Car Stall Problems of Jeep Wrangler - part 1

I was leaving a grocery store and as I was turning onto the busy main road my Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited stalled with no warning no lights it just died it would not start at all. After 20 minutes it then started. It was very dangerous because the person behind me could have hit me if there wasn't any other traffic. This has happened before at traffic lights where it would stall out of no where but then I could turn the key and it would start. I am terrified to get on the highway afraid it will do that again and harm me or others on the road.

Vehicle stalls when started, brake depressed and shifted into reverse. Will occur several times in a row, unless brake pedal is released as soon as vehicle is shifted into reverse. When brake is released, vehicle accelerates unusually fast, in reverse, without depressing the accelerator pedal. Problem is more prominent in colder weather (below 40�f).

When the Jeep is put into reverse first thing after sitting for a while the vehicle stalls when the brake pedal is applied. If the break pedal is slowly released, the Jeep will stutter and almost stall but stays running.

The 3. 6 engine has developed a tick from inad rocker arms. The arms are known to be faulty and many vehicles have stalled at high speeds due to the issue. This is a huge safety issue that needs to be recalled.

Intermittent stalling has occurred 4 times while the vehicle was in motion driving straight. 3 times occurred on city streets and 1 of the 4 times was while merging into traffic on an interstate at interstate speeds. The vehicle restarted 3 times after stopping and placing the vehicle into park and cranking for about 5-10 seconds. The last time, the vehicle would not restart immediately and took around 2 hours to restart. There was no warning prior to each time, no stuttering, rough idle, acceleration, decelerations, etc. The dealership service department said diagnostic trouble code reported crankshaft position sensor failure, but testing could find no issues each time. Service manager requested that the vehicle be left indefinitely for them to test drive until the condition could be witnessed by technician.

Vehicle stalled in highway, stop and go traffic for no reason and was extremely hard to restart. A few days later, the radio and backup camera went out and came back an hour or so later. The radio, which controls all electronics and backup camera, went out again. Dealer replaced some sort of interface for the infotainment system (radio) on 07/30/18. It appears as though the electrical system Jeep engineers have designed for these Wrangler rubicon jls is flawed to say the least.

Traction control light coming on while driving 40+ mph and vehicle seems to almost stall out while driving. Have taken to dealer and they say they cannot find an issue. Taking back to dealer again for re-evaluation.

At approximately 60k miles my 2013 Jeep Wrangler sport unlimited started "stalling" inexplicably. When this happens you lose all throttle control, and your power steering. Which can be challenging when your in the left hand lane of a four lane interstate going 65mph. This caused a tractor trailor to jack knife and slide down the interstate. . . Luckily, I and the few others on the road at the time survived. After taking my vehicle in for the fifth time for the same problem I started researching myself. I was shocked to find it appears to be an epidemic problem with the 12-14 Jeeps with the new pentastar engines. It also appears that no fca/Jeep dealership in the country has figured it out. If those were the first with the new motor, it stands to reason if it doesn't appear there is a fix, that it will continue. And I can tell you from personal experience, people are going to die from this safety issue. This typically happens when down shifting to get power, or when shifting into gear after backing out of a parking stall. The throttle is lost completely and the power steering as well. You can try to crank the vehicle, but it will not start until after about five to ten minutes. It will then start up and drive like nothing happened. No codes are shown and dealerships have no way to identify the problem unless they can replicate it. That would be the beginning anyway. Some serious effort needs to be put into this, again, it doesn't appear to be being addressed, and it will only get worse as the Jeeps from 2012 on get older and get to the 60k range.

I cannot hear the people anymore through the stereo.

Since the spring of 2016, my Jeep Wrangler rubicon has been stalling after ignition, as I put the vehicle in reverse (it is an automatic transmission) and occasionally while idling at stop lights. This problem has occured 20-25 times over the last 7 months. The dealership has reflashed the control modules, but the problem persist. Two weeks ago I when to the dealer to detail clean my Jeep, I park at the entrance of the shop, when they where going to take my Jeep in for cleaning, it will not start, they had to push the Jeep into the shop, after checking it for a wild, they told me that it burn a fuse, they replace it and everything was find. Last week when I came out of my job, the Jeep will not start again, I just replace the fuse and it was all fine. This morning am at wawa getting coffee and when I came out , the Jeep will not start, had to get a toll truck to take it to my mechanic. He check it and told me there something cutting off the power and blowing the fuse every time he try to start it. He told to check with the dealer to see if there was a recall or problem with this, I call and by my VIN number they said there was no recall, a recall on the switch and for cutting off the power was issued for newer models but not for 2007. I will like to know if there been other similar complain about this, now I remember that sometimes my Jeep will be loosing like power or stalling when I was driving, I keep my Jeep clean and in very good conditions , up to date in maintenance, but this worrying me. Vehicle stalled without warning. It has stalled 5 times while driving with no warning at different speeds and after different driving times. This time I had only driven 5 mins and about 300 yrds when it stalled. It has not started 2 times prior when leaving work. After 10mins the vehicle started and I drove it another 515 miles to dealership. Waiting to see what they do after the 5th time at the dealership. This thing is going to kill me one day. It has already stalled on the interstate at 60mph. It is only a matter of time.

I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 20,000 miles. , today I was going up a hill stopped at a mailbox then started to take off and the motor stalled while in drive. It cased me to roll back about 3' befor I could hit the brake almost caused a accident. I then restarted the Jeep placed it back in drive and it wouldn't move! it acted like it was in neutral. I also tried reverse still wouldn't do nothing. So I rolled to a flat spot in the road check the trans fluid, it was good then turned it of checked the oil, it was good to. Then started it back up and put it in drive and it was working fine again!.

Got vehicle back from dealership after 5 different stallings and 3 times it did not start this is 3rd time at dealership. No code came up, tech drove 20 mins and they had no problem, said come pick up your vehicle. Got vehicle back on Thursday, drove Friday 240 miles with one stop in the middle with no issues. Drove back home 240 miles 2 days later, 3 hours and 45 mins into 4 hour drive, it stalled out with no warning. On single lane secluded road outside miami. Krome Ave- no passing 2 lane road. Car stalled out with no warning. Was able to drift to side of road, waited 5 mins and it started back up. After it had stalled out and was on side of the road, it showed the lightning bolt in the venturi symbol. I escaped death and injury again. I have decided to get an insurance death policy on me. I think my luck is going to be running out after this being the 6th time stalling and 3rd time not starting. What do I do now?????? I have put a lot of money in this Jeep, with bumpers a lift kit. . . . I have no idea what to do. Chrysler is not helping. They have had other Chrysler vehicles including Jeep cherokees that were recalled with this same problem but yet they cant fix my vehicle. About a month ago I was in the middle of a 4 hour drive I do on a weekly basis and 2 hours into the drive my vehicle stalled as I was slowing for a yellow light. I waited 5 mins and it started right up and I went straight to the Chrysler dealer in kendall, FL. They gave me a rental vehicle - thank god. About 3 weeks later they changed out the pcm and gave it back to me - fixed (supposedly). 2 weeks later it stalled in traffic on a 4 lane hwy; waited 5 mins and it started fine, was later at the store got in the vehicle and it would not start just kept trying to crank itself, waited 5 mins later and it started. That weekend took it to Chrysler in tampa (jerry ulm) they said it is not in my warranty and I paid $400. 00 for what I was told was a Chrysler "work around". 2 days later it would not start and it tried to crank itself. I turned the key off and waited 5 mins and it started right up and I went directly to kendal Chrysler, where it is sitting today as I write this.

My Jeep Wrangler unlimited x has stalled 3 times while I was driving. The dashboard lights up like a christmas tree and the vehicle's power goes out for what seems like no more than 2 seconds. There have been quite a few other problems with this Jeep, but most have been covered under warranty and the lifetime drive-train warranty. Question #2 I can not give any dates, so I put today's date. I know for a fact that the vehicle has experienced the aforementioned problem 3x's as it is an unforgettable experience.

2012 Jeep Wrangler sport 3. 6l vehicle does not start at random. Vehicle has stalled at highway speeds. All electrical will turn on but Jeep will not crank over or make any attempt to start. Wipers turn on, on their own. Battery, and starter have both been checked. Evidence leads to faulty tipm sensor but because the Chrysler dealership can not duplicate the error after 5 tries they said they can not replace the tipm. Dealership states they can not just throw parts at it to fix the issue even with hundreds to thousands of other Chrysler products having the same issue.
