Engine lost oil pressure to rod bearings. No warning lights of any kind. The connecting rod bearings were very loud and engine stalled a few times. I had vehicle towed to dealership. The symptoms came on suddenly, without check engine codes or warnings. The factory denied responsibility, saying the warrantee expired. I am not claiming warrantee coverage, but the symptoms are very similar to recent recall and safety recall issues for which NHTSA fined Hyundai for negligence. Nj.

My vehicle died while I was driving it on October 31, 2020, I had it towed to the dealer where I purchased it and have it serviced. It took two weeks for Hyundai to approve the engine repair. Hyundai and the dealer didn't see a need to provide me with a replacement vehicle until November 14, 2929 and there are limited uses of the dealer loaner vehicle. I am making payments on a vehicle that I do not have use of and neither the dealership nor Hyundai understand the impact of this situation which is no fault of mine. The dealership says it will take a long time to build a new engine for my vehicle and then install it. They have a backlog of engine and transmission failures currently. Why was there not a recall? I am also concerned that the transmission will fail after my warranty expires at 105,000 miles.

Vehicle stalled 2/21/2020 at a stop light and left me stranded resulting in a tow to the dealership. After lengthy process with Hyundai corp and dealership, I was forced to purchase new engine since they claim my incident does not fall under warranty due to "outside influences" since Hyundai did not want to own up to a design flaw that has now resulted in a recall of thousands of vehicles. New engine still stalls when trying to accelerate, but has not left me stranded yet. This will be my last Hyundai from several interactions regarding this incident. Hyundai needs to own up to these safety issues in all their engines across all years. The 2016 and 2017 tuscon's are experiencing the exact same problems as the 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2016 models.
After returning to the dealer for a recall notice, 4 days later turning into a fueling station engine stalled and siezed. Vehicle never had an issue prior to recall performance being completed. Oh and recall notice stated the exact issue it was to prevent engine from stalling and seizing. Luckily no one was injured.

Driving down interstate 95 in philadelphia, PA (at 55mph) when engine stalled. Was able to get onto shoulder, and had car towed to mechanic. Mechanic tells me that the engine seized (due to no oil getting to the block), and that I would need a new motor. Contacted Hyundai USA, and they have done nothing about it. Based on the reviews, it looks like this is a common issue, yet they are doing nothing about it.

While driving on the freeway engine stalls with no warning car loses all power. May or may not start again in a few minutes. We took the car to our mechanic cars started right up. No error codes came up this has happened three more times with the same results at different auto shops. I have contacted Hyundai they say they are not aware of any problems. Doing some internet research shows that many people are having the same issue this is a safety issue it could easily cause an accident.
Aug 2010 -- driving on interstate in extremely heavy traffic and engine stalled, losing power steering, brakes, and gas acceleration . Limped to exit, barely avoiding being rear-ended by 18-wheeler and barely got off freeway before engine died. Had to wait apprx 1 hour before engine would start again. Drove very slow and cautiously next 400 miles home with no further problem. July 2011 -- driving in city, turned corner and engine stalled exactly as in 2010 incident described above. Was able to pull into a parking lot before being rear-ended by another vehicle. Only had to wait apprx 15 minutes for engine to start again this time. Made it rest of way home without further incident. For past 3 years, esp light comes on randomly while driving down highway and won't go out. Sometimes pulling over, killing engine, then restarting makes the light go out, and sometimes it doesn't.

My 2007 Hyundai Tucson keeps stalling after being on the highway. When the vehicle comes to a stop the engine stalls out. I have had the vehicle back to the dealer in wich the changed the crank shaft sensor, that was 5 days ago , today the vehicle stalled again. As I was told by the dealer, if they can not get the vehicle to stall then they can not tell me whats going on. Reading on line it appears this is a huge issue!!.

Beginning at approximately 20k miles the engine stalls for no apparent reason. Usually occurs for a few days after extended highway driving then it is less prevalent. Stalling occurs most often when slowing to a stop but has happened on the freeway at speed. Vehicle now has 85k miles on it and problem is still occurring. Has been to dealer several times but no "codes" are set and they cannot duplicate problem (something about manufacturer will not "allow" them to perform extended driving to duplicate failure conditions). On a few occasions the engine has stalled in traffic situations where accidents were narrowly avoided. We no longer feel safe in this vehicle as it is just a matter of time until a serious accident will occur due to this stalling.
