My Jeep Grand Cherokee l (long model with 3rd row seating) has a panoramic sunroof. Today while driving on the highway, the panoramic sunroof exploded right in the center of each section. It has two sections which overlap when fully open. There were no warning signs, lamps, or cracks prior to this. The glass shattered and flew behind us and all over the inner sunshade. It was extremely scary and dangerous! my son was in the back seat and would’ve been hit with broken glass had the sunshade been open. I haven’t filed any claims with Jeep or my insurance CO yet. Please help!.

Leather dash is delaminating. You issues service/recall repair for 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2019 for same issue. This has not been resolved issue is all over the internet and owners are furious with fca for not fixing the issue. Seems to happen just outside of warranty around 42000-60000 miles. Mine was at 42500. I don’t know what to do. This is getting into my lower part of windshield impeding my vision outside my windshield. The service/recall needs to be extended to include subsequent vehicles with leather dash boards. From 2014-present.

While driving over donner summit (7000 ft elevation) on hwy 80 towards reno, the sun roof shattered with a loud pop. Fortunately, the sun roof visor was closed so shattered glass didn't make it into the car. I have been reviewing online forums and have found there are other instances of this happening with a similar vehicle like mine which is a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. . Read more...
I was driving on a clear sunny day on a fairly open freeway when my sunroof spontaneously exploded. There was a very large bang that sounded like a gunshot and the glass shattered. Fortunately I had the shade guard closed, otherwise it would have rained down on me. I am very confident it was not a rock or something hitting the sunroof. Had the glass fallen on me, I could easily have gotten it in my eyes and lost control of the car and potentially caused an accident.

When driving at highway speeds, the front hood flutters up and down really fast, which is a huge distraction as it draws the drivers attention and when the sunlight hits it just right, it causes a flashing beam of light like a strobe effect in the drivers eyes.
On 10/21/21 myself and my child (rear passenger in booster safety seat) were in a solo vehicle accident that resulted in our vehicle hitting an embankment before rolling 3x landing on the wheels again in the right position on the same side of vehicle we originally had impact. We were less than 1 mile from our home, headed to school, there was no unsafe conditions, and I don't have any memory of the morning or accident due to severe injury and brain injury, but there's no reason or logical reason for me to be driving in the manner or at the speeds that I was. I passed a car in front of me on a very rural road right as we came upon the almost figure 8 curves on a road I drive everyday. The people I passed and many witnesses including my small child stated that I was gaining more speed as we came to the sharp curves, I crashed at approximately 65-70mph on a 30mph road, there were no brake marks or any sign of an attempt to slow down on my part, but I have too wonder because I am not sure anything that would have made me want to drive that recklessly, especially when I had my child in the vehicle. My child was asked what was happening before we wrecked and she said she heard a pop sound? and I said "OH [xxx]", that was the last thing that happened. We rolled 3x with not one airbag deploying, and the way that the Jeep is caved in, I am very much interested in this model being looked over for structural flaws, pictures will be provided. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

My paint on the roof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee started bubbling and visible rust started appearing. After about a month my windshield cracked all the way across starting from where the rust made the paint bubble, this is the only part of the vehicle with any rust. I had usaa send safelite to come repair my windshield and what I thought was minor rust damage. To my horror the damage from the bad paint/seal was extensive and the windshield can’t be replaced until the body of the Jeep is fixed. The windshield needing replaced is the original from the factory no part of my Jeep has ever been replaced, the only reason it needs to be fixed is because of the faulty paint/seal. I now have no windshield or drivable car. I have reached out and there are quite a few Jeep owners that experienced this same issue in the same exact location. It is now being held on by tape so there isn’t just a huge hole in the car. The day it cracked the vehicle had not left my driveway, but now my car is not in a state to drive anywhere. Also in outside temperatures exceeding 80 the seat belt warning light and air bag light come on, sometimes it stays sometimes it goes away. However when the airbag light is on it prevents them from deploying in case of an incident which could cause more serious injury or death. I have three open recalls as well, I call roberson Jeep of salem in March of 2021, I have not heard anything about the parts being ready, I called in June 2021 about an update and they have not started my claim.

Paint above windshield has deteriorated and has rust bubbles. Paint first looked almost burnt then turned white/grey in color. The sun roof stopped working shortly after. Spot has increasingly become bigger and bigger. It has doubled in size in less than 3 months. I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle.

And emergency break was applied to stop the truck. . Fender and ball joints and otors were damage as well as the shocks I believe. . .

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer bertera Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram of westfield (167 springfield rd, westfield, MA 01085, (413)485-7773) however, the repair was still pending. The dashboard has bubbles and is delaminating from the dash. This problem exists in many of the Jeeps and a secret service bulletin was issue for only a 6 month period back in December 2019 to June of 2020. Jeep owners were not contacted about this and a recall should be declared for this defective part.
The blend air doors break or fall apart and no longer work! always heat! blend doors are crap. This is something!.
My vehicle (2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was only 1 1/2 years old and was involved in a head on collision. I was driving about 45mph when I was struck by 4-door chevy silverado (driver-to-driver collision) that was attempting to make a left turn on green, so only going about 3-5mph. The truck's steering wheel airbag deployed, but none of my Jeep's did. My Jeep's entire front area was crushed, and driver's side experienced extensive damage as well; resulting in my Jeep being totaled. Everyone at the scene of the accident was shocked that my Jeep's airbags did not deploy. As a result, I busted my head on the steering wheel, and 6 weeks later, I still have a knot on my forehead. I will never purchase a Grand Cherokee again! I am completely amazed there are zero recalls!.
1. Airbag light was on when I purchased the vehicle from srq in bradenton florida February 2020. 2. The hood handle inside the vehicle was broke replaced it, it broke again. 3. The hood will not shut properly due to the latch inside the vehicle broke. Now the hood will not stay up by itself property, began in August 2022. 4. Both door handles inside vehicle in the back were broken now the passenger side is broken no way to open vehicle door from inside. 5. December 2022 battery light is coming on, battery is no more than 2 years old check engine light keeps coming on. 6. Sunroof is leaking inside the vehicle when it rains. Hardly ever use/open sunroof. 7. Traction control light comes on blinking quite often since I purchased a vehicle in February 2020. 8. Sometimes vehicle will go into third gear from drive and will not switch down to any other gear or back into drive. It stays in 3rd. I have to turn vehicle off then back on for it to be back into drive. Bought vehicle in February 2020 and spent well over $6,000 in repairs. I have all receipts. Have many more problems that I will send next. It only let me select 3 at a time.
SUV entered intersection on a city street. And was struck on the right front panel. I believe the car spun to the left and clipped the rear end of the truck. SUV came to rest with front end against a tree. I was doing approx 25 mph. The truck that struck me appeared to be going a bit faster. None of the airbags deployed. I suffered broken bones in my neck.
While parked the rear hatch has recently started to go up almost all the way and then come back down, sometimes very fast other times slowly. It hit me in the back the first time. I called the dealer to inquire about recall r27 / NHTSA 15v-393, they said it was not listed for my VIN, the vehicle was built in 3/14 and displays all of the issues listed in that recall.
My Jeep was parked on a level area while it was raining and when I opened my trunk I noticed water leaking into the trunk area from the ceiling flowing rather quickly. It appears to be coming from the area where the passenger rear quarter panel and the roof meet. It never leaked before and nothing has happened (no accidents etc) to compromise the Jeep. Not sure if one of the seals is starting to fail.
Last year (2019), I reported that my drivers side headrest restraint system in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee deployed due to defective parts. In October 2020, 12 months later and an additional 12,000 miles my passengers side headrest restraint system also deployed. No injuries and no none was in the vehicle when they deployed. Fca will not cover any repairs. The Jeep has 72,000 miles. Fca needs to recall these headrests.
When I was driving straight down the street going about 35 mph, I heard a loud explosions like noise and then my Jeep became disabled. I took the vehicle to the shop and I was told that the vehicle was totaled and that the body and frame of the vehicle had completely separated itself from the vehicle. I have been told by several people who have inspected my vehicle including the dealership and insurance company that this is a manufacturer defect to my vehicle. Everyone who has inspected the vehicle has stated they have never in life seen a vehicle come apart the way my Jeep has and it should have never happened. The dealership and I have been trying since October 6, 2020 to get mophar and fca customer care to take responsibility for the vehicle and send an engineer out to inspect the vehicle for recall. The dealership has explained to me that the vehicle has slowly been separating itself from the body due to a manufacturing defect.
On 9/23/20 my 2014 grand Jeep cherokee accelerated on its own causing me to crash into a fountain wall. I was parking and almost at a complete stop when my car went haywire. It felt as if I got hit from behind, my dash lit up, my engine revved real loud and my car lunged forward. There was enough force to lift my front end and place it on the 2nd tier of the fountain wall. I was in a tight parking area at the hialeah gardens building department. Please google earth the parking lot to understand the parking lot and how compact it is. I had an investigation done on my car and received a very generic response via email regarding the findings and that Chrysler / Jeep were not led to believe that the incident was due to a manufacturing responsibility. Not one person has called me to discuss. Jeep is very lucky my kids were not in the car and that I didn't kill anyone or myself. Customer care has been a joke. They told me that I can request call backs but it will never happen. I have a right to know what the investigation showed on my car. My car accelerated on its own! I cannot get any response from the Chrysler / Jeep on the investigation of the little black box and how they came up with their decision. I believe they send these generic emails out to shut you up and hope nothing further comes about. They know we have no means of talking to anyone and get away with having defaulted SUV's. They get away with lying and being unobtainable. I have additional pictures if you need to see them.
Leather dashboard is coming loose and curling off dash, impeding defroster.
The door handles easily crack off of the door panel which prevents the door from being able to be opened. This is a safety issue. And it can not be replaced without the whole door panel being replaced.
I got in a head on collision on July 11 in the city of paramount . I was at a red light making a left as soon as it turn green I went into motion lost control making a wide left turn and went into the side walk. I hit a cement trash can and a cement wall as well none of my air bags came out . Both insurance and the body shop where the Jeep is now stated that it was odd the air bags didn't come out . They stated that the hit was big and the bags should have came out . I hit front on my whole front end was damaged bumper, lights , grill . I hit my face in the steering wheel causing my lip to bust open and I hit my head as well in the top left side handle. My insurance noted that the vehicle is a total loss due to frame damage . I didn't go to the hospital because of the max capacity so I've been taking over the counter pills for my back , head and shoulder pain I also been seen a naturalist for my muscle spasms.
