Failure Date: 07/20/2016

Takata recall: I am trying to determine whether I need to take my 2011 Honda Civic sedan in to check the air bags and possibly replace them. I thought the most recent recall notices cited the Honda Civic 2011 passenger side airbag as a potential problem. I have not had any accidents or malfunctions so far, but I am very concerned.

38 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/08/2016

"takata recall" I received a letter on July from Honda saying that the air bags recall had been extended to include my car's passenger side air bag. They joyfully say that they will not have a replacement part until September or October, so they ask me in the meantime to avoid taking any passenger in my car. Are these guys high? if having this defective air bags is worse and more dangerous than not having one, what about have them (Honda) either deactivate or remove this faulty piece of equipment and let me use my car as I please and take all the passengers that I want without having them killed by their mistakes?.

40 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2012 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/02/2016

"takata recall" I was driving Honda Civic 2012 on a frontage road with my wife sitting on the front passenger seat . Unfortunately, other car crashed in my Honda Civic 2012 and driver, passenger side air begs got deployed. Surprisingly, I got injury marks on my hand from the air bag. I suspect most likely there was some fault in my air bags which resulted in injury marks on my hand. I do see that 2012 Honda Civic cars are not part of takata recall but I suspect some of 2012 Honda Civic cars including mine could have faulty air bags installed from the manufacturer. Please take needful actions.

41 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/19/2016

Addendum: reference odi number: 10748966. As of 6/19/2016 my Honda Civic has a recall for the passenger side airbag (VIN verified). I am not suppose to let anyone sit in the passenger seat until a Honda dealer fixes it. So now I have no airbag and no seat belt on the driver's side (because it deployed without any reason). . . I also have a loaded time bomb on the passenger side that Honda wants to fix. . . But still no recall on the driver's airbag because Honda doesn't think it needs to be recalled. Why isn't the NHTSA making Honda recall 2008 Honda Civics for the driver side airbag? does someone have to die first? my god, the driver side airbag is ticking time bomb! vr.

43 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

Takata recall: the dealership is not calling me to replace the passenger side airbag and/or piece that needs replacing. This is our family vehicle and we need the vehicle to travel from tucson, az to lodi, CA for the christmas holiday, 2016. It is dangerous to have a passenger in the front seat. It was supposed to be remedied by fall, 2016. I am ready to sue Honda!! I need an immediate fix for the vehicle or a replacement vehicle to use until my vehicle is fixed. Honda is not offering to give me a replacement vehicle!!!! I cannot put a passenger in my vehicle for fear of causing their death if there should be a vehicle accident. What am I supposed to do now? I have contacted Honda, gone repeatedly to safercar. Gov, and I am getting no response! help please!.

44 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2012 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/21/2016

I don't know what a takata recall is, but per Honda's website I have no recalls. I was in an accident on 5/21 around 2pm. I was driving on a straight city road close to getting on the highway going about 25mph. The woman who was driving next to me "didn't see me" as she turned into my lane. She scraped the whole passenger side door then her car lodged into my car near where the door & front part of the car meet on the passenger side. The car hit right neat the side airbag, but none of the airbags went off. That is what I'm worried about. Why did none of the airbags go off?.

45 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/16/2016

Takata recall. I'm not sure what constitutes a timely recall or repair, but it's been 6 months since anybody has been able to sit in the front seat and I'm sick of looking like an uber driver. I'm also not convinced that the driver's side airbag is safe, and I'd rather not receive a molten hunk of metal through my neck for the sin of having a fender bender. All in all I am a very unhappy Honda owner. ,.

46 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2006 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/06/2016

There is a leak coming through driver side airbag when it rains. No body work or accidents in this car.

47 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/01/2016

The recall notice for this passenger side airbag problem recommends not having anyone sit in the passenger seat. It has been 9 months since this recall was announced and my local Honda dealer informs me that Honda still has no solution to the problem. Literally this defect can kill a person in the event of a low speed accident that triggers the airbag. This is a life and death matter and Honda has not fixed it in 9 months! in addition to making my car less safe, this defect presumably lowers the resale value of my vehicle.

50 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/01/2016

Takata recall I received a warning not to have a passenger sit in the front seat, but what about me, the driver? 53 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/13/2015

My son was driving my 2008 Honda Civic to college on highway 44 heading west at approximately 2:10 pm toward joplin mo. While driving west on 44, the driver side airbag suddenly deployed. My son said he heard a loud bang and his head was pushed back into the headrest. When the airbag deployed he immediately slammed on the brakes and ended off the road on the left side in the median. He was shocked and over whelmed that this occurred because he did not hit anything. A helpful person stopped and helped remove the deployed airbag. Soon afterward, state police arrived after another motorist called and confirmed no damage occurred to the car to warrant deployment of an airbag. My son then continued on to joplin. The following day, my son took the car to the Honda dealership in joplin. After inspection, the dealership claimed that a small hole in the front fender cause the airbag to deploy. . . They found grass and debris from the highway median around the damaged area. They were very uncooperative and more willing to blame the cause on my son rather than a defective airbag system that is known to be a problem in several other models. Indeed, while they are concerned about the cause and looking for other reasons. Meanwhile, we are more concerned and lucky that my son did not get killed in this incident! what about other sons, daughters and loved ones driving these time bombs. . . Are they going to be this lucky? the car suffered no collision and yet the airbag deployed which is the fact the Honda dealership is ignoring. I am more inclined to believe the airbag system is defective considering the history of the airbag systems. What more will it take for this issue to be resolved, more airbag deployments and more deaths? sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. 59 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2012 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/10/2014

I have had several issues with my airbag stating there is an airbag error in my car. I took it to Honda and they confirmed that in their computer it shows that there is something wrong with the driver side airbag but they don't know what. They told me in order to check it they would have to take the car apart and I will have to pay $300 up front just to check it. They also stated that it isnt covered in the warranty even though my car has never been in a car accident and it is a major safety issue. I have not been able to get it fixed because I cannot afford for them to even just look at my car. What is the point of having a 6 yr warranty coverage if Honda doesnt want to cover anything! over the summer I had a drainage leak that was coming from the electrical fuse in my car, guess what Honda did not care!. . . These days I think a bicycle would be the safest thing. . . Lol. . . Suffice it to say life is expensive and I don't think we will be getting a break. Thanks Honda for only caring about your sales & money and not caring about your customers safety! lives! families! wives! husbands! & childrens!.

I spoke to two different dealerships and they want to take apart my whole car and both also said completely different things.
