Takata recall: March 2016 I received a letter from Honda re recall on driver's side airbags - was told to contact a local dealership (mckenny-salinas Honda) for replacement airbag and for rental car. Turned in my vehicle and procured rental 4/08/16. Returned to rental company to extend rental 5/25/16. Picked-up my vehicle from dealership 6/08/16. Received another letter from Honda in July 2016, this time re driver side airbag recall. Letter stated ". . . Passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. Honda will send you another letter when parts become available to repair your vehicle. " the letter also warned not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. I have not received any further documentation re repair/replacement of driver side airbag. To say I am frustrated and angry, at this point, 5 months later, is an understatement. I have been the owner of 2 other Honda vehicles and I must say, this is the first time I am utterly disappointed in the service, or, lack thereof, from Honda. Waiting for this recall has been an inconvenience that's not only affected me, but also my disabled aunt who depends on me for transportation to various destinations. It is very difficult for her to get in and out of the back seat of my crv as it is physically higher than the front passenger seat and because she suffers with chronic knee and back pain. Please advise on what steps I need to take to remedy this problem quickly. I've done my part by waiting patiently and I now I feel it is past time for Honda to do their part. Thank you.

Takata recall - I purchased a 2011 Honda Cr-v for my daughter as her primary vehicle. In early 2016 I received a letter from Honda information me of the takata airbag recall. The letter advised that the car should not be driven due to faulty airbags that have resulted in fatalities. The letter included a phone number to Honda. I have called Honda America countless times trying to resolve the issue. Initially I was directed to the dealer who I purchased the car from, then to the closest dealer to where my daughter lives during the school year. Next I was directed to follow up with Honda America. I have been going around and around with Honda America because they are willing to rent cars for vehicles affected by the airbag recall since the impacted cars are so dangerous to drive. The problem is that my daughter is 18 and major car rental companies do not rent to ¿under age¿ drivers in California. Honda has a website dedicated to this recall and on more than one page they state that they commit to ensuring that young driver have a seamless experience obtaining rental cars until their car is safe to drive again. That is not what is happening in my case. . Read more...

This is a safety issue, I transport my grandchildren in my car. The NHTSA recall number is 16v-344, dated June 2016. It is now November 2016.

2recalls associated with this VIN. 1. Jan 10,2017 manufacturer recall numberke1 NHTSA recall number17v-030 2. Jan 29,2016 manufacturer recall numberjy0 NHTSA recall number16v-061 the passenger frontal airbag inflator in your vehicle may rupture when deploying during a crash. Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. This vehicle was exported out of USA to spain when I moved to this country end of 2013. I have contacted Honda USA by telephone and Honda rejected the claim because the vehicle is out of the USA. I have also contacted Honda spain and they rejected the claim because the car was not purchased in spain. This car was manufactured by Honda in japan anyway. I am presenting this claim to the NHTSA asking for a solution. Sincerely. Rafael santaella email: pelikan2013@outlook. Com.
Takata inflators. I need assistance for my 82 year old mother. Her Honda is part of the recall for the takata inflator. Upon reading the instructions off the web site advising her to go to her local dealership. . To rent a car. . . She was turned away and told they had no cars available. I have called 2 additional dealers about the recall and was not given any information other than to call back. . . Every week. . . I was told by the 1-888-234-2138 # that there is a waiting list that the dealer must put you on and that each dealer has a pre negotiated rate with hertz or enterprise. . . . . So why would my mother be turned away from her local dealer and not assisted in this recall that is life threatening to Honda passengers? I feel like no Honda dealer really wants to be bothered by this recall.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that when the vehicle was taken to be serviced for NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v346000 (air bags) and 16v061000 (air bags), the dealer only replaced the inflator for the driver side air bag due to the passenger side air bag parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts unavailable.
Takata recalls - I contacted Honda dealer in first week of may 2016 and they didnt help. Then I contacted Honda customer care on 16-may-2016 to schedule my appointment for replacement of airbag inflators. They have not schedule any appointment since 15-may (more than 60 days).
Takata recall I have been waiting for three months to receive the driver side airbag inflator replaced with no end in sight. This is ridiculous to have to wait this long.
I visited my Honda dealer (crown Honda in pinellas park florida) on April 4th, 2016 in connection with important safety recall service bulletin #16-016 received from the automobile division of american Honda motor CO. , inc. Crown Honda's service advisor (james g. Mclaughlin) told me the part(s) necessary to fix my car will not be available until late summer 2016, but that I should not worry because the statistical probability of either myself or a passenger in my vehicle suffering any kind of harm or injury is highly remote. I mentioned that my vehicle is apparently at greater risk of the faulty part(s) failing because it is an older vehicle being operated in a very high humidity/high temperature environment - the tampa bay area of florida. Mr. Mclaughlin was still of the view I should not be too concerned as the whole recall matter had been blown out of proportion by NHTSA. But while driving yesterday I heard some unusually weird noises coming from where my driver and passenger front airbags are located and I was very fearful of an airbag inflator failure because it was a very hot humid day. My dealer has refused to confirm whether my vehicle will be receiving priority because of the high risk environment in which it is operated. Yesterday I called american Honda at 1-888-234-2138 and spoke with a customer service rep named emmit located in torrance CA and he too was unable to confirm whether my vehicle was on a priority list given its much higher risk of the part(s) failing. I need help from someone - please help me. Thank you.
Tacata air bag I received a notice dated March 2016 stating I should replace the driver's front airbag inflator. I called seattle Honda on April 15, 2016. They ordered the parts. As of July 6th the parts have not arrived. This is longer than the "reasonable period of time (60 days from the date you first contact the dealer for a repair appointment)" stated in the recall notice.

Takata recall hello, I just received a replacement vehicle while Honda waits to figure out how to fix the inflators. Fortunately, I did not get to test whether my vehicle was affected. However, instead of receiving a replacement small-size SUV, they gave me a mid-sized sedan in the interim. This is a poor trade, and I will incur additional costs as I have to move. Is there anything that can be done about it? I feel ripped off since I was apparently driving a frag-grenade around for the last few years.

2008 Honda Cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to replacement parts for airbag inflator recall notice not available for several months and consumer requests rental vehicle until repairs are complete.
My 2011 Honda Cr-v is part of the takata airbag inflator recall. I received a notice from Honda at the end of March 2016. It is now may 21, 2016. I have requested that american Honda motor CO. Inc. And ray laks Honda in orchard park NY (the dealership where I purchased the car) fix the defect. They have not.
Recall air bag inflator defect. I received recall letter which states that: "past ruptures hike this have killed and injured vehicle drivers. The letter also states that replacement part for recall is not available and "will become available in the summer of 2016". I do not feel safe, I asked for a courtesy vehicle similar to my own crv, which I need specifically for a family member 's needs. The Honda of toms river do not have any courtesy cars available and will only allow a rental which they get from enterprise. They said I would have to pay the security deposit and they would only pay up $35 per day, (but enterprize has no rentals at that price, as per enterprise) and then they said they would up it to $44 but that does not allow me a similar vehicle which I specifically need for family member. I called and spoke to corporate spending hours over 2 days, I went to toms river Honday, got a complete run around wasting another half day, and left there with my own vehical with a recall for air bag inflator that can kill me, as I wait for parts to come in sometime this summer. I am attaching the notice which supports my statements above. I did speak to the manager there, rich hoffman. I need to have a courtesy vehicle that is a crv or similar, but they will not pay allow it.

I have called the dealership 3 times to schedule an appointment and every time I'm told the parts are not available. It's been more than 60 days and still no appointment.

In March, 2016, I received a notice informing me that my car has an important safety recall concerning the front airbag inflator. In June I was notified by a local dealer that parts were ready to I could schedule the repair. I called and provided my name and the VIN # to order the part. Ten weeks later I still have not been contacted to schedule the repair. I have called and left messages regarding this issue. This is much too long to leave a customer driving a car with a problem that could cause injury or fatality. My local dealer is landmark Honda, alexandria, va.

Takata inflators rec'd safety recall notice March 2016, attempted to make appt with local dealership. Name placed on waitlist for airbag replacement. Multiple follow-up calls to make appt. For repair of airbags. Informed that airbag replacement kits are allocated to dealerships. . . Few are allocated to hawaii. Rec'd safety recall notice #2 in July. Inquired about repair of airbags. Still on waitlist four (4) months later. Rental car offered. . . Ideally, my car would be repaired in the next two weeks & I could go about my life and not worry about having an uxo in my car. Thank you very much.
I received a letter from Honda telling me the driver's front airbag inflator was defective. This was in March 2016. I have called hond repeatedly to get the airbag replaced and it has yet to be done.
2010 Honda Cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair driver airbag inflator recall notice.
Driver's front airbag inflator. I have been waiting for almost 3 months dor my driver's front airbag to be replaced due to the recall I received from Honda in early March 2016. I took my car for servicing in early may to a Honda dealer and my car was put on the waiting list for the driver's front airbag to be replaced but I have yet to hear from the Honda dealer regarding this recall. I recently called the dealer to inquire as to when my driver's side airbag would be replaced and I was told they still had not received the parts necessary to repair the recall on my vehicle. I asked how much longer I must wait and I was told they would call me. It's been three weeks since I called and I haven't hear anything. Now I receive another recall in mid July 2016 stating there is another recall on my car with the passenger front airbag which has the same exact problem as the driver's front airbag and that wont be fixed until late summer/fall. I feel very unsafe and uneasy driving my car in its current recall status. I don't think it's right that consumers should place their lives at risk driving unsafe cars. Honda should provide loaner cars until the recall can be completely fixed. Now I can't have anyone sitting int he passenger seat because it is unsafe and I am forced to drive my car in it's current condition because I have no other means of transportation.
Takata recall - received notice of takata inflator notice first part of March 2016, called dealership and was informed that parts would not be available until June 2016. I told them that I drive 500 miles per week and felt that this was very unsafe. It is now mid June and parts are still not available. I have now learned that they should have offered me a rental car. I am very unhappy that I have been driving an unsafe vehicle in texas, a high priority replacement area since March without remedy.
We were notified in March 2016 that the driver's front airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure upon deployment. This defective part has not been replaced as of this date, July 1, 2016. What pressure can be brought to Honda to correct this problem? how can I help?.
2010 Honda Cr-v. Consumer writes in regards to remedy not available within a reasonable amount of time to repair driver airbag inflator recall notice.
Recall filed in February 2016. No alternative vehicle has been provided by manufacturer, or dealership. No resolution provided, except for we will contact you soon. No contact has been made. Specifically, in some vehicles, the driver's front airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure upon deployment. If an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture (break apart) and deploy abnormally. Safety risk: in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing serious injury or fatality to you or others in the vehicle. Past ruptures like this have killed and injured vehicle drivers.
