Since the purchase of this Santa Fe in 04 there have been six times where the vehicle had been driven down the road and died. I have been scared for my and my son's life as this just happened on an interstate and if it wouldn't have happened before I wouldn't have known how to react but I barely pulled the car off the road. Hyundai said the problem was unbalanced tire pressure. . . Obviously they don't respect women.

The contact stated that the weather condition at the time of the incident was cold and there was light snow on the road. : the contact stated while driving 60 mph there is a severe vibration in the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to dealer, upon inspection the vibration was noticed however a repair could not be made. The manufacturer representative stated the harmonic balancer caused the problem.
My husband and I purchased a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe in septmeber of this year (2004). 2 months later, the engine blew. Hyundai is offering only to replace the engine. However, their lack of customer service is appaling. No one returns my calls, I constantly have to follow up with them. We initally felt that a new comparable vehicle was more appropriate. They seem very unconcerned that the car died on a highway in the dark and that my husband and 6 month old son had no heat for an hour nor that they could have been involved in an accident when the engine died. Safety of their customers should be the #1 priority.
Good morning, I am writing to you to let you know about my dissatisfaction with Hyundai motors. I have contacted Hyundai many times seeking satisfactory resolution to my complaint on my 2001 Santa Fe. The Santa Fe was sold to me advertising 181 horsepower. This however, is not true, and I am still waiting to hear from them. I have offered Hyundai many solutions that I consider satisfactory to myself, and at the same time maintaining my relationship with them. I am very unhappy with the way Hyundai is handling the valid complaints from people who, in good faith, purchased a vehicle that is not what it was advertised to be. I am very upset with the manner in which this matter is being ignored. Hyundai did however, set their own deadline of sept 2003 for closure to all affected by this false advertisement. This leads me to wonder if they are purposely dragging their feet to force owners of these affected vehicles in to resolution that might not otherwise be acceptable. The vehicle is not what I paid for and the lack of concern from Hyundai is very unsettling to me. We are talking about almost 10 percent less hp than advertised. The affect it could have on the safety and overall performance of the vehicle is scary. The vehicle has a certain towing capacity and torque. This also has to be affected by this. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and attention. Have a great day. Sincerely, steve cooper 26may03.
