The Jeep will stall/stop running at various points while in motion, when stopping, when starting. There is no rhyme or reason as when this might occur. I can have the ac running or not, the heater running or not. There is no mechanical process that shows me this will happen. It is completely random. I understand there was a replaced part as part of the Chrysler s89 recall in April of 2017, which is out of warranty according to Chrysler. The problem is still persisting and is a safety issue for me considering it stalls randomly and while in motion. I purchased this vehicle from carmax in June 2021 with no notice of the former recall and issue.

The car has stalled and shut off several times while driving almost causing an accident, while driving the car just slows down and will not accelerate and has left me stranded several times.

Vehicle has suddenly lost power on interstate while in motion at 70 mph throttle position warning and mil illuminated. Vehicle stalled while in motion at 55 mph on highway, throttle position warning and mil illuminated. Both instances have occurred multiple times and are intermittent and without warning. All instances have occurred in moderate to heavy traffic creating an immediate threat to life and limb. Manufacturer has not issued any recalls for this issue despite numerous consumer complaints. My anti-lock brake system fault indicator, stability control indicator and 4 wheel drive (with exclamation point) indicator are on when engine starts. Within 15 seconds of me driving, all indicator lights briefly turn off. That is followed by a ~5 seconds of my car stalling with the stability control indicator blinking. Shortly after, all lights turn back on. This is an ongoing issue that I have tested multiple times over the course of a week. I am worried to take my car outside of my neighborhood and believe it is an issue caused by the vehicle as opposed to self-inflicted. Note: I have replaced the battery and the issue remains. The vehicle has just under 75,000 miles.

Vehicle only had 25000 miles and had electric issues, acceleration issues, stop and go would stall in the middle of driving putting me and my child in danger. Only going a high of 50 on the freeway then slowing. This has happened multiple times, plus replacing 2 batteries a year since having the car. I have sent information to corporate. Items have clearly been documented but nothing done to solve the issue that continues.

Making a left turn to enter expressway my vehicle parking brake came on by itself stalled vehicle was able to finish the turn and pulled off to side of road. Week later today pulled up to red light parking brake came on vehicle stalled took a while to restart . I am fearful of getting into an accident. Taking to dealership on Tuesday Dec. 15 2020.
I have a 2014 keep Compass with a 2. 0l engine and for some time now it has been stalling out really bad and also has problems with wanting to start but today on December the 9th at about 5:30pm or so I was driving down the interstate at a high speed of about 80mph when I had noticed my car was trying to get kinda hot so I turned my heater on to see if that would drop the temperature gauge down any which mind you it did not but instead I lost all engine power and also acceleration as well and when I would give gas it would not do anything but rise my rpms to extremely high level so the only thing I knew to do was get it off of the road as quickly as possible. What's concerning me though is that their is a recall on my car but with a 2. 4l engine not the 2. 0l but when I was reading the recall for said engine type the exact same symptoms applied to what my car did today so I'm wondering if that recall should be applied to the 2. 0l engines as well.
While driving at approx 30mph the vehicle stalls and message center reads "to shift, vehicle must be stopped" then states "shift to p then desired gear. The restart is rough. Vehicle is 2. 5yrs old with 45. 5k miles.
The vehicle stalled after pulling out of a parking spot. The vehicle was driving fine before being parked. The vehicle was telling us to put it in park to start and it took 3 tries to start it.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and hesitated to accelerate. The check engine and auto start/stop warning lights were illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder to restart the vehicle. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle revved up abnormally. After turning and restarting the vehicle three times, the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to quality motors (2022 w main st, independence, KS 67301, (620)331-6090) where it was diagnosed that the cylinder compression test showed that the number 2 cylinder was faulty however, the mechanic was unable to replicate the stalling. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred intermittently. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 17v670000 (engine and engine cooling) as a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
The vehicle stalled when going through an intersection after coming to a stop. The start/stop was enabled and vehicle started up then stalled when in intersection. The vehicle started up after a few tries to drive our of intersection.
After coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, I started to turn left and my emergency break engaged, car stalled, would not start, advisers me to put in park and hit start/stop button. I did so and then the brake pedal had pressure beneath it where I could not brake and began to roll back nearly hitting car behind me. For 5-10 minutes car was stalled in the middle of the roa. Turned car completely off and engine light and red lighting lights came on. After my toole attempts to restart car and disengage emergency brake, car started and could drive myself back home. I'm hesistant to even take the car in, because I've read of multiple reports of this occurring to other drivers while at highway speeds. I don't feel safe with the car locking up and failing to where I can even brake or pull to the side of the road.
My 2018 Jeep Compass will stall when stopping or slowing down increasing my chances of crashing. It will take more than 10 mins to restart and it will struggle to turn back on. We have brought it in twice to dealership shop and they say they fixed it but it still has not been fixed.
Car stalls after stopping and will not restart as if its not getting gas. The oil pressure gauge will not register. The car has also shut off while driving slowly (less than 10mph) and acts the same way.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled without warning. The failure was intermittent and recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the crank shaft sensor however, the failure persisted. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 25 mph and approaching a traffic light, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact restarted the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that there was no oil in the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
My 2020 Compass stalls while driving on the street and freeway and while turning. I have had this happen 6 or 7 times and one time a guy slammed on his brakes and swerved around me so he didn't hit me. I took it to the dealer 2 times and its been in the shop for 25 days and I provided video proof of the issue and the dealer said if they don't see it they won't do anything. The car keeps getting different check engine codes and they just clear them. There is obviously and issue the dealer won't verify driving the car two miles. There is clearly an electrical issue.
The car stalls at turns and says "low oil pressure" just bought this car Jul 03 2020.
The car has been to multiple Jeep dealerships and it keep stalling and shutting down but no problems found. It has shut down in traffic! this has happened on multiple days. We have checked recalls and none apply to the Jeep. I have two small a kids and this is absolutely ridiculous.
When the vechile is stopped at a red light or stop sign the motor will just stall we will have to put it in park and then start it again and it will be fine it doesn't happen all the time but I have had it a year and it's happened 4 times and we just had the throttle body replaced and it's still doing it.
My 2018 Compass stalled on me twice in city traffic. Checked the oil and the dip stick was dry. The oil light did not go on.
As I was driving yesterday my vehicle just randomly stalled out on me and after searching I find that this was an issue that lead to a recall. My vehicle at times will shutter/hesitate or whatever you want to call it which is also described in the recall. I don't believe this issue was properly resolved when the previous owner supposedly had it fixed.
While driving my Jeep continues to stall and stutter and gives off multiple error codes. I get my 4 wheel turned on, abs, fuel pump, and an electrical code that is a lighting bolt in a set of parenthesis. This is happening each time I am driving and the car slows to about 10 mph then begins to stop driving.
Our vehicle acts as if it has an electrical problem, radio no longer works but clock does, engine crack shaft makes it hard for vehicle to start. Car was checked for batter, alternator and starter and check out all good. It struggles to start just started a few weeks ago. It takes alot to build speed sometimes and stalls sometimes acting as if it wants to cut off.
Car stalls out at slow speeds.

Car stalled 4 times in the last month while at stop lights. I was stopped at light and when I went to move again the car stalled-all panel lights flashed and car would not turn on again. After multiple attempts the car finally started. this is just another problem with this vehicle. It's also been in the shop multiple times for drivetrain issues. Vehicle is a lemon.
Car throwing catalytic converter code. Was in shop 3 times this year with engine issues. Stalling out on me in the middle of nowhere. Misfiring on multiple cylinders. Driving up hills overheats losses power only goes 40 mpr up hills. Cuts out randomly.
Multiple times the low oil pressure light flashes. In a few instances the car stalls and doesn't want to start back up leaving you stuck. Luckily we've never been hit when this happens. Usually happens going up a hill or around a bend. Oil level in car is good and changed every 3-5000 miles. It doesn't matter if the car is fully warmed up or cold engine. Doesn't matter if gas level is at a 1/4 or 3/4 tank. I checked for recalls and there was a recall for this problem in the previous model year but it says it's not for my vehicle even though it's the exact same problem. This has happened multiple times with the stalling and probably 25 times the low oil pressure light has flickered on.
Car has been repeatedly stalling when going into a turn or coming to a stop. Low oil pressure light will flash at times while driving. Stalls and low oil pressure warning flash sometimes occur at the same time, sometimes do not. Car recently stalled while going 35mph on a highway. Requires stopping car, putting into park, and then restarting, which takes 10-15 seconds for starter to get engine to turn over. When at idle in park, throttle does not respond to gas pedal.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while making a left turn at 10 mph, the check engine and throttle control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle began to shake and stall as the contact struggled to operate the vehicle until she made it home. The contact then called an independent mechanic to her home who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective power train control module (pmc) and engine control module(ecm). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to serviced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her there were no recalls on the vehicle, they offer no further assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.
This car goes through a lot of oil. It stalls when the oil light is on.
