Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problems of the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2007

The contact owns a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While parked, the vehicle rolled backwards out of the driveway, drove over a retaining wall, and rested against a neighboring home. The door of the vehicle knocked the contact to the ground and caused minor back and wrist injuries. The gear position indicator failed, which caused the contact to believe that the vehicle was in park. The current and failure mileages were 114,000.

2 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2003

Vehicle shift gears by itself. Vehicle was in the park gear and shifted into reverse, almost causing an accident. Please provide more details. Ts.

3 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem

Brakes: front end shakes when braking, rotors turned by dealer, but problem continues - dangerous. Differential/transfercase: loud clunking noise from rear, 'roaring' noise at speeds of 30-40mph and 65-75mph. Engine: stalls(dies out) when idling in gear and when putting gear from park to reverse, delear doesn't know how to fix. Vehicle lunges forward when coming to a stop, almost hit vehicle in front - dangerous. Idles roughly, rpms go up and down at stops, stalls. Steering: pulls to right, dealer says alignment is fine. Noise from steering column when turning. Lots of water condensed inside of vehicle at passengers feet when ac on, dealer says normal.
