1 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/08/2021

Few moths back airbag light came one had it checked they thought a pinched wire in the steering wheel was the problem 400 later said it was fixed. Then recently exactly 3 months later it's happening again checked it again at Honda after 4 hours they finally found out was wrong its thr driverside airbag inflatar. Did a claim but was refused due to the fact apparently my 2013 isn't under recall and due to the fact my 2013 has been on road for a whopping 8 years its just plain wear and tear on the vehicle the claim adjuster compared it to changing the oil in my car. It's a safety issue and airbags and inflators are usually considered a lifetime guarentee for cars. So I had to shed 1400 for the inflator . I'm scared to death to drive my car anywhere till it's fixed. What bugs me is the fact it's not with the recall eventhough it's the same issue. The claims person basically confirmed if I drove it more I have a higher chance of it exploding.

1. Safety recall notice indicative of air bag problem. Took to dealer. He said that it has been fixed after an hour of stay for passenger inflator-and when noticed while driving back, the airbag light came again. Prior to this also, this problem was notified a few years ago, and I got it fixed. Dealer asking money for doing diagnostics and then fixing it. 2. Front and rear bumper clips fixed several times-4 times spending my own money but always a problem.

If the vehicle is involved in an accident, the driver side airbag will not deploy.

9 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2003 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/17/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light would remain illuminated. The contact indicated that the failure had occurred after service was performed to replace the air bag inflator. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer Honda of stevens creek(4590 stevens creek blvd, san jose CA. ) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 129,000. Jft.

10 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2003 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/20/2019

The passenger side airbag inflator has been recalled. I can replace it free. But the replacement will be an act of futility because the srs light is on, the sensor is probably broken, and if there is an accident the air bag won't go off. (I have not scheduled the pointless act. ) I spoke to someone in complaints. If the srs light is due to a sensor problem, replacement will cost another $1900. Dealers are privately owned and they charge what they charge. Never mind the fact that Honda makes the sensor and prices them high. That, in turn, forces dealers to charge a lot.

11 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2001 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/18/2019

In the past I received a notice in the mail detailing an airbag inflator safety recall containing my car's VIN number. When I called the local Honda dealer to get it replaced, they stated that my car was not actually affected in the recall and a replacement would not be needed. I received another notice in the mail and when I called the dealer this time they confirmed that in fact my car needs replacements. My complaint is that I have been driving my car thinking it was safe, based on the Honda dealership's word, when in fact it has not been safe to drive.

12 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/03/2019

I was told my car needs an inflator but that it is not covered under recall. Why does this car have an airbag issue that is not covered? 802 Honda, in montpelier vt has replaced the drivers seat belt buckle twice and each time the airbag light goes out but now they say it needs a right side airbag inflator in the seat which is not covered by the recall and they gave me a repair estimate (range) of $1,000 to $1,500. This is a safety issue and should therefore be covered by recall. Additionally, there was a recall on the visors which fall into the line of sight when driving as a result of splitting apart which should also be covered but there was an expiration on that recall. The safety issue is the same regardless of whether the car is six years old or 16 and regardless of the mileage so this too should be covered by the manufacturer.

13 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/24/2019

Takata recall July 06, 2019 about a year ago my airbag light came on while I was driving the vehicle, but it turned off immediately. It never came back on until recently and the airbag light stays lit on the dash. My vehicle in question is a 2009 Honda Civic. The airbag code I get when I scan the vehicle is a "code 33-10 open in the left side curtain airbag first inflator. " airbags in vehicles should not go bad for no reason especially curtain airbags. This airbag went bad (defective). I went online and I saw that a lot of people have issues with the same issues as I do on Honda vehicles. I was about to sell my car and now that the airbag light came, then I will not be able to sell my vehicle. My 2009 Honda Civic had 115,000 miles when the airbag light first came on in the dash. I would really appreciate that someone looks into this matter. This issue should be a recall. Thank you.

14 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2015 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/20/2019

Intermittent check air bag system warning. Randomly comes on while driving. Started about June 2019. Took in to dealer to check but they could not find an error code. Warning did not show again until may 2020. Has happened more often since but is still intermittent. While the warning was on took to dealer and had it checked while car was still running. Read an error code of b0001:13, open or increased resistance in the driver's airbag first inflator. Warning has not come on since then. Made an appointment with dealer to check system again. Code seems to reset and clear on its own.

16 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/22/2019

Nhtsa recall # 16v346 was issued on July 20, 2016 to replace faulty airbags that split on impact. This notice only replaced the passage side air bag. I assumed the drivers side would be replaced at a later date but as yet haven't received a notice. According to the Honda airbag inflator recall center, mailed notification to replace the drivers airbag will begin in April 2019, but I have not received a recall notice. I'm a senior citizen, 90 yrs old and still driving independently. An impact with a faulty airbag deployment would be devastating and possibly fatal. This is my formal claim to have my drivers airbag replaced as soon as possible. Thank you.

20 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/30/2018

Takata recall: I have had an airbag light on several times. I was told by the dealership it is an inflator code and I will have to pay for a $1,200 repair. On two occasions the seatbelt was replaced. Somedays my light is on, others it is not. There is a recall and there is a technical bulletin but my car is "not impacted" that is untrue. It absolutely is. The vehicle is presenting the same codes as those in these bulletins and recalls and it should be repaired at Honda's expense, not mine. Furthermore, the driver side sun visor is broken but it was not repaired before the end date of the recall (I did not own it then) and now that I own it I am told it is not eligible. I contest, the issue is as much of a safety issue for myself and others on the road in 2018 as it was when it was issued. This too shoulde be replaced at Honda's expenxe not my own. The airbag light goes on and off at will when moving, on city street or highway, turning or going straight. The sun visor does not go out of my line of sight as a result of the failure. This too happens anytime, any where, at any speed, and on any road.

21 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/10/2018

2006 Honda Civic lx. Consumer writes in regard to Honda airbag inflator safety recall notice. The consumer stated the dealer and manufacturer refused to honor the air bag recall repair also, the air conditioner would blow hot air.

22 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/02/2018

Complaint: srs light illuminated - cause 32-1-x (x=0-9/a-f) open or increased resistance in the right side airbag inflator. Repair is not covered by Honda because "right side airbag inflator (in the seat, not the dash) not covered under the warranty extension" - repair estimate quoted at "around $1,200" at this point, the only issue is the light is on. This is true anytime the ignition is in the on position regardless of vehicle disposition. I opened a case with Honda USA (case number 09737616, and they denied coverage.

23 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2003 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/05/2018

Takata inflators, while driving or sitting still, engine light comes on & stays on, brakes faulty while driving loud noise, and I have to press down hard on the brakes for it to slow down, driving/stabilized low visibility due to lights, it's very hard to tell if the lights are on our not inside & outside the vehicle, while driving noticed the brakes are unstable. Air bag sensor is always on, open door indicators don't work, drove car and door wasn't fully closed although I knew I closed the door fully, driving on the highway, and driver side door opened unexpectedly. Trunk door opens unexpectedly, trouble keeping it closed, gas door doesn't open/close properly. Loud noise in motion, trouble picking up speed.

24 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/09/2018

Takata recall. My airbag inflator has gone out. I had seen a sensor go off about it and I had gotten a notice from you about a recall. I took it to the shop and they gave me a quote of $1022. 55. The vehicle was in motion when the sensor went off.

25 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2004 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/14/2017

Received a recall notice on my 2004 Civic stating the driver's airbag inflator needed to be replaced. Took it to the closet dealership. After an inspection of the vehicle I was told they were unable to perform the recall due to airbag belongs to a different year Civic and recall is not valid. When purchasing the used vehicle I was not informed of that the airbag had been replaced. After receiving another notice that I had not completed the safety recall I took it again to the dealership, along with the written safety recall notice. Again I was told my vehicle did not have the original air bag installed. I have received a third notice about the recall from Honda and do not understand why the dealership did not report this information on my vehicle. How do I know that the airbag in my vehicle is safe?.

26 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2003 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/18/2017

Takata recall: there have been numerous times where I have either called or went to a Honda dealership to have the airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger side, fixed to avoid harm to myself or others. In almost three years, I have not once heard back about the dealership receiving parts to fix the issue. I have never received notice, nor was I told about the recall with the wiring harness terminal for the low beam headlights. Honda needs to fix this issue because it is a huge safety hazard that can get people killed or seriously injured.

29 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2001 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/02/2017

Takata recall - I had recall notice . - 7/13 - hennessy Honda - woodstock, GA ( invoice # hocs623783) passenger airbag inflator was installed). At that time my mileage was 117,706. In sept. 2017 I took car to Honda carland - alpharetta, GA (where I purchased the car in Aug. , 2001) as the srs light would not turn off. Mechanic was able to turn it off. In Dec. 2017 both srs light and side airbag lights would not go off. I was told that the opds unit and sensor were bad internally, causing code 15-3 - need to be replaced, and quoted me over $1000 to do so. I believe this is related to the recall that was received and supposedly fixed in 2013. . I feel that Honda should replace the passenger side airbag assembly. Both lights still remain on, and I am hesitant to let anyone sit in the passenger side seat.

30 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2012 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

My check air bag light has been on and off again for months. After several visits to the dealer they determined the inflator is the issue and I need to pay for it as it is not affected by the recall. I completely disagree with this and feel it is impacted by the recall.

31 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/31/2017

Takata recall. I received a safety recall notice in March 2017 and have contacted Honda of santa monica, 1414 18th street, santa monica, CA 90404-2804, phone (310) 264-4900, to make an appointment to replace the airbag inflator. The dealer has not responded to my repeated requests for an appointment.

32 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/13/2017

Takata recall. I have received notice that the airbag inflator has to be repaired/replaced in my Honda. I will not under any circumstances use any of the Honda dealers/service centers in my area because they all discriminate against the disabled (I am disabled). I have asked Honda to allow me to use my own service station instead. They have refused. This is an important safety issue and Honda's primary concern should be to fix this problem but they seem unwilling to do so in this case. Furthermore, since they have refused to take any action against the dealerships, it is my belief that Honda condones discrimination against the disabled.

33 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Takata recall may 23,2016 manufacturer recall numberka5 NHTSA recall number16v-346 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary american Honda motor CO. , inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2006-2011 Honda Civic vehicles. According to the equipment defect notifications (16e-042 and 16e-043) filed by takata, the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. Safety risk in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury to vehicle occupant. Remedy the remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. Failure Date: 01/12/2017

Takata inflators - we have not received notification from manufacturer for airbag recall and fix.

35 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/10/2017

Takata recall (drivers side airbag): on January 10, 2017 at approximately 11am, driver started vehicle, pulled out of a parking lot, drove about 10 feet and the drivers side airbag deployed. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, nor did driver hit or run into any object on the road. Weather conditions were about 35-40 degrees, partly sunny skies. Vehicle was taken to a local Honda dealer, who stated the computer system shows impact conditions caused the drivers side airbag sensors to fire the airbag. After reporting the incident to my insurance company, the insurance adjuster inspected the vehicle at the Honda dealer, reporting the issue as "electronic failure". The adjuster's report also states there was no impact that caused the airbag to deploy. There is a recall for the passenger airbag inflator (NHTSA recall # 16v-346), which was replaced at no cost. However, the drivers airbag inflator is not covered (estimate of repair approx. $3,200). If the driver were 5 more minutes down the road, driver would have been on a 45 mph road. If anyone else has had an issue with the drivers side airbag, please inform the NHTSA.
