May 8th 2023 - car would stop, shift in neutral going at any speed. Had to pull over stop car, restart and slow start again while Jeep would shift, jump and clutch. May 9th-18 - Jeep was in shop to put a "bandaid" over issue. May 8th 2024 - car transmission doing same issue along with a leak. Car would shift in neutral on hiway, transmission sounds like it's dropping. ----- https://repairpal. 37 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2024

My oil cooler has failed and it caused oil to mix with my coolant and also causing a bad coolant leak. It over heats to car and my warranty will not cover anything! this is a major problem with diesel Jeeps and the oil cooler needs to be recalled also. It can catch on fire and is a real safety hazard. I’ve tried multiple times to fix the oil cooler and leak. Jeep will not fix my recall at all. A recall that is on the vehicle and can cause a fire!.

39 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2024

While driving at about 50 mph, the transmission shifted into neutral and would not allow me to shift it back into drive while moving or stopped. This put me in a very dangerous situation as I was in traffic and in the left lane on a 4-lane road. After about 10 minutes of the engine being shut off, it started again and ran just fine. A check engine light did come on, giving error code p0205 and u0002-88 when scanned. I believe the latter code is a stored code from a previous issue. No warning lights were on immediately prior to the incident. This is the second time it has happened in the span of about 4 months. The mechanic was not able to diagnose the cause after the first occurrence. After the second occurrence, the local Jeep dealer was contacted; they were not aware of any such issues and recommended adding fuel injector cleaner and changing the spark plugs/getting a tune up. The dealer did not inspect the car. The next day the check engine light went off, though the code may be stored in the car’s memory.

41 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2024

The car down shifts while apply light pressure to the gas pedal mostly on an incline there is a slight clunk and the engine shuts off. This mostly happens at 70 mph on the highway from 8th gear to 7th gear but has happened in lower gears as well. The power to the engine is cut. Everything else works no lights flash just no power to the motor. I have to pull over put the car in park and restart and the car drives normal again. This happens about once per month but I baby the car so it could occur more often if I push the engine more. A great example is if I am behind someone about 50 mph and coasting then I press on the gas pedal to pass them the car seems like it will gasp for fuel then clunk and the engine shuts off. This has been going on for several year now and no one has an answer. The dealership said once there were no codes, another time they said the oil pressure switch is bad. The car now has 172,000 miles on it however this has been happening when the car had under 140,000 miles on it.

While traveling down the highway with my gastank 3/4 full my car suddenly lost all power. Thankfully the large truck behind me and the car beside me were alert and they let me glide into the breakdown lane, where I was able to put the car into park and restart it. After doing a search I have noticed 2014 Jeeps have been recalled for this issue, although when I entered my VIN a recall didn't come up.

45 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Vechicle returns to limp mode. Almost causing several accidents on interstate. Engine 3. 6. Variable valve timing enough Jeep at one time offered a longer warranty. Replaced cams, heads, phasers, oil pump, computer, timing chain, timing gears, over 9000. 00 parts and labor. Mopar parts very problematic with the varible timing valve train. After problems in timing was fixed, there now is a oil pressure problem. Master mechanic credentials worked on vechicle several time and hour to try to fix problems. Mechanic now say only way to make vechicle safe at this point is to put a new engine in. This will cost over 13000 dollars over the 9000. 00. I have already spent. Scariest part of this vechicle is when on a 70mph interstate and vechicle goes to a top speed of 40mph.

Complaint to national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) subject: vehicle sold by carmax with open recall campaign z46 in violation of stop-sale order dear NHTSA, I am reporting carmax for selling a vehicle affected by recall campaign z46 (NHTSA 22v406) in violation of the stop-sale requirement. In November 2023, I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited diesel from carmax while it was still subject to this recall and the part needed for repair was on national backorder. Carmax failed to disclose the open recall or the serious safety implications. As a result, I experienced significant engine and def system problems and incurred over $3,800 in related expenses. The vehicle was eventually repossessed, and I had to borrow nearly $2,500 to recover it. In addition to these costs, I experienced credit score damage and emotional stress from the situation. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this dealer for violating the federal stop-sale order and endangering consumers by releasing a recalled vehicle without remedy or disclosure. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I need help! please! my car is under the x78 extended ecodiesel warranty. The government (epa) sued fca back in 2019 for making these cars with over 14 illegal deletes, like Volkswagen. Instead of making them buy the cars back, they let them say they would make all repairs related to this huge list of components. I’ve had nothing but problems the past almost 2 years. My Jeep was at one dealership a full year. Now it’s at another dealership in ennis texas for about 59 days now. . My Jeep went into limp in mode in front of an 18- wheeler on interstate 45, I was almost killed. I was so afraid! I sent a letter requesting they contact the manufacturer as they have said so on the paperwork. I’ve gone to get my car 4 tiles and it’s still not repaired. I get a text message on Saturday telling me my Jeep is fixed and ready? I’m not getting into that vehicle again, my daughter is having nightmares, she’s asked me please don’t drive that car again! I’ve attempted to pick this car up 4 times, it’s not fixed! same code from 10/04 initial drop off. The same codes came back on 11/9 after they said they’ve replaced the pcm and mass air flow sensor and other parts?.

56 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2023

My Jeep eats up thermostats too often. I have had it for 3 years and had it replaced 4 times. The last time , one year ago, it took the repair shop a week to finally install one that would hold. It needs it again. I also smell something burning when I accelerate onto the freeway since owning it. My engines fan runs high ail the time also. I read many complaints online about people having overheating problems and temp fluctuations in the same year vehicle. This seems to be an issue and I can't afford to keep paying to have the thermostat replaced yearly. Last time last year they replaced the radiator with it since melted rubber around thermostat could of gotten into radiator cogging it. This Jeep seems to be a lemon with all that has gone wrong since I bought it. I feel this issue needs to be looked into. I dont feel safe driving it anymore specially with the burning smell I get when I accelerate onto the freeway. It almost smells like wiring but not sure. It not a distinct smell. I entered only one incident that occurred with this issue as one is all I could submit. A few days ago was the recent but 2 more besides that. Thank you.

The vehicle above has started a countdown to where the engine will not restart in x amount of miles. I have replaced many parts to remedy the situation and taken to shops, mobile mechanics, etc. Nobody can remedy this situation and I am left without a vehicle as it will not restart. The dealership says they’re so backed up and unable to get me in for 2 months. I am left without a vehicle and have no means of getting to my job let alone around.

61 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Two open recalls on the vehicle (6/9/22 and 6/8/23) that have no repair available. 1. Both recalls can result in immediate and unexpected loss of vehicle power and "cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning" 2. Dmv (CA registered) will not issue current registration tags or paperwork due to recalls being incomplete. 3. Vehicle has had multiple issued related diesel engine, including entering into limp mode unexpectedly and incomplete diesel exhaust regeneration which has made it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. I have attempted to call the dealership every month and each time they have no solution as the manufacturer has not released a repair.

67 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2023

My jgc 2014. I was on a 5 lane interstate in the far left lane when my car started decelerating at a speed of 64mph. As I was merging into the left emergency lane it switched into neutral gear. I then proceeded to stop and put the Jeep into park and turn it off. Prior to this incident my check engine light had just illuminated a month prior and I ran a diagnostic computer test and it returned stating it was an evap problem. I haven’t had any systems. So I was waiting on my first check to get it taking care of (meaning no gas smell in the cabin, no fuel leaks under vehicle, no bad gas mileage). So the police came to my rescue and helped me pull the emergency neutral pull in the middle console in order to get it off closer to the median so I wouldn’t get hit until I could get a tow. Well it wouldn’t turn over again. It sounded like I had a fuel pump problem but when I went to turn it on but not over I heard my fuel pump cut on. So no problems there! so my battery started running low in voltage so I charged it with a battery pack and it got around 13 v and I unplugged it . It’s a 14 v battery. Well I got my vehicle turned in the off position the emergency neutral gear unlocked and then my windshield wipers started and the car was not on . I heard clicking in the fuse part under the hood so I found that fuse and pulled it. I think took a fuse checker and checked every fuse in my box they all had fire. On my dash it started saying system brake suspension and the check engine light was off. So I checked it with the computer diagnostic tester and it said a code of all u’s which were the ecu and the tcm and the gear shifter which was the only p. O. Code. So we took my gear shift off and cleaned it and hooked it back up. It was nasty. And it would slap again but not show on my dashboard. So I reset my battery and nothing. I am so upset about this. I’ve worked on every vehicle I’ve owned and this is mind boggling. Everything is up to date and seems fine.

69 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2023

Car shut down and engine stalled while driving. I coasted to a stop in the middle of traffic. Car would not restart. Had to get towed home. There are two open recalls on this vehicle- one for fuel pump and one for tone wheel. The dealers say they can’t fix it because no parts are available. This is unacceptable. One recall has been issued over a year ago. This is my primary vehicle. I have already had to borrow a family members vehicle for weeks now. I cannot wait months hoping for parts to become available. I need recall work to be performed now or at least a temporary fix to get me back on the road.
