Engine Shut Off Without Warning Problems of Hyundai Tucson

I have a 2013 Hyundai tuscon that is my primary car. I was driving on a rural road going maybe 45 mph tops and my engine and oil light came on and when right back off. They did not stay on but it seemed my vehicle was losing power. As I pulled up to a stop sign, my car just shut off. A few days later I noticed a knock under the hood. I took my vehicle to the dealership and was told my motor needed replaced. They changed the oil and it was only turned on to be moved at the dealership so it could be towed home. My warranty is refusing to pay to replace my motor and I wasn't going to have it sit in a parking lot miles away from my house. When the vehicle was back in my possession, I checked the oil dip stick and it was glittery. This tells me that something internally is wrong due to metal shavings in my oil. After doing research on my vehicle, I've come to find many complains have been filed against Hyundai 2. 4l motors.

Hello everyone, 2018 Hyundai tuscon problem: engine/air bag cause: unknown * after a collision with 2 large deer on a main highway early morning, immediately brought it to a shop. The body work was finished and I had the car back, unfortunately after that my engine was very very sluggish. Irregular shifting, slight ticking in engine block, no later I had issues with battery light coming on ( the car shut off) while I'm motion on main road. Needless to say the dealership says that it's a total loss, this 2 year old vehicle with less than 50,000 miles had a blown engine due to unknown causes. I need some explaining from someone why this happened to multiple owners.

While I was at idle waiting at a red light on a city road , my vehicle just shut off and will not re start, I got it towed to my mechanic and he said my engine locked up and seized!.

My vehicle shut off while moving forward on a highway in the midst of traffic. The vehicle restarted then immediately shut off and would not restart. Vehicle had to be pushed off the highway out of the flow of traffic. I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic who determined the motor had seized and was ruined.

As I was driving, the car began to slow down so I pulled over and the engine turned off. It wouldn't turn back on. Lights, radio, heat-all working but the engine doesn't start. We have it towed to the dealer and they say the engine seized up on us. It will be replaced because it is under warranty but it will take 1-2 months for a new one to come in. Apparently Hyundai is aware of the issue and is redesigning the engines to fix the problem. How many times does this have to happen before they are recalled? what if you are on the highway and your car shuts off? no prior warning, nothing. They tried to give us the same bologna about engine maintenance and oil changes. This is a serious design flaw.

Vehicle engine shut down 2018 memorial day weekend. Hyundai service center ran a compression test and scoped the engine and found the cylinder walls scored. Prior to this back in 2016 another engine issue regarding the engine carrying harness was addressed & fixed. Less than 6 months after purchasing vehicle brand new in Nov 2013/I am the 1st & only owner, I was driving the vehicle in the spring at it cutoff. I reached out to the racine WI Hyundai service center over a year in order to figure out what was happening, the vehicle turned off multiple times over that year as well as my towing the vehicle to Hyundai multiple times before issue was found & fixed I have been advised that the specific engine in my vehicle was recalled but somehow my vehicle did not meet the engine recall qualification. How? when before I can even finish paying off the vehicle the engine has had 2 different problems with the 2nd problem rendering the engine useless. 6 months after buying the vehicle brand new, it started cutting off.
