1 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/17/2019

My son could have been killed or injured because of this vehicle. I bought this 2015 crv used with approximately 31,400. Miles. Checked the car fax no problems no accidents reported. The car dealer who inspected the car and serviced it. It had an oil job, battery, tires replaced. Drove it for 4 months with no problems. I am still under the power train warranty. Then December 17 the transmission failed while my 22 year old son was driving it on the roadway. Just lost powers. Someone eventually pushed his car off to the side of road and out of traffic. We had the car towed to joyce Honda. Although under warranty they refused to fix it. Said the car had only 1 gallon of transmission fluid. No leaks. There was no problems prior, no lights lite up on the dashboard warning us to service or check the engine. No fumes. We didn't even own the car long enough to need an oil job yet. I spoke to other mechanics who said it's defective. It could notbhave been driven for four months on one gallon transmission fluid. I know Honda has had many complaints with the same problem. It's a defective torgue converter that is burning off the transmission fluid. I have a case open with Honda but they refuse to honor my power train warranty. This is a $4800 repair! Honda needs to stand by its warranty.

2 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/02/2018

My new 2017 Honda crv ex that only has 6850 miles driven on it has a terrible defect with oil dilution issues due to fuel leaking into the oil pans causing overflow and dilution to the oil that is supposed to be lubricating the engine. The oil smells very potent of fuel and almost 1 quart of extra fluid was drained from the oil pan when taken into the dealer after reporting the issue. The dealer agreed that there was a major issue with fuel diluting into the oil but were told by the Honda corporate tech line that they were to just replace the oil until a fix comes out. The dealer technicians asked about changing the fuel injectors or maybe a cylinder head replacement but were told not to do anything. It is not safe to release these cars back to the owner knowing there is an defect issue that they didn't even really attempt to fix that is causing internal engine parts to break down faster than normal and could cause serious safety concerns due to eventual breakdowns leading to wrecks. The companies "fix" is to go in for an oil change every 500-1000 miles even though excessive fuel is still mixing with the oil. Honda has reported that this is happening in colder climates, but I am still having major issues with this in tennessee weather.

3 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

I purchased the vehicle with 16 miles on it; I bought it brand new. It leaked oil and transmission fluid all over my garage and while driving the car. I had a significant oil and transmission leak. Had to to tow the car to be repaired. The same issue happened again where it dumped all the oil out of the engine, and they had to fix it for a second time. They informed me there wasn't any oil left in my engine and this was right after an oil change. They said this never happens, but it did twice. My 36,000-mile warranty is almost up, and I have a feeling this is an ongoing issue. Last time it leaked, it took them three months to fix it. I paid a lot of money when I bought my first new car ever. It's a shame I bought a lemon, and I'm paying monthly for it. This issue needs to be addressed because my car start light always blinks on and off also, and they can't figure it out. Also, my touchscreen has frozen and let the radio on full blast while I was driving and wouldn't shut off on more than one occasion.

4 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2015 Honda CR-V

Transmission fluid leaking results in no power in driving on highway. Cost $5,000 to repairing. Could cause accidents if in traffic on free way. My son and I were luck just drove out of free way traffic jam and off ramp and stopped at traffic light.

6 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/06/2015

Noticed a whining sound while driving commonly associated with power steering control pump problems. Also noticed fluid leak spots on my garage floor when problem first started. We took the car in to the local Honda dealer to have it checked out & was told that the power steering hose was corroded as well as the "transmission" hose had rusted. We found it very unusual that a power steering hose would corrode given the fact that we bought the Honda new and it had been recently serviced and inspected at the cost of over $500. 00 last year. The Honda dealer found leaking power steering pressure hose and also replaced the cooler line which was too rusted. The cost for this repair was $762. 46!! we don't know if Honda used inferior quality hoses but it sure seems like it because I never had to replace my power steering hose for my 1994 Toyota pickup truck & have never had a problem remotely related to "corrosion" or "rusting" according to the Honda technician's service report. We were one of those customers that have a problem with the rear door actuator which will be repaired under a recent recall notice we received last week. This would have cost us $250. 00 to have the actuator problem fixed if we hadn't been notified!!.

7 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/12/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda crv. While driving 55 mph she heard a tapping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. She also noticed transmission fluid leaking. The vehicle would surge out of control when the brakes were applied. The dealer stated that the vehicle had not been welded properly. The dealer stated that they would need to take the vehicle to the body shop and replace the transmission. The current mileage was 3,158 and no failure mileage.

8 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2002 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/01/2004

My 2002 Honda crv has only been serviced by Honda dealerships. All maintanence has been performed according to their schedule, yet just after 50,000 miles the dealer says my transmission needs replacement. I was driving at 30 mph and accelerated to pass a car when the vehicle violently shuddered. I pulled over immediately to check the car and found no leaking fluid, no warning lights, but the sound of metal pieces rolling around the transmission when I depress the gas. . . Even with the vehicle in "park. " after so many recalls on this vehicle, not to mention other problems that ocurred and were repaired during the warranty, I do not feel confident in my purchase of this vehicle. If a transmission failure of this type were to occur at high speeds, loss of control could have resulted in a crash. Thank goodness traffic was light when this happened!.
