Passenger airbag replaced from recall and driver side air bag not replaced is not in recall. The show marketplace on cbs did a segment on dealership ripoffs and came across the air bag(s) issue on a 2008 Honda Civic. (takata) is the company for said airbags. Same make and model as mine. Has metal shards need to be replaced was not recalled. This is a safety concern and should be addressed while the recall is out. These airbags can go off at anytime while driving or sitting.

Takata recall - this is crazy. . . I first had to have the driver's side airbag recall done on my vehicle. Now years later I need to bring the car back in for the passenger side recall. Next it will be some other part. If something happens to my car with these airbags, I am not only going after Honda and takata, but the regulators. You all need to be making sure people are safe. Too many people are impacted by this. You all need to have the manufacturer do a complete inspection on anything pertaining to the airbags!.

Driver side airbag warning came on while in motion on a city/town street, stayed on while braking, turning and stayed on while driving. Due to the warning the car was driven slower then the speed limit for safety concerns. Car has a takata airbag. It went off on the day we took it to the dealer. They scanned the unit and found error "b0001-13" . They supplied a printed out report after replacing the airbag and added a hand written comments, "the harness passes the box test and the clock (un-readable hand printed word) passes the box test. ".

Not involved in any accident. Bought the vehicle used and title was salvaged. Passenger side airbags were deployed prior to purchase. I took the car into hobda to see about this recall and wanted them to reolace the airbags. They did jot due to the fact that they were deployed already.

My daughter was driving my car and hit a pot hole on a 2 line highway, then the tire blew out causing all the side airbags and steering wheel air air bags to deploy. The car did not hit anything else nor was involved in a collision accident.

There is a hole in rear passenger side air bag. Brought this up to Honda and they don't seem to think it's an issue I don't think I wanna find out if it will be an issue this hole was not there before and it just happened thru no fault of our own. Honda telling me to fix it on my own.

Takata recall. Honda refuses to come to my climate controlled garage and replace my recalled passager side air bag activator-seems maybe discrimination- age related. Maybe- or maybe just mean.

Car lost control on the road and moved outside of the road when the side air bags got deployed. When they got deployed the air bags did not inflate. This has caused the head to be hit on the windows of the car pretty hard. How could it happen that the air bags god deployed but no air got inflated into the airbags. They just fell as if a cloth \ curtain was coming out without inflating. Attached pictures should give you an idea.

Tl- the contact owned a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving about 55 mph, the contact lost control and the vehicle crashed into a guard rail and flipped over a couple of times without warning. All the air bags deployed except the driver's side air bag. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was totaled and was towed away by the insurance company. The failure mileage was about 100,000. Fe.
Honda finally replaced the passenger side takata airbag on 1/18/2018 but not the driver's side? I have been hit in the rear by 2 cars since buying this car in 2010. No airbag inflated but every time I drive this car I am terrified of the airbag situation. Why aren't they replacing the driver side airbag too? my anxiety grows every time I have to drive somewhere.
The passenger side airbag sign keeps coming out to tell the driver the airbag is disabled sometimes when there is a person who sits on the passenger side of the vehicle. Also received a recall of months ago but the dealer keeps saying everything is fine no recall on the list. It happened since the day I purchased in 2012 and it happens very often recently.
Upon occasion, this message appears on the alert panel passenger side side airbag failed (yes the word side appears twice) it does not stay on long - usually when I restart the car it goes away. I have not taken a picture of the alert. I have asked a service rep (non Honda) about it when I have taken it in for service. They could not find anything. The alert does stay on when the vehicle is put in motion. The date I entered below for when it last occurred is an estimate.
Takata recall I was driving at about 15 to 20 miles an hour in a empty parking lot an went over a parking curb. The drivers side airbag opened up and hit my chest causing minor powder burns to my right arm and a small cut. The car had no damage and came to imediate stop before another curb in the lot.
The vehicle display a message stating, "passenger side airbags off" both at rest and in motion. The message appears and remains on for a few seconds and then disappears. The Honda service team is unable to identify a failure as they feel it is working as designed. If a person moves while seated in the passenger seat, this message appears. Per a Honda representative, this is a user error as they expect a person will sit entirely still for the whole ride. Any movement can cause that message to appear.
Side airbag needs to be replaced based on dealer diagnostic.

Passenger side air bag turns off giving large trouble lights on dash happens weekly.
I was heading home on 4/30/2017 approx 2 mins away when my car was cut off from another SUV cut infront of me. She misjudged the distance and my car immediately crashed into her car. I was going about 45 mph maybe a little more. After the crash my car had completely stopped and the driver side air bag did not deflate all the way.

As I was driving straight down rt 102 west bound in rhode island, in the left lane of a two land road in roughly the 30 - 40 mph range with my 7 month old toddler in the car seat in the back seat, the side air bags on the driver's side of the car deployed while the car was in motion for no apparent reason. My car was not in an accident and did not hit a pot hole or a bump in the road. It was a smooth drive up until I head a loud bang and was smacked in the side of the head while driving the car, when the side air bags deployed. My driver's side seat belt is locked up as well. I was left with a temporary red mark on my neck and a ringing in my ears. After 3 hours the hearing in my left ear has yet to return back to normal. I do not know why the driver's side airbags deployed or what component is the cause. This incident engaged my safety and the safety of my child.

When I stoped at a stop sign, my airbag deployed, knocking me unconscious. I proceeded to hit a tree going at an accelerated speed. I was airlifted by helicopter to a trama hospital. I had 3 fractured ribs, a broken sternum, and 4 broken bones in my lower back. I freceived a call back on the passenger side airbag. This accident was because of fraud from takata, and Honda. My car should've been recalled.

Recall was dated 5/23/2016 to replace the passenger side air bag. I was notified this past summer that the parts were not available but I would be notified late summer/fall of 2016. It is now 1/11/2017 and I have not received a notification from them to replace the air bag. This is not acceptable since I can not have a passenger ride along until this is fixed. I would like this fixed ASAP or know what kind of compensation can be made. Thank you.
I keep getting the light of "side air bag off" on my dash come on and off. It has been doing for about 1yr.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. While the vehicle was stationary, the passenger side air bag failed to register an occupant seated in the passenger seat. Gunn Honda (14610 I-10, san antonio, texas 78249) was not able to duplicate the failure. The dealer, however, disconnected the sensor cable in the front passenger seat and reconnected it, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was designed in that manner. The failure mileage was approximately 11,500.

Takata recall- I received a letter from Honda July 2016 about the passenger side airbag having a defect/being recalled and needing to be replaced (recall was issued may 23, 2016(https://vinrcl. Safercar. Gov/VIN/vinlookup)-so the notification about the recall took a few months alone). The solution given was to avoid having a passenger in the car. The letter stated that parts would be available late summer/fall of 2016. I called today, 10/28/2016 @ 09:06 est, speaking to a representative named jessica and was told they are still manufacturing parts and I would get a notice when they are available. As a family of 4, being told that there is something wrong with your car and recommended that you should not have a passenger in the front but they have no idea when your vehicle would be fixed is not acceptable. If they know there is an issue, they need to get it fixed in a timely fashion. If they have no idea when the parts are going to be made available then they need to provide an alternate vehicle until the recall can be fixed.
Takata recall I received a letter in July announcing the recall of my passenger side airbag. I immediately called the dealer, ocean Honda of santa cruz, and they told me they would call me back when they had information. I received no call back and today called american Honda where I was assigned a case number 04991690. They told me the dealer should have had access to the proper parts long before now and that I should contact ocean Honda for further information. I left a telephone message at the service department during business hours and they never called me back.
I used your site to see if there was any recalls on this car and your site said there are 0 recalls. So there for your site is false and does not keep an accurate track of recalls. This specific car and others have had recalls on the passenger side air bag.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. While driving 10 mph, the front passenger side air bag deployed inadvertently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 121,000.
Takata recall - I received a notice from Honda that my airbag has been recalled. I called to schedule an appointment to have it fix. I was told by superior Honda that it will be a few weeks before the part is available and another few weeks until they can get my car in to be fixed. I was then told that it's not that big of a deal since it was just my passenger airbag. I explained to the service tech that if it wasn't a big deal there wouldn't have been a recall on the part. He then told me that there was nothing else he could do for me. He could not provide me with a rental car but continued to tell me that it was no big deal and if I had any further questions to call Honda corporate office. I understand that it is the passenger side airbag but I feel like they should have been able to provide me with a date of when this issue would be resolved. I understand that this recall effected many vehicles but this issue is not being resolved as fast as it should be. I have spoken to many people who have the same issue and many of them have been provide with rental cars due to the fact it going to take longer than normal to fix. I feel like superior Honda could have done more for me instead of telling me that it was "no big deal". I am very unhappy with this dealership.

Nhtsa recall 16v-346: I received a letter from Honda informing me of a safety recall involving the propellant wafers in the passenger side airbag of my vehicle that could cause injury to a vehicle occupant. Honda is not offering to provide alternative transportation, the letter states that until parts are available to make a repair later in the summer I should not have anyone sit in the passenger seat. This is unacceptable. This is our family car, my young daughter sits in the back seat behind the passenger seat, we often have a second child in the back of the car, and a large dog. We can't possibly avoid using the passenger seat when the back seat is full, and our other car is too small to accommodate everyone. When I requested a rental car from my local dealership for the period until the repairs were made, it was denied. I contacted Honda and had to submit a request for alternate transportation and was told a case worker would contact me in 2 weeks or so. I think this is all absurd. They are implying that an airbag recall on the passenger side is not as hazardous as one on the driver's side, and also that a reasonable solution is to just not use the passenger seat. This is not an acceptable response, and it has left my family in danger until the repairs can be made, whenever that will be. No estimated time line has been given.
I received a passenger side air bag recall notice July 23, 2016. Upon research, Honda recall website states notices will go out june23? why was my notice not received until 30 days later? additionally- we are supposed to receive another notice "late July to August". And the notice says do not let anyone sit in the passenger seat until further notice? that is unacceptable! between car pool, taking kids to school, taking kids to sports practices- where are they all supposed to sit? if you cannot expedite repairs, parts, or the recall notice, a free rental should be available. The liability position you have just placed yourself in is absolutely traumatic. I have been hearing about tanaka air bags for over a year and all the associated injuries and deaths-- and we just now receive notification?? and now your telling us to wait more time for another notice? do people's lives not matter to you, Honda, or tanaka? I hope this and other emails are used in court so complete a class action lawsuit against everyone involved. God forbid anything happen to my kids- and to rectify the issue, and save lives- you are simply saying "here is a late notice- OH ya, and we can't do anything but we'll let you know at a later time. ".
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags) for the front passenger side air bag; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
