2 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 07/11/2019

While driving the car will drift to the left or right. When correcting the steering, a jerk is felt in the wheel. Recently, my passenger commented on feeling it jerking. You feel a constant pull while driving due to the car going off to the side. I have purchased new tires, had the car aligned and completely inspected for bearings, tie rod and suspension issues. Nothing was found. At times, it becomes hard to control. It has been going on a while and is becoming increasingly worse.

4 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2012 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 01/31/2019

I had taken my car in December 2018 and I was informed to check my steering for the coupling, but that we would. It fall under the warranty. Jan 31. 2019 while driving on freeway my car started to shake and then it staled. I took to a mechanic. Who called me and stated that my steering coupling was shaved down and cause my steering not to work which also caused damage to my tie rods. He told me this was a recall for campaign 132 but I informed him that in 2016 actual part. I also went back and looked to see if I had the coupling part on my receipts and there is nothing on it.

5 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2005 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

"takata recall" I thought I needed a new inner tie rod on my 2005 Hyundai Sonata. When I went to the shop the mechanic told me you have bigger problems. " your sub-frame on this car is rusted out and the car is unsafe to drive. " with that information, I called the Hyundai support number, they gave me a reference number, I then went to the Hyundai dealership to get an estimate for repairs and to see if Hyundai would repair the subframe. The dealership told me that Hyundai corporation refused to pay any goodwill money to fix the car but they did tell me, " our advice: " is to not drive the car, it is unsafe. " this is not a mechanical issue this is a safety issue, and even though I did not find any recalls for 2005 subframe, it was obvious that Hyundai knew they did have a slew of Sonatas that had a serious subframe corrosion problem. In my bit of research, there has been a definite problem with the Sonatas and the subframe rotting out, all different years and mileage and age that Hyundai did repair the cars that I found on edmonds. Com and on the internet.

6 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 11/28/2017

2011 Hyundai Sonata limited 2. 4l. Inner and outer tie rods have been replaced three times now. . Not sure why. The dealership had no answer either. First time replaced at 81,000 miles, then at 112,000 miles and again at 139,000 miles. This last time they said it was ready to break off. One would think these parts would last longer than this.

7 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

Car shakes a little bit at highway speeds. The problem is a loud popping noise when turning. Typically in parking lots at slower speeds. Do not hear the popping when driving ever. You can also sit in the car with the car running, turn the wheel either direction and when you turn the wheel back you can feel and hear the popping in the steering wheel and continue going back and forth producing the popping noise and vibration with every turn of the wheel. Had everything checked at private mechanic and the inner tie rods were replaced. Did not resolve the issue. The car had the engine replaced at 90000 miles related to another recall. Charged me 400 dollars for a new starter at that time when nothing was wrong with the starter prior to the engine seizing. The car now has 99900 miles on it, but the popping noise has been present since 94000 miles. One mechanic says it is rack and pinion another is saying eps needs replaced. I am calling the dealership tomorrow but both are costly repairs and a safety issue. Now the traction control light is on.

8 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem of the 2012 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 06/11/2016

Started hearing a knocking noise in the steering column while turning. The steering wheel literally feels like it is going to fall off in my lap. It has progressively gotten worse quite rapidly to the point where it does it as I drive down the road normally around 65 mph or faster. It also seems like the car will walk all over the road while it is making this noise. The steering wheel also has slack and makes a knocking noise while stationary if you move it back and forth. I initially thought my tie rods had already worn out on the vehicle. I took it in to have the tie rods replaced to find out it is in my steering column. It seems as if a box in the steering column is loose or bad and I have been told I am going to lose the steering shaft if it doesn't get fixed. It is also believed that my airbag light has come on due to this same issue. It has caused a sensor in the steering wheel to go out. I called the dealer to see if there is any kind of recall for the steering on my car and they say they do not have anything. But they knew exactly what I was talking about and said that my steering coupler most likely needs to be replaced. It is going to set me back at least $350. Since this seems to be a major safety issue and a known issue, I ask why there isnt a recall and just got told he doesnt know. I was reading that there is this same issue in the 2011 Sonatas. My car is a 2012 but was actually manufactured in Dec 2011 but they still wont do anything about it.
