My Jeep Wrangler x 2dr was sitting from 12:15p the day prior to (was a nice day took my motorcycle around town) and at 5:30a I heard a loud noise that woke me out of bed. Ran upstairs & outside the truck was pouring smoke out of my hood. . . Than taking action my boyfriend unlatched the hood of a possessed truck (blowing the horn constant radio on lights on) and proceeded to disconnect the battery to yield/stop the truck from continuing to burn. Called the dealer and they sent someone out to do a claim on the Jeep and called me two weeks later saying they would not cover it because its not under manufacturers defect. The insurance company won't cover it either because we stopped the fire. . . Which I don't understand. Now after doing $3000 and upward of there in work replacing all the wiring (computer and fuse box) it still wont run. Helllpppp!.

1. Top intermittently leaks on/near the passenger door, and when there is snow the top acts like a sponge and saturates leaking water everywhere inside the Jeep. I have driven and been in soft tops most of my life and I have never seen a soft top saturate that badly that it soaks the inside of the Jeep. Originally the top leaked terrible anytime it rained along the top of the windshield and passenger side, 4 times I called to complain 3 times they told me it was my fault for putting the top on wrong in winter the 4th time they acted surprised and said OH btw there is a service bulletin 2. The engine makes a terrible high pitch whistle/siren noise from the engine intermittently. It last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. I have this on video 2 times and dan’s Jeep has heard it also along with many coworkers friends and family. 3. The steering wheel makes a terrible noise when cold initially and recently is making the noise in lesser severity even when warmed up. The noise is like dragging a nail across a spring. 4. Twice now my Jeep has had a serious idle/rpm problem I do not know what to call the problem. Saturday the 22nd of October 2011 I started the Jeep, it idled fine. I popped the hood open with a friend to see if we could hear the squealing noise when I gave it gas. When I gave it gas the Jeep dropped in rpm and acted as if it was going to stall out. Experimenting with the amount of gas no matter how far I pressed the gas pedal it continued to sound like it was dying. Friday the 28th of October after driving for well over an hour the Jeep was making the high pitch squealing/whistle/siren noise…. Again and at a stop light I went to give it gas as the light went green and the Jeep dropped in rpm and began to stall out it seemed. About 10 seconds later the Jeep started acting normal and accelerated.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and I have had continuous problems from it. From about 2000 miles till now 12000 miles I have had stalling problems. Usually while doing 65 or better on the interstate. It happens at different times not predictable at all. I brought it to three different dealerships and called a few extra. No one has heard of it and said that it checks out fine. I recently moved to alaska for my career and drove the Jeep up here. It stalled three times on the way up here. All at speeds 55 or higher. And in oregon the Jeep began making loud noises at low speeds. I brought it in there. They said there was an abs recall and reset it. No explanation for the stalling. The stalling and noise still continues. First week in alaska my park quit working. 5 days later works fine. Dealership has no answer of any of the problems. To them it worked fine. It has a mind of its own and unfortunately it won’t do it for them. I even suggested they keep it for a few days but they wouldn't. I called Chrysler they said it needs to be diagnosed with a problem before they can help me out. I read similar problems with other owners on a forum and they said to contact you guys.
Consumer was traveling about 70mph and heard loud noise, and back in lifted up. Front had dropped, and driveshaft was defective. Had it towed to dealership, and mechanic told him that crankshaft needed to be replaced. Consumer states drive shaft bounced off of street and hit floor board ripping hole in floor next to driver's foot.
