Driving on hwy 6, 6 lanes, heard a low squeal. Haven't had my horn/airbag looked at yet, but I have duct taped the horn down to stop the squeal sound. Glad the airbag didn't deploy! will have an inspection soon, hope it doesn't cost much to fix! 832-364-5231.

Takata recall: I was driving slowly in the rain when some cars in front of me started to stop. I slowed down but as I hit the breaks the car didn't respond. I pressed the pedal more and nothing happened, then it went down all the way. I moved the steering wheel to the right to prevent a crash but it still happened. My car is a total loss. My airbags didn't go off either and I had no break light indicating that my breaks would fail or that they were faulty.

My daughters were in a three car accident on 13 June 2019. They were rear ended which caused them to hit another car in the rear; no air bags deployed. They suffer from neck pains, shoulder pains, back pains, and headaches. Why install airbags if the are going to be no use during an accident?!? I'm very disappointed in Hyundai!!!.

When my wife uses a seat pillow for back pain on the new car the light that the air bag is not enabled comes on. This is unacceptable and did not happen with a previous Hyundai. I was told by the seller's service department that this is normal. It is repeatedly happening when the pillow is in use.

Air bags didn't deploy after a wreck that affected front driver side mph 35, signaificant damage done to front in. Car was in motion another car cut in front of that car had a small dent.
Dashboard light for passenger side airbag goes on/off randomly. Took to coastal Hyundai 4/8/18 they verified code but found no problem. They just cleared the code. 7/15/21 same problem. Took to wallace Hyundai in stuart FL. Was told passenger seat needs to be replaced for a couple thousand dollars but would check if corporate would pay a portion. Followed up but never heard back. I heard there was a recall on this but when I enter VIN it states no recall. This is a safety issue when I have passengers. The vehicle was still under warranty when I first had the problem and don't feel I should have to pay anything.

I was in an accident on March 12 2018 a tractor trailer sidewiped the LS of my car and destroyed the entire side . The car might be totaled. No airbags went off at all! he came into my lane at a good speed and a full load. I am lucky to be alive. I have had other problems with this car only to be ignored by the dealer. I paid cash for the car at the end of 2015 and now I have nothing. Besides being hurt.
While driving my car one morning I hit a patch of ice going 35mph in a 40mph zone. Upon hitting the ice my car swerved and I overcorrected, causing the car to jerk off of the road and flip onto its top, all while taking out a telephone pole in the process. Thankfully no one was injured and there was no property damage other than the car and telephone pole. However, not a single airbag in the 2014 Hyundai Accent deployed during the accident. Every single one was intact when the car ceased motion. Again, I took out a telephone pole, so I expect that my airbags would have been there to buffer had I been jerked forward or sideways. To my understanding airbags deploy generally between 16 and 30 mph so I find it odd that they did not.

This vehicle has totally destroyed and flooded by hurricane maria 09/20/2017. I made claim and insurance did not declared it as " lost" because it has a new vehicle. Safety features on steering wheel wont function , dash , radio, floor, seats, rear trunk was flooded. According to the manufacture company , the vehicle lost it's warranty because it has flooded. I don't need an accident and experiment air bags failure, all media system don't work to keep my hands on steering wheel.

Air bag ligth warning came on. .
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger’s side air bag warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after a visual inspection underneath the vehicle, she became aware that the vehicle was leaking oil. The check engine warning light was also illuminated. Need all picture.
Takata recall while driving the car I would notice that the streering wheel would sway to the right or left instead of being firmly it seemed as if it was not stable enough. I went to the dealer on several occasions but, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. In November 2016 there was a crash from a dui individual and the car was totaled. For the level of impact; all the airbags on the left side should have deployed. But, they didn't. I did file a complain with the car manufacturer but, they said since the initial impact was not velocity to deploy the airbags, they couldn't do anything about it.
Vehicle was stopped in traffic on city street. An SUV driven by an 86 year old driver crashed into the rear and pushed the vehicle into a truck stopped in front of the vehicle. Vehicle was a total loss. None of the air bags inflated every one of the airbags in the vehicle that hit mine did inflate.
About 3 months ago the seat belt light came on and has been on ever since. We took our car to our Hyundai dealer and they said that we needed a new airbag installed and it would could around $1000 for the part. They ordered it and we have to scedule an appointment to put it on. We are on a fixed income and $1000 or more is a whole lot of money that we don't have. We were wondering if there is or could possibly be a recall for this airbag problem. Looking on line at the complaints concerning this airbag problem with the 2008 Hyundai Accent we were wondering why you have not resolved this complaint with a recall. Thanks for you time.

I was driving down a busier street in town at about 35-40 miles an hour, with family in the car, when a lady in an SUV pulled out in front of me. The front of my vehicle crushed into her driver's tire area. My car was totaled and none of the airbags deployed. Thank goodness everyone had their seatbelts on, and everyone walked away from the accident.

Got the car when my mom died in 2015. She received a recall on the air bags but when I took it down to get it fixed the guy told me and my daughter in law that I was a week too late to get it fixed and that I would have to pay for it now if I wanted it fixed. I don't have the card that was mailed anymore but how is this safe for me, my family and friends?.

Takata recall. The contact was a passenger in a 2015 Hyundai Accent. While driving on an onramp at 25 mph, the driver swerved and crashed into a truck. None of the air bags deployed. In addition, the driver's spleen, stomach, neck, and back were injured. The front passenger sustained back, neck, and wrist pains. Medical treatment was required. The driver and front passenger side seat belts did not properly retract and were loose upon impact. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v218000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
I'm driving my car for almost two years now and the lights for the air bags are still on and have never went off. So I thought, supposedly may be the fuse needs to be replaced but so far to this date I cannot determine what's the issue other than a faulty air bag system. No I haven't taken the car to a dealer yet, but I need to know am I the only person having this issue. I love the vehicle besides its unintentional poor gas usage I am a satisfied customer. But perhaps maybe its time to start searching for a more efficient newer car. Be careful when buying used cars everybody.
On Thursday oct. 9. 2014 I went to my car parked in driveway to go to work. I went to turn key heard radio come on then an explosion. I went back into seat left hand forward. I did not know what was going on. I realized airbag was out in steering wheel, did not know if car was on fire, got out called 911. By divine intervention my injurys were minor burn on my arm which was cleaned up at site, my home in driveway, fire report stated noticed minor burns on face, I was not aware, upset and in shock. I went up with tow truck driver to dealership where I purchased car brand new only year old, under 11000 miles on it. I demanded a car to use, I was crying at dealership. Manufacture tried to say it was an insurance problem which it is not, car blew up in my face when I started it. Dealership came thru and has let me use a car for time being. I am trying to deal with manufacture and it is not easy. I do not want car back and I want them to pay it off. They agreed to outside inspector and now I find out I will not be aloud report. So now I demanded that I hire someone and we all go investigate car at same time, they agreed, still a work in progress at this moment in time, I do not know what type airbags they use but I have a right to know exactly what went wrong and for other people. I am lucky to be able to tell this story,.
At approximately 1:00am, the car slid on ice going 35mph, hitting a sidewalk and a steel gate. Both individuals in the car blacked out head on dashboard, no airbags were deployed from either the driver or passenger side. Once the police came 2minutes later. Both individuals stepped out of the vehicle both were bleeding nonstop, had to be taking to the hospital. The front of the car was damaged badly, 2500. 00 worth of repair damage. Both parties at the hospital, passenger needed stitches, inside / outside of the mouth, driver lost front tooth, and injured left wrist. Bruised marks on legs and jaw occurred week later, needed to seek more medical attention resulting lost of job.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated and stayed lit for an extended period of time. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,500. Dyd.
Passenger air big light says it is off.
I merged on to the freeway on ramp increasing my speed as normal. Witness states I was driving in the center of the street. All of a sudden my vehicle lost traction and starting swirving right and left as if a tire had blown out. I try to get control of the vehicle by letting off of the gas and steering straight when my steering wheel locked up and I was unable to move the steering wheel. I tried to hold the steering wheel straight as my car vered off the side of the freeway and rolled over once. I had three small children in the back seat buckled and secured and my car landed on its tires. No airbags deployed during the rollover accident and I was unable to get control of the vehicle due to the steering wheel being locked and the sudden loss of control. Once I had pulled my children out of the vehicle I noticed non of the tires had blown but my entire front end of my vehicle was destroyed. Prior to the accident there had been no noticable problems with the car and the accident was due to a mechanical issue or faulty assembly of the vehicle.
Cpsc: i1370075a. 2013 Hyundai Accent. Consumer stated his daughter was involved in a one car accident. Which the car rolled numerous times. Also, not one air bag deployed and the car was totaled.
On 5/15/2013 my daughter was involved in a 1 vehicle accident on interstate 40 east in amarillo texas. She was driving a 2013 Hyundai Accent leased new in February. This was a violent crash in which the car rolled numerous times. Not one airbag deployed and the car was a total loss. Neither Hyundai nor the dealer seemed worried about the situation. I spoke with both Hyundai and amarillo Hyundai and was blown off. Safety apparently is not their priority, just the sale of an unsafe product.
It was raining and I was driving about 35 mph and I tried to brake so I could merge into the left lane but my steering wheel locked up and my car started sliding and I hit the back of another car. My whole front end was smushed, but my air bags didn't come out even though it was an extremely hard impact.
I hit an elk at about 60 miles per hour. Front end of car totaled. Bumper, headlights and fog lights ripped off. Hood crumbled upwards. Pieces under the hood dislocated. Windshield scattered and partially disconnected. However driver's airbags didn't deployed. I walked away with minor injuries, body soreness. But concerned that the car might not performed as it should in this situation one more detail. I was traveling alone, no passenger.
My son was driving a 2009 Hyundai Accent and rear ended a stopped vehicle. My son was doing approximately 40 mph and not one airbag is his car deployed. His car was inoperable and was totaled by the insurance company. I went to the Hyundai dealer, with pictures, to let them know there was some sort of problem with that car and the manager's response to me was "I wasn't the manager when that car was purchased". I tried explaining that I was there out of concern that if it happens to someone else, there could be some serious injuries but he only cared that "he was not the manager" when I purchased that vehicle.
