So far, no accident, but this trend to disable access to the navigation system while the car is in motion, even by a passenger is actually more dangerous than previously. It's highly distracting trying to use voice navigation and it always does not work very well. The alternative is to use a separate hand held gps or Smart phone, which can be potentially more dangerous and distracting. Has there ever been a controlled study that demonstrates disabling navigation access while driving is safer than the alternative? having used factory navigation systems for over 12 years, I strongly believe that disabling navigation systems while the vehicle is in motion is more dangerous, and represents a safety hazard if alternative routes are required in an emergency. For example, what if you are lost in a bad neighborhood, or someone is following you? you don't dare pull over and stop. I think this issue needs further attention.
