In December 2020, I stopped at the post office to drop a letter in the outdoor box. I rolled down my window, deposited the letter, and drove off. As I was raising my driver side window, I heard a loud noise and my window dropped into the car door. It was another broken window regulator. It was 30 degrees outside and I had other errands to run. I had to drive around the city with my window half-way down in the freezing weather. Jeep had a recall in 2010 stating "we are extending the warranty period for window lift plate repairs because some vehicles have experienced repeat concerns with window components. If you have already experienced this window regulator concern and have paid to have it repaired, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement. " when I was notified about the recall, I submitted receipts for the three incidents I had with broken window regulators that needed to be replaced. Chrysler reimbursed me my full out-of-pocket expenses of $708. 28 on January 24, 2011. Now I need them to pay me $461. 50 for the window regulator that was replaced on April 14, 2021. This is an ongoing problem, and most of all, a safety issue because of the distraction it causes to a driver. I recently read the following: distracted driving is a deadly problemit led to 3,142 deaths in 2019, according to the most recent statistics from the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA). Chrysler should extend the window regulator recall on Jeeps and reimburse me $461. 50 because this is a real safety hazard. What if I had been driving on the interstate at 70 mph and my six pound baby was in his car seat in the back seat, and his window fell in due to a bad regulator? that would be a major distraction to me and a definite safety concern for my baby. This is definitely not a parts problem. This is a huge safety issue.
Front window regulator issues. Today the driver's side window fell while stationary. A few months ago, the passenger side broke while driving. The rear passenger side window is sounding like it may go at any moment. I took apart the front passenger side when that window fell thinking it just fell off track. I discovered a piece of the regulator is broken. In doing research I see that this is a very common issue! this poses a safety hazzard!! there was a class action lawsuit in 2013 regarding this issue. I've had lower ball joints, bushing and control arms already replaced once in 2017 and now they are out again. I've been told by mopar that my 2006 Liberty was made 5 weeks after the last one involved in the recall. This is inexcusable. I've had 3 window regulators replaced. This is a fatality waiting to happen if I drive. I started hearing and feeling the ball joints going bad about 2 weeks ago. I hardly have driven it since I work from home now. Can Chrysler see all these complaints about the ball joints and still not add these 06 Jeep's to that recall. This is not good business at all. Also just had front brakes done 1 year ago and they need replaced already. Ignition - my key will not come out of the ignition unless I push on the ignition cable. Please help me to get these problems fixed. This is unacceptable from Chrysler.
Our 2008 Jeep Liberty was parked in the driveway. All of the sudden the horn began honking on it's own, the vehicle started, the alternator made the belt burn, and the windshield wipers would not shut off. All of this was happening with no key in the ignition and the vehicle was locked. When we tried to put the key in the ignition, the vehicle would not stop making the noises or shut off.

My front lower ball joint broke my windows regulators don't last 6 months I tried to do the recalls since I bought thing and every time I tried I get the same thing we don't have the parts we don't have the parts not 1 of my recalls have been done tried n tried got feed up when I seen that there all off my VIN look up for my 06 recalls but 1and the funny thing is I just I made a service appointment on line to get lower control arms this week didn't say about no really until I was there and they were getting ready to pull it in then all of a sudden they don't have the parts in they would have to order them what a joke my ac blower hasn't worked on 1 since bought it new can't belive it has not caught on fire yet I'm now at almost 100000 miles they ain't done anything yet and not going to either I'm sure I'm wasting my time typing this useless information as wasted my time trying to get all my recalls fixed wishful thinking thanks for listening have a good day.
Both rear passenger and driver side window keep failing, the window regulator assembly keeps going up and I had to replace them twice ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Jeep Liberty. While reversing into the driveway, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, the vehicle shut off, and was unable to restart. The contact determined that the failure was due to a defective alternator. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

The alternator on the vehicle went which affected the battery and the computer system, car nearly caught on fire. The repair person said this should have been listed as a recall because a certain fuse could have avoided the problem. The computer is on back order, going on 3 weeks and this appears to be a ongoing problem with these vehicles.

While driving after about 5 - 10 minutes, the battery light on the dash lit up and made a dinging noise. I parked came back out to leave 3 hours later, and the car was completely dead. There was no clicking, no noised when turning the key to start the car. We tried jumping the car with 2 different jump boxes and 1 set of cables. None of those worked. I then had the car towed to dealership service center. They thought it was the alternator, changed it, and I picked the car up from the service center, again 5 minutes into driving the light came on and my car died while driving maybe 10 minutes later on the the thruway. Again, not able to jump the battery so it was towed back to the service center. They thought it might be a faulty alternator, and changed it out. The battery light still came on, and discovered it was the power train control module (tipm) that was failing, and burning through the alternators.
1) front driver window regulator failed. 2) front passenger door armrest detached when closing the door.
There is only one window that will come down and it's the front driver side, they all came down and would not come back up. I replaced a regulator in the right back window and it went again so I just had them all pinned up. I've also had to replace the ac compressor twice and just put in 07/06/2018. I had to have a transmission put in 3 years ago. And now the truck is just shutting down when I come to a stop but it will start back up. I had a diagnosis test done and it didn't show any problems, but it's still shutting down and I don't know why. The mechanic said it is probably something electrical or has to do with the computer.
3 out of the 4 window regulators in my Jeep have mechanically broken inside the door. This needs to be addressed. It's not a cheap fix for me to keep paying for your mistake. I was going to buy another Jeep, but not so sure anymore.
It starts but doesn't crank, warning lights and codes flash, abs shuts down when stopping at a stop light, lose of power while driving, skipping stationary and in motioneas and bas plus check engine light, I have to shut off all electrical buttons for car to start, over heats only when idle, replaced alternator and battery and still and starts and won't crank,.
Airbag light continues to appear on and off even though recall m35 was performed. 06/17 rotors had to be replaced along with brake pads. 04/15 passenger side front window regulator repaired 04/13. Not working properly again. A/c condenser replaced 04/13. Not working.

Window regulators. Windows fall into the door and will not come back up. Vehicle was stationary this time. Repeated occurrences. I am told by the dealer that the time frame is up for the recall; however, I had this fixed during the recall period and it is broken again.

I purchased my 2004 Jeep Liberty in 2009 with 16k miles on it. In 2010 I had to have the passenger's side window regulator replaced at $200. In 2011 the back driver's side window had the same issue, but now the repair was quoted at being at least $400. In late 2016 the back passenger window did the same thing. This week March 2017 the driver's side front window has done the same thing and no longer stays up. All of these have happened while driving either on a city street or highway while moving.
Front window regulator is not working & window must be taped up. I also have a rear window that has failed & is wedged shut. I have had my Jeep repaired twice while it was under warranty for this problem prior to this. Window fell into door.
The windows in the car have suddenly fallen several times since the car was purchased in 2007. The first time (2007)the car was under warranty and the problem was addressed. Another window regulator was replace under the extended warranty period. Since the warranty ended, the windows have fallen several times. Once I paid for the repair since the extended warranty had ended, but right rear window fell in 2015(had been repaired the first time in 2007) and the right front fell today(2016). The windows fell while driving both on highways and city streets which is a major distraction while driving. The window fell today while driving 10 mph and making a left hand turn. The window regulators were faulty when the vehicle was built and the components used to repair them have the same issues.
Yesterday, the rear passenger window slid into door, will not come up. Can hear regulator but window is stuck in door. Vehicle was parked on a residential street, all windows were up, and about 20 minutes later the window had disappeared into the door. I called Chrysler but the VIN is not part of Chrysler's notice to owner's in 2010 regarding faulty window regulators.
My vehicle was being drivin on smooth open highway . The child in the back seat requested the back window be rolled up . This driver proceeded to depress button that controls the operation of the window in the back seat up or down and when doing so the window did not close all the way shut. This driver stopped to get gas and tried the switch once again . The window would still not close all the way . When window was touched at the top , it felt loose and easily slid down into the door and no longer worked to close at all. Diagnosis was made at a professional dealer quoting $300 claiming that the regulatory switch was broken . Upon calling Chrysler with complaint , my response was that this problem is at my expense because a- the vehicle is older and the previous owner could have caused this problem . I strongly disagree that the age and number of owners of a vehicle warrants denial of recall and replace or the regulatory switch . This is a continual problem and hundreds of other persons have complained the same problem. Chrysler used cheap parts meant to break with no regard for its customers whatsoever. In my case children were in the vehicle back seat and this problem does impose a safety risk to children as well as financial burden on the customer. Chrysler is aware of this problem because they have remade regulatory switch and motor better built ony want customers to buy it . Regulatory switch should be recalled and re installed just like the hitch was , ts is no different a child is put at risk !.

Over 2 weeks ago, I was coming home with my 2 year old, and as we came off the highway, the battery light came on, then a bunch of other random lights on the dash popped on and beeped at me. I heard the car die right as I coasted into a gas station. Tried to jump with 3 different cables and it wouldn't jump. Next day, replaced the battery and it started up fine. Drove to work (about 5 miles) and the battery light came on again as I came across a hill. More dash lights came on and it died again. Had a mechanic replace the alternator, and then we had to get a 2nd new battery because I killed the first one. Later that day I drove it around, and after about 5-10 minutes of driving, as I was coming up a hill, the battery light came on. Turned around and came home. Next day I drove about 10 minutes across town and back and the light came on again, but it made it. I thought maybe the battery was just trying to get charged up, so I drove on the highway for about an hour and it was fine. When I came off the highway, all the dash lights started coming on and dinging at me. . . And then it died again in a parking lot. Would jump at first but rpm meter would jump up and down and then die. Eventually it wouldn't jump at all. Replaced the alternator again. Jumped the vehicle, let it sit running for about 10 minutes. Revved the engine and it died. Won't start. Won't even click. Called Jeep and they thought it was a bad pcm. Mechanic rented a special tool to test it. The pcm is fine, but the tipm module is bad. Now all my other weird issues are making sense: radio dials sometimes don't work, sometimes it stalls in the cold at randomly. And the air flap actuators stopped working, meaning that no air/heat blows out the top vents. And then it dying on me randomly, with no other warnings that things were going wrong.
The contact owned a 2004 Jeep Liberty. While driving 55 mph, flames emitted from the front end of the vehicle. The contact was able to coast over to the side of the highway. The contact was not injured and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the alternator harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200,000.
1 year old battery died, bought a new one everything worked fine for a month, then my evap system malfunctioned, bought new one had system pressurized. Ok everything is fine for about two months, lights flicker a little here and there, car doesn't turn over immediately, cd player shuts down on it's own, lost positrac in the rear, heater not warm unless over 2000 rpm, car still runs though. So battery dies just under 3 yeras later (still under warranty) odd. Replaced free yay, only free thing in this whole endeavor. After replacing battery clockspring goes out, dammitt!!! replaced, not a week later lock fuses keep blowing. Found out alternator has a built in relay that if it goes wreaks absolute horror on computor, and entire elec. System, it even controls the light on your dashboard indicating that it has gone out, brilliant. Had I known this it could've saved many hours and close to $1,500. This should be fixed.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front driver side and rear windows failed to go up or down while using the window switches. Also, the front passenger side and rear windows moved very slowly when the window switch was activated. The contact stated that the driver side window regulator failed, causing the window to open without the window switch being depressed. In addition, the contact stated that the tpms warning light was illuminated even though the tire was inflated to the manufacturer's vehicle specification. The vehicle was not taken for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
Simply rolled up my window then it stopped and window fell down. Took off the door panel to examine and the cable still moved but made a lot of noise and window didn't move. This is the second time I've had this issue. I replaced the rear passenger window regulator when I purchased the car and now that one is messed up also. The one that recently broke is the front right window. Also my head lamp is showing issue with not coming on and I've already tested the stirring column switch.
I was driving back to salisbury, MD from washington DC when I heard win coming into my Jeep. I checked all my windows in be sure they were up but the noise continued. When I visually checked the windows I found the driver side rear window all the way down. I pulled over to check it and found that the window would not roll back up electrically. I had to drive 3 hours with the back driver's side window down. I had this window repaired for the same thing 2 years ago and now again. Just this year in April I had to spend money to fix the driver side window due to the same problems. And each time it was the regulator and only once did Jeep refund me my money. The other problems is the gas. When the Jeep is full it doesn't cut off, the gas spills all down the side of the car regardless.
Driver side back left window regulator has failed twice. From my research, this is a common problem for the Jeep Liberty.
Have now had to replace all four power window regulators. 75,000 miles.
At times over past couple years, vehicle has randomly stalled while driving, but then restarted. In December 2012 battery light came on, lights on dash/console dimmed, went off and on etc. Vehicle stalled and would not restart. Was in garage through January. Mechanic has on computer, everything tested ok. Checked alternator, battery etc. All ok. We picked vehicle up in January as was running for mechanic. Drove home. Husband next day tried to start and it wouldn't start. Needed jumped, but all lights on dash going on and off etc and stalled again and wouldn't start. Back to mechanic. Just picked vehicle up again (mechanic has had since January). As soon as leaving mechanic, battery light came on. Before we got to drive way, all dash lights went out and when stopped at stop sign, shut off and wouldn't restart. Had to be jumped. Got it to drive way, and will not restart again.
I own a 2007 Jeep Liberty sport, with no warranty. A few months ago, the rear, driver side window regulator and motor went bad and I had to replace this out of pocket. What is more frustrating is that this has happened to my driver front widow now. Since my last repair, larry h. Miller Jeep in sandy utah has inflated the price of the part. They are very aware of the need of this faulty part and are taking advantage of customers. I now have no window (it is cracked inside my door and I am not in financial position to replace it). It is approximately 30 degrees in my state right now, this is almost unbearable. I have also owned a 2006 Jeep Liberty prior to this and the rear driver window regulator and motor also went out. I also had to replace this at my cost. This makes three times for the same part! I am asking for a recall and for the dealership to replace this at no additional cost to me. I feel it is already unfair that they provide a bad part, but even worse that they inflated the price part recently and are taking advantage of consumers. This is also unsafe, I have to drive with a garbage bag to my window which blocks my line of sight, but is the only way to keep dry in this fall/winter weather. Please help me, I am at a loss right now and this is my only means of transportation. The dealership's number for where I purchased the vehicle (866) 653 3505. Thank you again. Thank you.
While driving with the ac on and without stopping, the battery indicator light turned on. The battery light went out when vehicle was stopped and/or idling. All information steers towards the pcm module and not the battery or alternator.
The window regulator has failed in the window. This is a well known problem. Just sitting at a light and the window falls down because of a small plastic piece that holds the window up breaks.
Both rear, driver and passenger side power window regulator,. Failed. Causing windows to drop while driving 1 month apart. Very dangerous. In motion, on a city highway very scary and dangerous. Could cause accident or harm to passengers.
