Purchased 2013 Jeep Compass with 109,000 miles. Noticed it burned oil bad. Replaced spark plugs, changed oil to synthetic as recommend and filter. Continued to have excessive oil burn. 3 bottles every 2 weeks. Was driving it and heard a loud noise and something didnt feel right. , she pulled over as oil light came on. Now oil was checked and was full prior to driving 40 minutes, now oil light on, checked oil and was low. Had to call a tow truck, had it towed to garage and engine is fried. At 111,000 miles, needs a whole new engine. Engine it is is a 2. 4l . If my daughter didnt think quick to pull off the road and stop, this would have been a horrible accident.

The u connect display panel >gps/ radio etc. Shuts down by itself while I'm driving the vehicle( in motion) ,the screen goes black for no apparent reason, then restarts itself, also while I'm driving at about 35-40 mph the engine or motor ( not sure) makes a loud sound like its down shifting on its own, almost like engine braking?.

Radio (display) keeps shutting off and takes minutes to reconnect, brought into dealership say they cant find anything wrong with it it. Has done it 2 more times since then. Here a loud noise when running between 35pmh-45mph, brought into dealership and they said noise is coming from drivetrain, found starcase for exact conditions and engineering is working on a soultion, no dtc's. Was sent on my way. We just purchased vehicle in March of 2018. Not a happy customer!.
I purchased my 2017 Jeep Compass trail hawk brand new, my production date is April 26, 2017. I have had endless issues w/ this vehicle, I have owned other Jeeps and never had these issues. It started w/ my radio making this crazy indescribably loud sound along w/ freezing the screen. Turning off the radio would not stop the sound, not even turning off the entire vehicle would stop the sound. Serv dept could never replicate, I brought it in one time when radio was on a non-existent phone call and acting up. They took my car and turned it off, next day told me they couldn't replicate. I demanded that the girl who took my car in and saw what was going on speak with the tech to explain what she saw. They agreed to order me a new radio. Additionally I began having issues w/ Jeep throwing on random dash indicator lights and not starting. Tcm pin was spreading and causing indicators b battery controlling stop/start tested bad. They replaced. I had already replaced my a battery a day or so before. Damage wires found at fuse box (they blamed me) I have made zero mods to car or even lifted the hood myself. Bcm replaced. I had issue w/ engine cutting off while driving in road & pulling ebrake before I'm due for oil change. Had oil consumption test done and they say it's fine, this is because Chrysler makes up the consumption standard. So you will always be "fine. " this it to prevent you from getting to compression test. I go in many times for this same issue. Eventually, I demand with fca that they allow compression test and replace my engine when they discover it's due to oil consump. Tech reports oil low, sprk plug cyl 3 is oil fouled, compress. Test done air is felt from oil fill, bore scope of cyl 3 walls are scored and have oil on them. Fca approves new engine for me. After new eng. I drive 13 mi eng is over heating. T-stat clamp replaced. Do not give up & document well!.

With my foot on the brake, completely stopped at a light or stop sign, while in drive only, the car vibrates and the engine makes a loud rumbling noise. This can be felt in the steering wheel, brake pedal and throughout the entire car. When I take my foot off the brake or put it in neutral, reverse or park the noise from the engine and vibration will stop. The vibration is so bad it is uncomfortable to keep your foot on the brake, or hands on the steering wheel, making it dangerous, as I am having to put the car in neutral at every stop. Have had it at an authorized Jeep dealer 2 times now and they have found nothing wrong. Contacted Jeep, as the car only had 3600 miles on it when I first took it in, they assigned me a case number, and will be in the shop until it is fixed. Thank you Jeep for trying to find a cure for this problem, as I love my Compass, and really want it fixed.
