Takata recall: my wifes Honda airbag light has come on twice already, once while driving and once while parked. I caled Honda dealer and they said not to worry about it the vehicle is safe to drive. They cancelled my appointment to do the recall. Do we have to wait until my wife or myself gets hurt or killed before something gets done?? I believe Honda should at least provide a rental vehicle until this gets fixed. If Honda keeps denying to fix or stalling to get my wifes Cr-v taken care of, I will be forced to take legal action.
The red air-bag indicator began glowing steady red on March 22, 2016. On March 28, I took the vehicle to local Honda dealer to check on the problem. Their diagnostic test that indicates "internal failure of srs unit". This part apparently tells the airbag system whether or not someone is sitting in either / both of the front. The dealer's technician said that the bag 'may or may not deploy in an accident' and it is 'not likely' that the airbag will deploy while I am driving down the road. Apparently, Honda does not consider this sensor an integral part of the safety system. I can have a new unit installed for $574. 95. I was also required to pay for the diagnostic, $112. 30, since this is a part the manufacturer does not cover. I feel that as this sensor is a part that the consumer does not maintain and is an integral part of the safety system, as it connects directly to the airbag deployment. I believe that Honda should pay for this repair to the safety system as well as reimburse me for the diagnostic test. Both the driver and the passenger airbags may be affected in the event of an accident. Therefore, I wish to file a safety complaint against Honda, lejeune Honda cars in jacksonville, nc for failure to maintain the vehicle's safety system.

My airbag lights are on and I took it into Honda. They got the light to go off but it came back on again. They said I needed to replace the airbags??? I do not understand, I have owned Hondas for a long time and have never had this problem? why should I have to replace airbags when they have never been used?.

Vehicle purchased in Feb 2015. Honda crv - ex. Current miles - 11k purchased dealer - ocean Honda, new port richey, FL servicing dealer - hendrick Honda, bradenton, FL there was a ratcheting noise coming from the steering wheel every time I turn the wheel. This happened constantly during driving & making turns. Hendrick Honda in bradenton FL, tested it on 10/6/15 and mentioned that there is a steering wheel sensor that is causing this noise and needs to be replaced. They replaced it, but my steering wheel controls failed. I took it back in the next day on 10/7/15 and they fixed the steering wheel controls. The ratcheting noise came back a few days later and this time the dealership mentioned that they didn't dive deeper last time and the problem is with the steering wheel column. They had the vehicle for a couple of days and replaced the steering wheel column on 10/26/15. The noise went away, but another problem surfaced on 11/14/15. This time it was the airbag indicator light that constantly remain lit. The owners manual said that it is very important to get this checked out immediately. So, my car is back at the dealership on 11/16. Even the service advisors are stumped and say that this is unusual for a brand new 2015 Honda with 11k miles to have issues like this. I contacted american Honda today and have filed a formal complaint stating that the issues arising are threatening my safety as a driver of this vehicle and Honda sold me a car with serious manufacturing defects. They are investigating.

I took my car to get serviced and to have the airbags replaced following the recall. I was told that the airbags were replaced, but they were never in fact replaced. The airbag light continues to come on and I am continuing to receive notices from Honda that my airbags have not been replaced. I would appreciate to have a truthful answer and to have this situation fixed!.
I had the Honda airbag recall done on 8/3/2015. While driving the car on 8/6/2015, the srs system off indicator light came on and then went off. This light was not a problem before the recall was done but now has us wondering what is the status of our restraint system.
