Takata recall: I took my car to poway Honda (poway, CA 92064). They charged me a diagnostic fee to fix this recall. I don't think it was fair that I have to pay a diagnostic fee, this should have been covered by the recall. My wife had taken the car to drop it off at the dealer. The dealer called me telling me that the srs light was on when my wife dropped it off (I later found out from my wife that they were lying about this - the srs light was not on when she dropped it off). They told me that since fixing the recall didn't cause the light to go off there was something else wrong and they needed to run additional diagnostics for which they charged me $120. 88. After running the diagnostics they said that it was something wrong with the passenger side airbag inflator. . . I told them that was what the recall was for, then he quickly changed his story a couple of times from it being the drivers side airbag and then the passenger again. It sounded a little suspicious, and my suspicions were confirmed after talking to my wife, who stated that the srs nor any other warning light was on.

Takata recall american Honda motor CO. , inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2006-2011 Honda Civic vehicles. According to the equipment defect notifications (16e-042 and 16e-043) filed by takata, the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. There has not been an accident or crash, but I received a letter from my insurance company asking me to look to see if this car was affected by the recall. Should I be replacing the airbags in this car?.

Takata inflators -- airbag recall letter received July 2016 which said parts would be available in late summer/fall. Letter said "Honda will send you another letter when parts become available to repair your vehicle". It's mid December now and have not received a "parts available" letter from Honda. Very inconvenient to "avoid having passenger in front passenger seat". Just called local dealership and they say they have had parts for quite some time. They don't know why Honda never sent the second letter. In the meantime, we have been at risk and inconvenienced. This is a big mistake on their part and there should be follow up.
Takata recall --took my vehicle to the dealer big star Honda in houston, for the recall to fix the air bags as per their appointment schedule on 11/21/2016 9:15am, (it took me 3 tries to schedule the appointment becauase the parts were not available). The promise was it will be ready by 3 hours -- but around 4. 15 pm my car was ready to be picked up as I drove of the parking lot into the feeder road of the highway I 45 south I noticed the red airbag light and engine light come on --- I called the dealer on my cellphone right then as I was driving home tried 3 different numbers left messages called again this morning (11/22/2016) no response I opened up another case number with Honda parent company case # 03744997. There is no visible sign on the airbag area to show if they did any work to exchange the inflator; the recall was for both passanger and driver side air bag.

Takata recall on August 19, 2016, we took our Honda to the dealer to have the airbag inflator replaced under the recall. Our dealer ran into a problem with a mounting bolt (apparently a bolt was cross-threaded and twisted off). A call to Honda America confirmed the entire air bag would then have to be replaced. Our dealer ordered the part that day. And has of this writing not yet received the air bag from Honda America. Our dealer gave us a loaner car for two months, but then took it back and gave us our car back, without a front passenger-side airbag, on October 31, with instructions to not put a passenger in the front seat. (in order to get my car back, I had to sign a statement on the work order saying I had refused a repair, but I was not offered a repair to refuse. I had to sign the work order or not get my car back. ) just prior to the dealer calling and taking the loaner back, I wrote a letter to Honda America about the delay in delivering the replacement airbag. I have received no reply. So it has been four and one-half months my car has been waiting on a replacement air bag. As far as I can tell, this is a problem with Honda America; I believe my dealer has acted in good faith. Attachments: - original recall notice - work order from my dealer - my letter to Honda America.
Takata inflators: the following is concerning my 2008 Honda Civic and Honda's failure in their recall campaign: 23 may 2016: Honda issues recall concerning vehicles in my model year and suggest I check my VIN against their database of recalled vehicles to see if my specific vehicle is affected. 27 may 2016: I contact Honda with VIN to see if my vehicle is affected. I am told that it is not. 27 July 2016: receive letter in mail saying a recall was issued on my vehicle on 23 may. 28 July 2016: I contact Honda again and they confirm that there is a recall on my vehicle. I was told that their system had not updated the new information when I called 4 days after the recall was issued. In the days immediately following a recall issue is most likely when consumers are to check to see if their product is affected. If databases are not updated to reflect current information, many consumers, like myself, may have been driving around for the past two months with dangerous air bags even though they did their do diligence to research their vehicles. Honda's suggestion to check your VIN against their recall database was an insufficient solution to the airbag issue. Honda's failure to update recall databases (until sometime after 27 may 2016) following the issue of their recall on 23 may 2016 was dangerously negligent.

Honda has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicles safefty exists in certain 2006 2011 model year vehicles the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over aggressive combustion in the event the air bag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material possibly causing injury to vehicle occupant. This is important safety recall I take mi Honda at dealer direct auto plaza on 7/26/16 and never recive notice regarding fix the problem only they say you need to wait today is 9/27/16 is very important Honda automobile division take responsability for this defect.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags) for the front passenger side inflator; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Takata recall NHTSA recall # 16v-346 this is not a complaint against my Honda dealership. Rather, it is a query of the utmost importance. The dealership is due to replace the takata passenger air bag inflator on July 16. How will I be able to determine whether the replacement part is not defective and most importantly whether the installation was done correctly. Thank you. Honda has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2006-2011 model year Civic vehicles. The propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. This problem could lead to possibly causing injury to vehicle occupant. American Honda has or the dealer has failed or is unable to remedy the defect in my vehicle without charge, within a reasonable period of time (60-days from the date I was first contacted for repair appointment in July 2016).
I received a letter in July 2016 (official date may 23, 2016) detailing an important safety recall on my 2006 Honda Civic. The problem is that "the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. " the letter goes on to explain that this could cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag cushion and harm the vehicle occupant. The only option given in the letter is to avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. According to the letter, the parts were supposed to be available by now. I am concerned for my safety and other people's safety as they ride in my car. ** much time has passed, and I expect immediate repair free of charge. ***.
"takata recall"letter received July 2016 front passenger. "Honda suggest to avoid having passenger sit in the front seat. " Honda notification inflator recalls will be available late summer/fall of 2016. I still have not received any updates from Honda regarding recall.
It sure if it is a takayuki inflators recall - but the notice from Honda indicated that the repair would be available later summer or fall. It is now late December and I have lost the use of my front passenger seat with no update as to when this will be rectified. I have owned 6 Hondas and this may be the last. It is pathetic that we cannot even get an update. I want a car where all the seats are usable!!!.
Takata recall--I received a letter from Honda about a recall on my 2009 Honda Civic NHTSA recall 16v-346. It stated that propellant wafers in some of the inflators my degrade over time, which could cause injury to the passenger, and not to allow anyone to ride in the passenger seat. This was in July 2016. The recall is still not repairable according to the website. Four months is excessive to ask me to not use my passenger seat!! I need the car fixed, so my passenger will be safe.
Takata recall - my complaint is with the amount of time it is taking for parts to become available to repair a Honda Civic I purchased for my daughter and her family. I received a letter in July 2016 indicating that the 'remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016'. I also was advised I would receive another letter when the parts were available. Until such time as the vehicle is repaired I was advised: "Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. " as of today, December 30, 2016, I have not received the 2nd letter. It is extremely stressful for a mother to have her child sit in the front passenger seat when she knows this poses a danger. However, when the car is used for a single mom with three children, there are no other options. I feel Honda should compensate families by providing a safe rental car until parts are available to repair the car affected by the recall. Thank you for reading my concern.
Takata recall. Honda gave notification in July 2016 that the passenger airbag needed to be replaced. "Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair can be performed. " this is unacceptable. Honda said that "the remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. " it is now November and parts are still not available. This is unacceptable. Honda needs to provide a replacement vehicle if they cannot provide the necessary repairs in a timely manner.
"takata recall" important safety recall sent from Honda, but no resolution. "propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. In the event of inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury to the vehicle occupant. " Honda has sent this "important safety recall information," but has not had any resolution for the problem. Must drive car daily and driving in fear for possible mishap or injury.
Takata recall recall for passenger frontal airbag inflator was issued 5/23/16. Recall noted that remedy parts would become available late summer/fall of 2016. I have contacted Honda and was told parts still are not available. It has now been 8 months with no remedy available, which is extremely troublesome as Honda recommends that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. I would like to sell the vehicle, but fear I will not be able to, or will have to accept a much lower sale price, due to the open recall.

Takata recall - passenger airbag inflator.
I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic in April of 2016, after I was in an accident where both of my front air bags deployed. Shortly after purchasing the 2008 Honda Civic I discovered there was a front passenger airbag recall. I immediately called my local Honda dealership. They took down my information and said that they would call me when the airbag can be fixed. The recall letter states in the event of a passenger frontal airbag inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, potentially resulting in injury to vehicle occupants. The risk of such occurrence increases over time. it has now been a year since I reported the recall and have yet to be contacted to have it fixed. Due to my recent accident where both airbags deployed, I fear that I am in danger and this is the car that I have to drive daily. I have tried contacting Honda about my concerns and they have not responded. I just want them to buy my unsafe car back from me so that I can buy a safe vehicle to drive.

I received a recall notice from Honda saying ". . . Have your vehicle's driver's front airbag inflator replaced, at no cost to you. " this is part of NHTSA recall 14v-351 I go to the dealer - ken harvey's dublin Honda and they say they will inspect the air bag and if it is not a tanaka inflator, then it will not be replaced. I show them the recall notice saying it would be replaced. The service rep said that per Honda, they only inspect and if it is not a tanaka, then it will not be replaced. Either american Honda motor and or the NHTSA should clarify this recall notice. Honda knows exactly which car I have and should know which inflator I have. The recall notice says they will replace it, but they now claim it is not a tanaka inflator and they will not replace it.

I took vehicle for air bag inflator recall, driver side and passenger side, at autonation Honda 385, in memphis, TN. They have done this work on June, 23, 2015. But dealer states new srs unit needed at my cost of about $ 800. 00, otherwise airbag is not going to come out at the time of accident . I called Honda, headquater, they refuse to replace srs unit. I am still at safety risk of driving vehicle if air bag is not going to work. I fill the issue of air bag and srs unit both are connected to each other for air bag to work at the time of accident, and Honda should replace srs unit also under safety recall with air bag replacement campaign.

2005 Honda Civic. Consumer writes in regards to the airbag inflator replacement parts recall notice. The consumer stated the dealer kept her vehicle for 15 minutes. They inspected the vehicle, but did not replace the part. The consumer stated the air bag light was still on and the dealer informed her it would cost $109 to diagnose the problem. The consumer was under the impression, the part would be replaced, free of charge.
I took my car in for service to my local dealership on 3/23/15, which I booked online. I was able to book my recall service for the airbag inflator online as well, which no issues. I was asked when I brought in the car if I had called to order parts, I had not as there was no indication when I booked that I needed to do so. I was simply told parts would be ordered for me and they would let me know when they were in. After two weeks I called the dealership to inquire on my ordered parts, I was told parts can take "2 to 3 days or one to two months" to get in due to a backlog. I contacted Honda via social media and was told that someone would be in touch with me. Two weeks later I still have yet to receive parts, hear from my local dealership or hear from anyone in Honda's customer service department. My initial recall notice indicates this is a potentially life-threatening, dangerous issue that needs to be addressed, and yet despite my best efforts I am still stuck with faulty parts and no timeline for repairs. A two month wait for parts in a dangerous recall is irresponsible and potentially leaves me liable in the event of an accident involving these parts as I have been notified of their danger but otherwise unable to replace them.
My Honda has the bad air bag inflators that can break apart and injure occupants and cut the air bag. The recall to replace these inflators is listed on the Honda web site as only applying to vehicles in hot/humid climates. That was supposed to change. I have not received a recall notice because I live in wyoming. I want to know why Honda hasn't recalled all affected vehicles, regardless of location.
