This is the third time my vehicle has been recalled for battery issues. Twice it has been noted that I should not drive, charge, park my vehicle in my garage, or park it near any building or person because of vehicle fire risk. In both 2023 and 2024 they performed a software update and yet this issue still persist. In 2024, since they didn't have a fix for the problem they said we should not drive our vehicle and I was without a vehicle for 2 months. Now in 2025 they are recalling for the same fire issue for the third time. Again, I am advised not to drive, not to charge, not to park in my garage, and to keep the vehicle away from people and buildings. I have again been without a vehicle for almost a month. I spoke to the dealer this morning and again they have a software update as a fix. I asked to have my battery replaced since the two previous software updates did not fix the issue. They said they were only authorized to do the software update and mopar would need to authorize a battery replacement. Spoke to mopar and they say they will do the software update and only replace the battery if needed. I do not find this acceptable. I do not feel that my car is safe to drive especially with my elderly parents, children, or pets inside and yet mopar will not authorize the replacement of my battery. I feel that after two software updates that did not fix the issue and continued vehicle fires that a battery update should be mandated, not another software update. I now have a care I don't feel safe to drive. Florida attorney general's office lemon law hotline suggested I report this issue here.

I started out with a slow coolant leak coming from the middle front of the Jeep, that I was not aware of, until it got worse. Now it’s a steady stream only when the engine is on.

Last night after work (was night shift and off at 2:30am) went to car try to open with my key, didn’t work. Opened with key manually and tried to turn on my car, it didn’t work. Luckily I was able to jumpstart so I was able to go home. This is third time. First time, the key was working but car wasn’t start but it fixed itself. Second, car was slow down then stoped while I was driving ( only 5miles and it happened like 8 times while I was driving) luckily I was able to go our place but it towed next day. This is third time that my car didn’t work. I am so scared to drive my car cause I don’t know when it’s gonna stop.
Multiple failed recalls to stop vehicle high voltage battery fires. I've already had the battery pack replaced once and now another recall of a software flash (68c) to test the battery cells separators for damage. So again the issue is still there and this is just another band-aid to catch it before it catches fire. This has been a ongoing issue for over a year and the issue is still not properly corrected. Multiple months of no charging, no parking in garage or near other vehicles/structures just to have another band-aid of a software flash, to stop the fire before it starts doesn't make me feel safe enough to put my family in this vehicle or to still want to charge or park anywhere near other vehicles or structures. This is the same process that "fixed" this issue the last time that obviously isn't a fix at all. The new battery they installed in 07/22/25 is just more of the same junk batteries without a proper fix.

This is a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It currently has 22,700 miles on it. These issues began prior to 20,000 miles. The car stops driving with out warning. This has occurred on three occasions, while driving in traffic. It locks up, but power is still working. A message pops up that says put the vehicle in drive. . . Which it already is. It comes to an abrupt stop. It will not regain power. You have to power on and off multiple times to get it to start. Recently it failed to start (engine). Again, had full power, but the engine would not start. It also will not charge fully to 100%. The display screen will bling or go black, with no power. The steering wheel will shake uncontrollably while driving over 65-70 mph. These issues began in summer 2025. One incident was in sept. Oct, Nov, and Dec 13 was the last.
If the Jeep is not sagged to park in a garage, how can it be safe to drive on the road? the recalls are not being taken care of soon enough!.
While driving at about 55 mph my Wrangler shut down and dash read to put car in park to calibrate battery. I had to bring vehicle to side of road and try to restart. It did restart. I had a recall addressed at marc motors sanford maine service dept back in April 18, 2025. For recall for high voltage. Not sure why recall is showing incomplete? I am very scared to drive this car. I called the dealership in which directed me to call Jeep customer service. No one could help me. I was told I had to pay for a rental. I do not have such funds. In the mean time I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle that shuts off anytime while driving. I'm leasing this vehicle from stellantis and still have no help or support. I'm afraid to drive this car. I have no other means of transportation. I need to be able to transport to my job. I was told by dealership and Jeep customer service that there is no solution to fix such recall. Not until the first quarter of 2026. Please, I need a solution thank you [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving at speed, vehicle electrical went haywire. Headlights went on and off. Horn sounding on and off, wipers and washers going on and off, hvac blower on and off. Pulled over vehicle and turned off and removed key and it still remained running, all horn, lights, and wipers still going on and off. Opened hood, removed negative battery terminal, and with that, car still ran! was several minutes and car finally shut itself off. Scary that the car went completely haywire and would not shut off, even with key out, and battery disconnected!.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has multiple major safety defects involving fire risk, loss of propulsion, and engine failure. The vehicle has been subject to four significant recalls, including: * NHTSA 24v720000 (recall 95b): high-voltage battery may fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. Owners are instructed to park outside away from structures and to avoid charging. * NHTSA 25v766000 (recall 78c): debris inside the engine may cause engine failure, loss of drive power, and engine compartment fire. * NHTSA 25v710000 (recall a7c): ota software error may cause sudden loss of drive power while operating the vehicle. These recall remedies are not yet available. The vehicle has become unsafe for normal use and puts my family at risk. I pursued a lemon law claim previously due to early severe issues, including charging/fire hazards, but the problems continue and are worsening. I am unable to safely drive, park, or charge the vehicle as designed. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the ongoing risks of fire, propulsion loss, and the lack of available repairs.
On 11/7/25 I brought my Jeep Wrangler 4xe for the two active recalls and an oil change. The battery recall could not be done. The motive power was supposedly fixed. Since then there has been a new problem. The Jeep gets to the point of stall (like the motive power issue) however right before the stall it surges. This really caught me off guard the first few times and I barely avoided three accidents. Now I know when it feels like it is going to stall to be prepared to slam on the breaks. However this is not really a good situation they really need to do a full recall to fix this thing. I noticed you gave an open investigation and I think it is a separate issue from the loss of motive power issue and I think the fix for the motive power problem has exacerbated this problem of lurching/surging that I have told my dealer about no fewer than three times. The most recent almost stall and surge happened this morning as I was merging into a rotary and again because of that surge I almost lost control of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked on a driveway on two occasions, the contact noticed that the vehicle was leaking oil onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to seaside park service center, where it was diagnosed with an oil filter housing failure. The contact was advised that it was a common failure. The mechanic recommended replacing the oil filter housing with another model. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The mechanic referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a safety complaint. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The vehicle is affected by two unresolved safety recalls involving a high-voltage battery fire risk and potential engine contamination that may cause sudden loss of propulsion or catastrophic engine failure. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it away from structures or other vehicles due to the fire hazard. No repair or remedy is currently available for either recall, and the vehicle remains in this unsafe condition. In addition to the recall issues, the vehicle has an ongoing electrical malfunction involving the infotainment display and backup camera. During normal driving, the screen frequently turns bright green, emits a loud screeching noise, and cannot be muted or controlled. The screen and backup camera also freeze intermittently while reversing, creating visibility and distraction hazards. This issue has occurred repeatedly over the past year. The problems place the safety of the occupants and the public at risk. The inability to charge the vehicle, the possibility of sudden engine failure, and the risk of fire make the vehicle unsafe to operate or park near homes, workplaces, or other vehicles. The infotainment and camera failures also impair navigation and rear visibility. The problems have been reported to the dealer, who previously acknowledged the infotainment issue and indicated the system would be replaced, but no repair was completed. Recent attempts to obtain service or a loaner vehicle have been unsuccessful. The dealer has confirmed that no remedy is available for the safety recalls. Warning symptoms include sudden screen discoloration, loud audio distortion, frozen rear-camera image, and intermittent loss of display functions. The recall-related safety hazards occur without warning. The issues have resulted in significant loss of use of the vehicle, and the manufacturer has not provided a timeline for repairs. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time.
I have experienced at least five times in which my vehicle does not start and a "service charging system" error message shows on the dash resulting in the vehicle having to be towed to newport Jeep in middletown ri for service. Every recall that has been issue has been "fixed"- my hybrid battery has been replaced, my high voltage wire has been replaced. I tried to pursue a buyback request and was rejected in March 2025. I am aware of the 68c safety recall and that there is no repair at this time. Again on 12/9/25 my vehicle would not start, the "service charging system" error message was on the dash and my vehicle has had to be towed back to the dealership. They are not able to diagnose the issue. I want to pursue a buyback as this vehicle is defective and unsafe.

My vehicle is affected by multiple safety recalls related to the high-voltage battery / charging system. The recall instructions include safety restrictions such as not parking near structures/buildings and limiting/avoiding charging (or following specific charging precautions) due to a potential safety hazard (including fire risk). Despite these warnings, there is no available remedy/repair at this time, and an authorized dealer has confirmed the recalls apply but cannot complete the recall repairs. Separately (and repeatedly), while driving the vehicle has displayed a “stop safely / pull over” warning message multiple times. Each time this occurs I must pull over immediately due to concern for a sudden loss of propulsion or unsafe operation in traffic. This creates a significant safety risk to me and others because it can occur unexpectedly and could lead to a crash, loss of power, or being stranded in an unsafe location. The condition has been reproduced multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection. The exact root cause is unknown at this time, and I have not received a permanent fix.
Vehicle experienced multiple simultaneous powertrain diagnostic trouble codes related to oxygen sensors and fuel controls, including O2 sensor heater circuit high voltage, O2 sensor circuit high voltage on multiple banks, rich fuel trim condition and manufacturer specific powertrain logic fault. Vehicle in stock, under warranty and driven only on city roads. No off-road use or physical damage present. Issue appears to be systemic rather than isolated sensor failure and may involve wiring harness routing, sensor heater control systems or pcm software logic. Symptoms include persistent check engine light and emission related faults that could lead to catalytic converter damage if left unresolved.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on the highway for 45 minutes, there was an abnormal odor of chimney fire, which continued while at the stop sign. The front passenger occupant noticed there was smoke from underneath the hood. While pulling over, the steering wheel locked up, and the occupants exited the vehicle. The engine warning light was illuminated. The damper had previously been replaced, but the vehicle was well-maintained. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, or crash. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The police were called to the scene, but there was no police report. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. The VIN was not available.
I received the recall of my leased vehicle and I immediately called Chrysler stelantis and was told that there was nothing they could do. This recall materially restricts the safe use of my leased vehicle. I request early termination of my lease without penalty or a replacement vehicle. I am a 100% disabled veteran and cannot comply with the recall’s conditions they stated that they will take back my lease but I will be penalized for the early termination and also for any recoupment of the vehicle when it goes to auction. This is unacceptable and has placed myself, my family,, my residence and other vehicles in danger. I cannot abide by the recall.
Jeep has issues two safety recalls 68c and 78c . 78c says that engine can be stopped anytime during driving on highway. But they are not fixing it. Battery issue 68c is going on last four years. Where is the accountability? how can they sell a new vehicle in 2024 when they already knew that it had a defective battery ?.
3 different spot leaking coolant leading to loss of collant for engine and the engine did over heat.
My vehicle currently has two active manufacturer recalls involving potential fire risk and the possibility of bodily harm. These recalls have been acknowledged by Jeep/stellantis; however, no effective remedy or repair has been provided to date. Despite the seriousness of these safety risks, Jeep customer care has offered no interim solution, no loaner or replacement vehicle, and no alternative transportation while the recalls remain unresolved. As a result, my family and I are placed in an unacceptable position of either continuing to operate a vehicle with known safety hazards or being left without safe transportation. Jeep has failed to provide a reasonable safety remedy after acknowledging these defects. In my view, this represents a failure to adequately protect consumers once a safety risk has been identified. I am submitting this complaint to document the risk and the manufacturer’s lack of action.
Dear sir or madam, I am writing to formally file a safety complaint regarding unresolved factory recalls on my Jeep vehicle, for which I have already received official recall notifications from the manufacturer. Upon receiving the recall notices, I promptly contacted and visited an authorized Jeep service center to have the required repairs completed. However, I was informed that the necessary replacement parts are currently unavailable and that the service center is unable to perform the recall repairs until approximately February. One of the recalls specifically involves the electric charging system and warns of a potential fire risk. Being informed that this condition could result in the vehicle catching fire, yet being unable to have the issue remedied for several months due to part unavailability, is extremely concerning. Despite the seriousness of the safety risk outlined in the recall notice, I have been advised that there is no interim fix, mitigation, or alternative remedy available at this time. This situation places me in a difficult and unsafe position, as I am expected to continue operating a vehicle that the manufacturer has already acknowledged may pose a fire hazard. The uncertainty around how to safely use or store the vehicle during this period has caused significant concern for my personal safety and that of others. I am submitting this complaint to request NHTSA’s review of this matter, particularly regarding: * the delay between recall notification and availability of repair parts * the adequacy of interim safety guidance provided to vehicle owners * the potential risk posed to consumers who are unable to have critical safety recalls addressed in a timely manner thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate NHTSA’s role in ensuring vehicle safety and protecting consumers, and I hope this issue can be reviewed to prevent potential harm.
I was told I can’t charge the vehicle and not to park in my driveway or garage or near trees as it might catch fire or also suddenly turn off while driving.
Vehicle has had two battery failure recalls and one engine failure recall in the 18 months that I’ve owned it. I can’t park the car inside. I can’t charge it and now the engine may catch fire. Stellantis/mopar has no remediation for either problem.
Multiple times when driving, at interstate speeds and highway speeds I have a full loss of power, requiring me to pull to the side of the road and power off the car and power it back on. Turtle mode gets activated not allowing me to go more than 5mph. Not safe at all especially when children are in the car. I have had the dealer look at this multiple times and they continue to say they have updated the system. I cannot imagine a software update will fix the vehicle intermittently losing power. I am a Jeep brand enthusiast but stellantis missed the boat on this car. They have created an unsafe, unreliable vehicle that is putting my family at risk every time I drive it. Last night I was offered $100 because the ev component shouldn’t be used now, I can’t park it inside, and can’t charge it. It really is almost bait and switch that I bought a vehicle that is not able to be used in the manner it was sold to me for.
Dealer will not remedy the recall of potential battery fire.
We are contacting you today because our 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started to exhibit some concerning issues: on a fully charged battery, our Jeep started normally in hybrid mode. After 10-15 miles (down to 51% battery capacity), power switched to internal combustion engine (engine) after parking, upon restart and re-restart, various malfunctions appeared on dashboard: - straight to engine power (engine noise), not on electric power (even when still in hybrid mode) - "service charging system” alert - engine light on - plug light on - battery light on - "blind spot service unavailable, service required” - on right dial showing “power" and “charge", abnormal (?) temporary swing down towards “charge" - ac not working (no warning, no alert) - battery still showing 51% after parking, when attempting to charge: - charging lights start off normally but stop (?) after 30 seconds, and - “service charging system” flashes back on - engine light on, plug light on, etc - ac still not working -the Jeep is now not accelerating normally and seems to lack power -breaking is unresponsive or lagging please note, our vehicle was recalled under 95b and was serviced by kendall Jeep on July 25, 2025 for 1895b182 reprogram bpcm and complete drive cycle reoutine. We were told the software update was successful. We have made an appointment with kendall Jeep to drop our Jeep off on December 8, 2025. We are concerned that our vehicle is unsafe to drive and that mopar has not provided a fix for this continuing issue. We included a pic of our dashboard and warnings.
Three active recalls on this vehicle currently and have not had the vehicle a full calendar year yet. Two pertaining to fire-risk recall which can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside vehicle. The recall instructions state there is an issue with battery and engine which can cause fire. The recall instructions state to not charge the vehicle nor park in garage and to park it outside away from buildings due to risk of thermal runway. The engine may contact materials which can also cause fire. Because of this, the vehicle is not safe to drive. My dealership (Jeep, Dodge, ram, Chrysler in englewood cliffs, new jersey) as well as Jeep has refused to provide a loaner vehicle or transportation assistance free of charge. They informed me I must pay out of pocket for a rental while the recall remedy is being developed causing me to pay for 2 vehicles at the same. There is currently no remedy for this issue and no timeframe of when it will be available. Stellantis has not provided any support despite the safety hazard and the fact that I cannot safely use this vehicle. This leaves me without transportation during a federally mandated safety recall involving a fire risk. I am requesting NHTSA review this issue and contact the involved parties to ensure proper handling of the recall and consumer safety. Thank you,.
My vehicle is subject to two open safety recalls: 68c (phev high voltage battery) and 78c (phev 2. 0l engine fire / loss of propulsion). Recall 78c currently has no available remedy and involves risk of engine fire and sudden loss of propulsion without warning. The manufacturer has issued guidance advising modified use and safety precautions, including parking the vehicle outside and avoiding certain operating conditions. Based on these warnings and the lack of a remedy, I do not feel safe operating or using the vehicle as intended. I contacted Jeep/stellantis recall customer care multiple times and was assigned a case number. However, no loaner vehicle or transportation assistance has been provided, my assigned case manager and supervisor did not follow up, and my local Jeep dealer has not contacted me to schedule service or provide alternatives. Due to the unresolved safety recall, lack of remedy, and lack of manufacturer follow-through, I am unable to safely use the vehicle.
Vehicle stops driving ; states to put in park and restart - recently happened while at airport picking up family ; called Jeep, stellanis, dealership - no help - active recall - requested buy back - crickets since. ; had happened as well in past - at dealership for 3 days - was told corrected. Still happening.
Jeep has a design defect in vehicles equipped with the 2. 0l turbocharged engine where the coolant reservoir is positioned directly adjacent to the turbocharger and turbo heat source with insufficient heat shielding. Due to the constant high heat exposure, the plastic coolant reservoir and/or connecting plastic fittings degrade, warp, and become brittle over time, eventually leading to coolant leaks, erratic coolant temperature readings, and/or sudden coolant loss. This failure often occurs without warning, and many vehicles do not initially trigger a check engine light. In my case, the vehicle exhibited intermittent coolant temperature readings, abnormal fan operation, and heating inconsistencies before the leak was discovered. Multiple repair attempts are frequently made before the root cause is identified. Mechanics often replace components such as the thermostat housing, coolant temperature sensors, or related assemblies, not realizing the coolant reservoir heat damage is the underlying cause. This results in unnecessary repairs, significant consumer expense, and extended vehicle downtime. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as coolant loss can result •engine overheating •sudden loss of power •potential engine failure while driving •increased risk of breakdown in traffic or unsafe driving conditions numerous owners report similar failures, indicating this is not an isolated incident but a widespread design flaw affecting Jeep vehicles equipped with the 2. 0l turbo engine. Jeep has not issued a technical service bulletin or recall addressing the placement of the coolant reservoir or providing guidance to technicians to inspect for heat-related degradation in this area. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this design defect and require Jeep to issue a technical service bulletin or recall addressing this. The vehicle was properly maintained and not modified and the issue occurred at relatively low mileage.
Recieved 2 recall notices in the mail. Recall 78c and 68c. Recall 78c safety risk : "a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. A loss of propulsion may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning". There is still no remedy for this as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25. Recall 68c safety risk: "a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from recharging. Out of an abundance of caution, fca us is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained. " no parts available for remedy as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25 both of these recalls pose a risk to my wife and children that utilize the vehicle.
I leased a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler sahara from gengras cjdr in fairfield, CT. I received two catastrophic recall notices from Jeep on Nov. 24th, 2025 and was notified of a third catastrophic recall when speaking to Jeep customer care on Nov. 25th, 2025. The first recall notice, # 68c/nhtsa25v-741, pertains to the car's high voltage battery. The hv battery in my vehicle "may become damaged during normal vehicle operation, which could lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from charging. Out of an abundance of caution, fca us is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained". Fca us has no remedy at this time. The second recall notice, #a7c/nhtsa25v-710, pertains to the vehicle's hcp randomly resetting, which causes a loss of engine power, regardless of vehicle speed. The vehicle has been updated with "firmware over-the-air" software which may cause incomplete communication between the telematics box module (tbm) and the hybrid control processor (hcp), this condition may cause the hcp to perform a reset. An hcp which resets while driving may cause a loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Fca us has no remedy at this time. I was advised of the third recall notice when I spoke to carl, of Jeep customer care, on November 25th, 2025. I was assigned case #xxx. I was told the third recall involves remnants of sand and finishing debris of the engine block was found to cause the engine cylinders to seize, causing a loss of drive power and possibly a crash as well. Fca us has no remedy for this recall either. My car is a death trap! how can Jeep continue to sell a car like this and not face a class action lawsuit? I refuse to drive the car. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia.
I'm worried about my safety, with the risk of my car catching fire, there's a problem in the electric motor and battery, potentially two units that can catch fire and harm me, just as I can't fully use the car due to restrictions and lack of a solution from the manufacturer, just as it happened on older models, I'm not sure that this time they really find it.
I was driving on a major 3-lane highway and lost all power to the Jeep. The gas pedal did not work, and the car started to decelerate. The display said "shit to park and press button to start" (or something to that effect). There was no left lane shoulder, so I had to navigate across 3 lanes of traffic while decelerating to try to get to the right lane shoulder, which I eventually did. The car sat on the shoulder for an hour. It would start. The start button did nothing. While waiting for the tow truck for about an hour, it finally started. I drove it home and brought to the shop today. This is completely unacceptable. The car cannot turn off (and tell me to put it into park at 55 mph, which is dangerous in and of itself, let alone having to navigate a busy highway with zero power to the car). There was no crash (as is asked below), but it was nothing short of a miracle that there was no accident.
